Cole, Charisma please do more of such videos. What I took away from this was that Cole is particularly very generous and willing to share any information pertaining his condition and doesn't hold back at all! he is comfortable with who he is and from a viewers point of view, it was such a delight to watch.

Cole and Charisma, thank you for offering your time to teach these new P.T. students the actual hands on experience. As a retired Firefighter/EMT, I remember the first time I did CPR vs how we were taught in the classroom environment, it was so much different. The patients arms and legs moving around with no control, the dead weight etc. Hands on skills in a case such as yours is by far the BEST Way for those students to learn. Both of you are certainly filling your life's calling. I'm sure throughout your youtube series, you have no doubt helped thousands of people along the way. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.

Thank you for this vlog. Due to the fact that I’ve been a caretaker to my mother who was no longer able to walk as her Alzheimer’s progressed, I feel this is something that caretakers can use in general. Many times when family members are caretakers, we don’t know proper ways to transfer and other things that will help our loved ones and ourselves. Thank you again and yes I know that this would be positive for on hand demonstrations, if you will, for students to get on hand knowledge prior to internships.

I loved going to PT classes so they could get hands on experience.. I am a paraplegic T8 level.I been paralyzed for 25 years.. but in the first 15 years or so I have been doing classes, (now I am to old and the younger ones are doing them lol) . Been to long classes where they had to access me and figure out my level and all, get my rainge ratio and all. see me do floor transfers and the crazy stuff we have to do in order to get in and out of the chair and dressing and so forth.
I hope you get to do this more, as it is so important for the PT students to see first and get to experience it with someone who really is paralyzed.
I enjoyed it and love to teach and show them an easier way of doing things that work for me and that maybe they can use it with their patients. It is so awesome to look back and than see your student as a real PT working at the hospital and they remember you and all.. Cole you will get more chances trust me, you have this positive attitude and willing to show and teach and help others. you are an inspiration to so many.

I believe by being so open and educating the public you're contributing to the knowledge base of individuals who will work in the therapeutic field and may possibly innovate, improving the lives of those in need of care, and possibly coming up one day with a cure. That actually looked like so much fun! Y'all should keep it up! It would be helpful for students to see an actual person and how they function, as opposed to just reading.

Charisma makes the transfer look so swift and easy but this stuff is tight. But am glad you guys are helping students out before they hit the rehabilitations.

It's wonderful to show how the disable can be apart of the process as well...and encouraging them to build up that strength where they can....when cole say he try to bounce over....that is cool....

Hey guys, I just discovered your channel and I have to say that the fact that you use yourself makes the experience real once they get in the field. I am a COTA myself and was fortunate enough to be a cna before being a therapist. It gave me a leg during clinical because I already knew certain things. Hands on are always the best way to learn but we just have this type of experience when going into clinicals but never during classes. Hope you get my point, sorry for being long

What a great learning experience for those students! As an OT, I know that more experiences like this in class versus actual practicums and fieldwork experiences only would have been nice. It's easier to learn when not under such scrutiny, and to learn through the trial and error you spoke of, Cole. You did a good job allowing the students room for error to learn from it. Thanks for taking the time to help train future practitioners, and for sharing the experience with us viewers.

My university, California State University Northridge has a PT/OT grad program too and I've come across some students where I go for my theraphy once I moved off campus

Go Hampton for having this program. I just shared this video on my FB page. I am a licensed mental health therapist with specializations in Drama and Play Therapy. I am usually one of few or the only one in the room who is a person of color. I am with you guys on changing that paradigm so that the helping professions have more diversity and equity.

This was fantastic because every patient's physical capabilities and injury will present unique abilities and needs, so textbook theory has its limitations. Thanks guys for helping these students out with their training.

Yes. I think you should continue lecturing with therapy programs, because its my belief you are reaching countless people across the globe, plus you are educating us along the way. Please do continue with your lectures.
