Here because Sam Witwer (Starkiller) mentioned you on Katte Sackhoff's (Bo Katan) podcast. This is amazing work!!! Subbed. 1 : 01 : 38 - on the podcast episode is where he begins talking about the miniature painting: SAM WITWER talks Star Wars, BattleStar Galactica, Juilliard + being a dog father. | Blah Blah Blah posted on Jan 9, 2024. 1 : 02 : 50 where he mentions you.
Said it on Facebook and I’ll say here too, Model 42 is THE BEST Iron Man armor/scheme. Great work as always and I appreciate the breakdown on NMM as it’s very intimidating to me.
I always enjoy the bits of painting wisdom like not spending as much time on the back of the model that you casually mention throughout your videos. Happy Painting to you too, good Sir.
I love this suit and the marvel now! color scheme. It's a testament to your ability the non moulded lights pop like they were part of the sculpt. Never fail to impress sir!
impressive how you manage to first paint the legs than the rest of the body and stil have it look like 1 single piece, whenever I do that there will always be a miniscule difference between the 2 parts
That's a fantastic color scheme! I'm very tempted to follow it for my own copy, but I think I would try to add some gold areas on the back side. That way there'd be a bit more visual interest when it's on the tabletop facing away
I never knew Iron Man had a suit in that scheme, it looks great! I'm going to try and reverse engineer that black color recipe next time I try painting NMM blackened steel or something like--or would you suggest more a deeper gray/blue scale for blackened steel?
Thank you! I think most of the images I use for the scatter were sent to me by one of my patrons some time ago (I also made a few myself). You can find a printable sheet of them in the video description 😀
Can I ask, when you work with thinned down paints, I sometimes find that I end up with little droplets of paint that are less opaque than the rest of what I just painted, almost as if I have too much paint on the brush and it just sticks where my brush leaves the model. Is this the case? Should I just be loading less onto the brush? Thank you in advance for your time. Love your videos, and I entirely blame you for the fact that I picked up the core set yesterday 😂
Ha ha, thanks for the kind comment! Regarding your question, I think you simply need to unload some of the paint from your brush (I usually do this on the back of my hand); you'll soon get a feel for how much paint is being held in the brush, and learn how to control it.. 😀
@@Sorastro ace, I also want to ditch shades. It always makes my minis look dull, and now I am a better painter, I guess I can make a similar move. You are like the standard setter so I had to check 😁. Thanks!

Could you do a painting guide for the Star Wars legion STAP?
Hi! Although they do look cool, I'm not sure if I'm going to get to them tbh. I might be covering some of the Geonosian Warriors soon though... 🙂
Always such a pleasure to watch and ear . Merry Christmas.

Thank you! Yes, generally I might go for a more blue-ish tint when painting steel 😀
How long from start to finish did it take to paint the model, not counting filming?
Hello! I'm honestly not sure tbh, but I painted him in bursts over about 3 days.. 🙂
Awesome! Quick question, do you make the newspaper scatter yourself? It’s a really cool idea and wanted to replicate for some of my mvp minis
Thank you! I think most of the images I use for the scatter were sent to me by one of my patrons some time ago (I also made a few myself). You can find a printable sheet of them in the video description 😀

Sorastro, in general, have you moved away from using washes/shades in your painting?
Hi! I think that's a fair observation, yes. Although I'm still happy to whip out the speed paints if it's right for the job.. 😀
@@Sorastro ace, I also want to ditch shades. It always makes my minis look dull, and now I am a better painter, I guess I can make a similar move. You are like the standard setter so I had to check 😁. Thanks!
Ha ha, no problem! 😁
Last question, are you also using a varnish to finish on your minis?
Yep! I use the AK Interactive Ultra Matte Varnish 🙂
WOW
😊
Amazing work as always, maestro) just one question: how much time did that mini take you to be painted? Merry Christmas)
Thanks a lot! I can't never to be honest; I filmed it in bits over a few days.. I certainly took my time 😁
so beauti
Thank you 😊
