That piano looks like a joy to play.
The Yamaha seems to be a good enough piece of gear in it's own right but you have elevated it to an instrument that can be loved nd treasured for the rest of your life. (Or as long as the Yamaha electronics lasts, but in case they should break, you could always get another one to put in there.)

Everyone to some degree, but the haters especially, look at internet content to see themselves reflected in it. This can get more intense if it’s something friends/family shared with them. After all, we have incredible taste; we love of all our favorite things. So it’s like hearing someone talk about their perfect pizza and they list off every detail of your perfect pizza then on the last detail say “mustard”. This isn’t to excuse or defend, and I’m certainly not likening this great work to mustard on pizza. Just a perspective that makes it easy to let those comments drift on by like the clouds. Also, I’m happy to avoid the role of 1970s keyboard technician. Some of those are booked solid for more than a year. I spent $1k on my used SV-1 which sits in the living room, for me to noodle on, away from the computer. If it dies, I’m not gonna wait months. I could buy another one used and I’m still spending less than vintage. I’m jealous of the guy who’s back up and running after

Oh, for 21:32, I think people were initially upset about the TITLE of the video because they spent time watching the video expecting to see someone custom build a Rhodes clone or something. Love it man! I can't get over how our POV resonates with me. I wish you were closer I would ave loved to work together on some projects.. When I left Nashville I went to Florida to work in corporate circles.
I would love to see the scale process. I've always relied on my sketchup as modeling. Havent dove into 3d printing yet and working with 1/8" stock never sounded fun lol.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. Yeah the 1/8 stock and scaling was initially intimidating to me, but eventually I realized it's most about understanding the calculations behind the scale... there's a particular size that 3/4 material scales down to which makes that calculation way easier, and also translates evenly to router bits (so using a 1/16 bit in place of a 1/4 for instance) and makes it so the original full-scale design doesn't require much adjustment at all. Now I look forward to the miniature process, someday I'm going to make a scale of my house and furniture haha.
Also just FYI your comment on the other video STILL makes me laugh. Thanks a lot for checking this one out.

I've had great luck with it, I know some people have complaints about it - it's definitely a little more 'messy' than a typical print, like little stringy bits of debris from it end up on the build plate here and there... but since I'm already planning to be shaping the pieces further in the shop anyways it hasn't bothered me.

Nice! I am thinking of building me an eurorack cabinet. Any comments about using good quality plywood vs using solid wood on music related builds? Thanks again for sharing.
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video. For a Eurorack cabinet the biggest consideration with solid wood is really just wood movement, the solid woods will need to expand and contract seasonally a little bit (plywoods are basically a static size due to the alternating orientation of the woodgrains)... but I wouldn't think you should have too much issue since the rails would be attached near the front of the cabinet, which allows the remaining wood to expand/contract as needed. Euroracks tend to be fairly shallow so you shouldn't have to worry much about movement. Plywood will be less work overall, but will leave you with the exposed ply - which on a good quality furniture grade ply still looks pretty nice I think.

Let me go out on a limb and say that most of the angry commenters would not be able to distinguish between the reface and real thing in a blind listening test. People can't tell synth plugins or processor plugins these days so there's no way anyone is able to tell it's not a real rhodes.
