This is an amazing video. No one annoyingly talking over everything. No stupid hype, no over-the-top characters. Just man and machine working together to create beauty. Pure art.
Nah. It was too low class cheap to be a Supra. Like an ae86 should be. And it was a great example of low power rwd car as the generation that made it famous.
would be nice if toyota offered more option for the gt86 tho, a bit like ford with their focus fiesta going turbo with the ST or subaru with the WRX upgrading to the STI model
If Federico doesn't get passed top 32 in any FD event this year he should ditch the Ferrari and use the GT86 instead, he looks way more conferrable in the GT86.
I wonder how strong the steering wheel feels to turn, I mean it looks pretty easy and can mostly be done by one hand, right? Then I don't understand why so many sim racers need so strong force feedback when racing/drifting because it's not realistic?
ive had this argument with a friend of mine who has a sim with force feedback setup and the setup is too forceful as hes never been on track in real life, only using settings people have used online. in reality yes the steering is light enough to use one hand, and with all the power this car has, not a lot of aggressive steering input is required.
Really nice build, but I'm personally not a fan of such heavy reliance on the handbrake for drifting. It's all about weight transfer, let the car speak to you. The handbrake should only be used in certain circumstances to assist a drift. It most definitely should not be the way to initiate and maintain drifts, in my opinion. I know I'm going to get hate, or clowns screaming " That's how you drift bro " ... Well let me stop you right there, because it isn't. It's ONE kind of technique, that relies on brute force, and it's a shame it's become the go-to method whenever drifting is brought up.
Though its an 'each to his own' preference i personally agree with you but that is coming from a low HP drifter standpoint where i have to be violent with my BMW or it won't slide and having never driven an absolute beast like this. It seems like as more HP is added to these insane cars and grip is piled on to compensate most drivers are relying more on handbrake to ensure it never straightens rather than weight shift. Its a bit of a concerning trend but i enjoy watching the likes of Chelsea Denofa he'll run huge power but still clutch kick and weight shift flick his FD car where others will only use handbrake. Keep drifting fun, limit power!
Look enigmaPL - No "hate" coming your way. I totally agree - My 86 goes sideways on a roundabout whenever I want it to (especially in the wet), and mine's straight from the factory. You surely don't need a handbrake to initiate a drift when you've got MEGA HP going to the back wheels!
the gt86 was realised in 2011 iirc. however, the engine was replaced with a 2jz from the old toyota supra (built arround 1990-2000). the 2jz is made out of cast iron and with some tuning pretty much indestructible. that's why you can reach such insane hp numbers with it
What's better than watching cars drift on a track? Seeing the onboard angle.
True
Bromancing at its finest, the level of trust he had for the 240
This is an amazing video. No one annoyingly talking over everything. No stupid hype, no over-the-top characters. Just man and machine working together to create beauty.
Pure art.
finally an 86 that's not just for show, great driver too. cheers
1:54 "Let's Dance"
Yep! Exactly! At the moment BOOM different driving mode for sure! Very nice runs, great driving.
tandem mode activated
Unlike some channels this is believable to be somewhere near 1k hp. It sounds great!
Thanks man, this made my day! Drifting with 2JZ's are king!!! :)
The GT86 should have been the next Supra. The thing is just meant to go with a Supra engine. Awesome car!
I think it was meant to be the next AE86.... not even close to being a supra.
A new Supra is still coming.

I don't drift, but if I did I would be the same
No Grip :]
this car is just.. so damn clean mate, very very very well built
Beautiful. I'm a Toyota fan for the most part. Much more than a drift car.
the engine after the end of every drift sounds amazing
Very nice driving, especially at 2:10 !

This video makes me shiver every time I watch it
Wow. Excellent audio and video. No fucking poop music blasting just pure straight cut gears and 2jz noises!!!!
Omfg that stripped interior is actually goals
The turbo and engine sound so strong that it loops back around and almost sounds like an RC car lol

Great video as always. Thank you.
Uhhhh, did he change his tail lights? If so then why?
0:23 5:19
those are the stock tail lights
@@ianarsenault no theyre not, not the one at 5:19
Changed mid session while drifting
@@harshabandreddi2632 might have been broken or something or maybe the tint of the light was harder to see at first
MAGNIFICIENT
Omg this 2j is screaming 🤗😩
OO babe!! that sound!!!!
Wise words from the cars
That BMW at 4:50 had a great view of the show ;)
So much space left in the engine bay :o
Superb sound 👌😍
Only way these cars will ever be fast, quick, fun, etc.
I was like "aw hell yeah a hot lap in beefed up FRS"
*guy starts drifting*
MAN WHAT THE HELL ?!
That was sick

Good sound, very cool.
great car and a great driver
I wonder what tires and wheels he use. I'm just new to this, though his car looks pretty rad.
2:20 drift was Insane
badass machine !
those panoramic shots make it look like forza 6 before race screen
I knew it was only a matter of time before I saw someone do a 2JZ swap on an 86
ChaotiX its been done a lot of times.
Never seen it before.
ChaotiX you dont watch much yt then. Bc its literally so overdone
Does anyone know what brand/model that sequential transmission is???
when your motor and gearbox cost 2 times what the car you bolted it into... drift away.
You can get 2jz and it's gearbox for like 10k
Rosso Tifosi or you can get an m104 that is basically a 2jz for a lot cheaper
skipper lmao

What component makes the whine that you hear around 0:42
Turbocharger!
2:23 :D that was nice :D
Dam nice engine
this is like me going to the supermarket with bald tyres 🤣

enigmaPL I agree, to much reliance on the handbrake these days.
I personally just flick my wheel somtimes clutch kick it all depends but I alway go back to my flick
Jared bowman I have an automatic soo...... I’ll leave.

I know im gonna sound dumb but i just started getting into cars and i will like to ask what year is this car?

Soooo, apart from the badges is there anything on this car from an 86?
can you get 1000hp out of a stock displacement or have you got to bore and stroke it to 3.4L?
Stock displacement, probably. There are 1,200hp single-turbo Supras running around on stock displacement, so I'd figure 1,000hp would be fine.
Either way a lot of the newest 2J builds use higher compression with stock displacement rather than the stroker kit.
perhaps that engine is touched or is the original engine of the car with which it comes from to the factory?
no factory is a 2lt flat 4 na 200 hp the "touched" is a 3lt straight 6 turbo'd 1000hp
Put your hands up! Put your hands up!
That long entry after passing the 240 at 2:20..... wet!!!
