I just traded my 2017 M240i for a new 2021 Giulia QV in competizione red with red stitching: the last to be sold in Japan. If you stop doing Alfa content, I really don't think I will have an interest in your channel.
Makes complete sense on the 21. However makes me sad to hear your considering leaving the brand. (Can’t blame you with the issues you have experienced) The smile my 18 puts on mine and my wife’s face every time we drive is darn near priceless. Best of luck getting 18 back!
Yeah the last 7 months have been hell with my 18 and if the car wasn't so personal to me I would have Never put myself though this crap. and I would have walked away long time ago. So far the 18 is doing well I will have new content on the channel very soon so stay tuned.
Sorry to see you selling the 2021, but even more sorry to hear you say you might terminate your association with the brand. You were one of the reasons I purchased my 2019 Giulia QV. Fortunately, I've had zero problems with that car. Just completed a 1850 mile trip around the Hudson valley and New England. My biggest concern is that there is not a competent network of repair shops for these cars. That issue will kill the brand. Hope your 2018 returns repaired and ready to go.
18 is back better than ever so far but the dealer network is the issue. I will touch upon this further in my next video when the black car reappears on the channel this coming week. Stay tuned.
@@autofanaticcars yes, here in Europe we dont have the issue with the dealer parts as Alfa Romeo dealers are all over the part, and i used them and they are good, in the states they need to invest more in that to keep up with the number of cars in the road.
Like hooking back up with an old girlfriend. Remember the awesome times, forget the craziness…. Hope she turns out ok - Excited to see 2018 QV mods round 2!
Once i sold my AR and i replaced her with a different brand's model. After a year i sold it and purchased another Alfa Romeo again. I felt that year was a hole in my life since i bought my first ever AR 20 years ago...

I had a 2017 QV for 18 months and it never ran properly. Dealer failed to fix it despite numerous attempts. Traded it in last week for a 2020 Audi RS5 coupe sport edition. The Alfa is a great car let down by poor build quality, underdevelopment and a lousy dealer network here in UK.
thanks for sharing the biggest issue is dealer support and factory support of the dealers to solve real problems. They need to wake up fast before the brand leaves the USA
weirdly Giulia is more reliable in UK than any of its german competitors BMW or Audi or Merc in UK reliability study and thats no wonder if you check BMW was bottom brand in JD Power Germany between 2015-2017. Audis arent that much better, with lots of problems with its TSI and DSGs and also other engines. Dealer network is of of course better on those brands which sells a lot. But Alfa network will never get better if people dont buy them.
I expected you sold it over Cars and Bids, Doug will be pissed of :D Love Alfa by the way. I had lot of cars but I remember Giulietta and especially 159 as really something special. True emotion.
I bought my 2018 because of you! Sharing your experiences gave me the confidence to throw down on the brand and modify it for my needs. Btw you will absolutely LOVE the Kw ddc adds so much refinement and performance, combined with cup 2 it’s 👑. Truly feels like this car should’ve been priced at double its MSRP. Btw go for the f12
I have the Kw ddc for about a week on my 18 it's a nice improvement of just lowering springs on the 17-19 cars however the 2021 QV i sold just with the Kw St Springs feels so much better in the ride and dampening and control. the newer car has retuned shocks and what appears to be softer springs, with the new springs its an absolute perfect match I could not believe it. On the 18 and early cars the nose bounces too much with the springs only due to lack of shock dampening. So far the DDC i like, its not perfect but considering the lack of other options it is just fine. Il discuss more in a new video soon on this kit.
@@autofanaticcars so… best option for ‘18 and earlier cars is to get the shocks from the ‘21 car and KW springs? Or is it more a matter of an ECU retune?

Hello Mr Fanatic. I think we have similar taste in cars bc if i had 100Gs to burn I’d get the AMG E63S. Would you still recommend a Giulia QV to a new potential buyer?
I had the E63S its a cool car but the weight kills the fun that is why the Giulia QV is so amazing for how light and sharp it is on its feet. All depends what your after in a driving experience but for me I can never go back to the bigger heavier higher horsepower cars because they are so fatiguing to my body in NYC driving conditions daily.
Have an opportunity to pick up either a 19 or 21, any opinion ? 19 is Trofeo white and 21 is vesuvio grey. Similar options , 19 is under 10k miles and 10k less than the 21.
I remember that you said in one of your videos earlier that you want to pull the trigger in Koshi GTAm kit, is that true? Would love to see a content that shows of installation of this kit.
I hope I don't come across anything serious breakdown in the future. 17 Giulia QV 35k mi here. well you do realize I had to buy another $85,000 car for that deal to happen so look at the big picture from the manufactures end it was a win for them on two fronts really.
OMG… This just convinced me that it may not be such a good idea to purchase an Alfa Romeo QV after all! I really thought the company had addressed its issues with reliability! The car should be able to make it to 150k miles at the very least!
the thing I love about the E92 is the engine and the sound plus the DCT is awesome. the E92 are fun cars when modified and I wouldn't mind having one to build on the channel one day. the QV is in a class of its own of course.
it was a cluster fuck of a deal I made but I also had to buy the 21 as part of that deal so for the manufacture it was more of a win than it was for me.
Had similar experience with my 4C. Took it to the dealer and they did more damage than they fixed. Dealer network is by far the worst aspect of owning an Alfa Romeo in the states.
@@autofanaticcarsEnlighten me on the reds. Are there 3 or 2? Getting my Guilia QV end of October but I’m really torn on colours, they’re all awesome. Guess if it’s an Alfa its gotta be red, but which?
@@autofanaticcars I really hope you do. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it from factory and see what you can do with it, especially from a handling perspective.
I am sure thats an awesome car but I honestly dislike the styling inside and out it just does not connect with me on any level because of that and the LT4 is such old news in a car i had one already in my CTSV and an LSA in my older CTSV. the Alfa in my opinion is way more fun to toss around.
I hate financing cars. What was the issue with the 2018? And the service? I am an Alfa guy through and through but they should have done a Hyundai 10 year warranty and bulletproof service on the relaunch of Alfa. Disappointing that some of the options for the interior are going away. Stellantis…WTF. Fix the service. Building a brand is a heavy lift. Who is gonna make a car like this in the future? I sold Stelvio 2.0, it was totally reliable and great for its purpose, drove it 45k miles, but I wasn’t driving much right now. Might get another one for a daily by winter with the mechanical LSD. Still have several other new and old Alfas. You should grab a 4C they are very reliable and fun to build.
problem with Alfa in the USA is dealer support and training which is going to destroy the brand. Once again anything that Chrysler touches goes to hell historically in the automotive world and now they are ruining the brand and if they do not WAKE up Alfa will be gone from the US market forever. Love the 4C might get one in the future
yeah the red QV was really sweet and very well built and no more red stitch of interior on the QV so many options were discontinued even the carbon packages.
yes no more red stitch or red accent on interior, no more carbon package, no more carbon ceramic brakes and im sure more things have been discontinued.
@@autofanaticcars Hey Phil, not sure where you got that info or if you are only talking about 2022 models. I just went to the site and it still allows you to build the car with the red stitching and interior and Carbon package is available. However, I am kinda pissed that it does not show the Carbon Ceramic Brakes option, so I hope those can still be acquired somehow. I just worked for Alfa at Monterey Car Week and had some great conversations with 2 of the brass regarding the future of the brand, including the head of Alfa USA, but this did not come up. We had 3 2021 Rosso Competizione Giulia QV with the red interiors. I drove one with the CCB's at the 2019 event, but the only one with CCB discs we had this time ended up unfortunately going to Mecum for display. There is just a night and day difference between the steel ones and those carbon ceramic brakes! Other than cost, I just didn't see a downside to having them if you don't live in cold, rough climates like your NY roads or Canada for the warm-up factor. Cheers and thanks for all of the great vids on this car that I still hope to buy soon!
D’oh I was hoping to see how you fitted the Sliplo on the front especially with the active splitter. Are there negatives putting bits in any areas that are meant to add downforce, etc. As of last week I finally got my MY21 QV.
I will be doing the Sliplo on the 2018 one of these days, enjoy your 21 but please consider doing all of the modifications I showed in my last video to truly get the most out of these cars. Stock is nowhere near as fun or special.
that one might be going next I just can not enjoy the GT350R anymore with the roads being so busted up and my back injuries so I barely drive it much. Makes no sense to have a car to stare at and not use.

Shit! I want to buy it!! I have one too, and there is no competition for the QV. The E92 is too heavy feeling.
the thing I love about the E92 is the engine and the sound plus the DCT is awesome. the E92 are fun cars when modified and I wouldn't mind having one to build on the channel one day. the QV is in a class of its own of course.
I bought mine from the same dealer 🇮🇹!!
Where in FL is this one going? We have a great dealer in Pensacola.
South FL quite a distance from your area.
Alfa paid the other car off? ? If I didn't have electrical issues with mine also I would have requested that.
it was a cluster fuck of a deal I made but I also had to buy the 21 as part of that deal so for the manufacture it was more of a win than it was for me.
Was the water leak in the black QV the reason why you had problems or was it something else ?
started with the water leak and aggressive technicians who broke lots of stuff and it spiraled into a mess.
Had similar experience with my 4C. Took it to the dealer and they did more damage than they fixed. Dealer network is by far the worst aspect of owning an Alfa Romeo in the states.
understood. however if a GTam comes to America I'm all in.
same here but i do not think Alfa will spend the money to make it USA legal
❤ Alfa Romeo 🍀 🇮🇹 👍
Love that colour!
I do as well however i kinda like it better on the Alfa 4C than the Giulia. but it is a neat red is looks very similar to Porsches Carmine Red.
@@autofanaticcarsEnlighten me on the reds. Are there 3 or 2?
Getting my Guilia QV end of October but I’m really torn on colours, they’re all awesome. Guess if it’s an Alfa its gotta be red, but which?
Would you consider adding the coming Nissan Z or IS500 to the channel?
I really like the new Z a lot wouldn't mind getting one to build on the channel for fun one day
@@autofanaticcars I really hope you do. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it from factory and see what you can do with it, especially from a handling perspective.
Why not buy GT3?
can not drive a GT3 as a daily in the NYC area not even an option as i do have other cars.
ct5-v blackwing with the 6spd, any thoughts
I am sure thats an awesome car but I honestly dislike the styling inside and out it just does not connect with me on any level because of that and the LT4 is such old news in a car i had one already in my CTSV and an LSA in my older CTSV. the Alfa in my opinion is way more fun to toss around.
What's going on with the 2018 QV?
incompetent techs from one shop caused lots of damage
Would love to see an e92
head over to my IG feed I posted some videos a few weeks ago of my cousins modded E92
What size wheel spacers do you have for the front and rear?
The Song from the end ?
Btw, im Gonna miss that red Giulia Quadrifoglio :(
𝓐𝓵𝓯𝓪 𝓡𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓸
yeah the red QV was really sweet and very well built and no more red stitch of interior on the QV so many options were discontinued even the carbon packages.
@@autofanaticcars :(
And the Song please ?
I have over 40K on my 2018 and at this point, only minor issues and nothing an OBD reader could not fix! LOL
great to hear ,my 18 fell victim to bad dealer techs unfortunately this is the norm for Alfa dealers all over it seems
Get the E90 4-Door if you get the M3 💪
my neighbor has one in Imola Red he rarely drives it.
@@autofanaticcars help him out by taking it off his hands for cheap lol (or atleast convince him to let you review it on the channel!)
Whats the black car?
my 2018 QV
What happened to the STELVIO?
we still have it and drive it daily
They stopped the red stitching?!
yes no more red stitch or red accent on interior, no more carbon package, no more carbon ceramic brakes and im sure more things have been discontinued.
Don't buy a Beemer their boring every body s got one
D’oh I was hoping to see how you fitted the Sliplo on the front especially with the active splitter.
Are there negatives putting bits in any areas that are meant to add downforce, etc.
As of last week I finally got my MY21 QV.
I will be doing the Sliplo on the 2018 one of these days, enjoy your 21 but please consider doing all of the modifications I showed in my last video to truly get the most out of these cars. Stock is nowhere near as fun or special.
Spending too much money. You anit gotta worry about what people think.
Get the M2 competition
Are u getting the stelvio quad
no more SUV I already have the Ti Sport
Get the GTAM
can not import into the USA
I think they could have done a better job with the stonework 8:00
totally irrelevant comment on the neighbors wall
Nice car
Please get a E92 M3
I am working on it regardless.
I vote on keeping the Shelby. Nothing like American muscle!!!
that one might be going next I just can not enjoy the GT350R anymore with the roads being so busted up and my back injuries so I barely drive it much. Makes no sense to have a car to stare at and not use.
@@autofanaticcars Okay. I hear you. Keeping my Escalade just for that purpose. Can’t beat the comfort level on long drives.
Get out of New York move to a republican state you will have better roads
You have awful luck with cars man...Not sure what is wrong with the Black Alfa but hope it works out.
where have you been the black car got fixed been great for over a year drive it daily still
2017 alfa remero ti
Цвет красивый 👍
WTH?
Talking about a BMW , finally !!! 🙏😁👍
Whaaat
First!!
Buy American.
next American car il buy is the new C8 Z06
Cars are world cars today and besides, not alot of Murica "cars" being made.
that new Z06 is gonna be mine once I can get one.
@@autofanaticcars I hope you do but I don't think the roads are going to improve anytime soon, LOL. BTW that rear of the C8🤮🤮🤮 Overall your Guilia looks WAAAAAAY better but enjoy your Z06 when you get it.
They look great but whey too many issues ! Better buy something german!
do not be fooled with German cars because they are nightmares when things go wrong, go visit any of those brands service centers to see how backed up they are with electrical issues and warranty repairs on new cars. Unfortunately its just how the entire automotive industry is going these days with competition, cost cutting and dealer support.
A broken Alfa is still better. hahah.
When I say better pick a german car I mean one produced between 2003 and 2010..like a 911 turbo which is a tank or a cls 55amg...even an old 911 turbo will hold better than a new alfa qv.. I m from Europe, I know what I say..
It’s a sharp looking car but I have no money for it, America for you, everything is Borrowed
