- During my stay in Abu Dhabi, I have filmed this crazy Toyota GT86 with custom Rocket Bunny widebody kit! Under the hood you will find an 2JZ Two Way Twin Turbo Toyota Supra engine producing around the 1000hp!

Tamm Bowker they are stupid and they allow the engine to produce more power at a higher RPM range. The increased camshaft lobe profiles cause the valves to lift higher allowing more air into each of the six the combustion chambers in this case. This change in the peak HP range causes the rough loping idle. Some people like the loping idle some don’t. I like it but either way it’s main function is more power.

DareToBeDeviant its not gonna get more power. the gt86 is the successor to the ae86 an underpowered drift/drivers car. It getting more power would pretty much shatter it's name and connection to the ae86
Chrysler is (/has been) doing it to the Chargers and Challengers sadly. I wouldn't mind owning one of these if it meant having _some_ power, good handling and not weigh an unnecessary 4700 lbs. >.>

yeah originally 2JZ are twin turbo but this one is converted to big single turbo like many of them to make this kind of power.

They must have had a soundtrack of the engine running playing through the video because I heard non-stop exhaust sound and you could see the cam gears weren't even moving....

we have the conversion here of taking out a nice, new technology, light weight aluminum engine and putting in big, heavy, old school engine. should have use a 8AR-FTS bro.

I know it's a stupid question, but I was wondering what the approximate gas mileage is on a supra engine with 1000hp if you drive it "normally"
dhns555 the fun part is that the engine has almost stock mileage because the turbo will only spool up past 4000/5000 rpm, so it will handle like a normal 2jz before that. Not 100% because of the supporting mods but the mileage is actually pretty good when driving under 3500 rpm the whole time. Probably like 1 litre for 5.5 km, but when you let the turbo spool up fuel starts to go fast hahha
a stock 2jx is around 1 litre for 8km

1000hp on a cold start at idle will always sound rough. He probably has a bigger Camshaft which would have valve overlap (intake and exhaust at the same time) and thats probably what you are hearing as "unhealthy"

Register the car with the stock engine, get the 2jz in, have a full year of fun and then do the chore again. That's the only logical way.
