- After founding Rouxbe and now Swich, Dawn Thomas and Joe Girard knew it was time to move on from city living.
Now, they’re taking Swich on the road to their new home: beautiful Pender Island, British Columbia. Surrounded by nature (including adorable tree frogs), Dawn and Joe are about to dive head-first into their new chapter.

I'm a 1952 baby boomer that was raised on North Pender. Mom had to go to Vancouver to have my brother and me as there was no hospital or care for my Mom when she was pregnant on the Island. Since my soul and body had moved from the Island since I was 16, I dream about the Island on a regular basis. The silents, the Island Sounds, the birds, the flowing seasonal streams, smells, and serenity have stayed with me. Just found your You Tube Videos tonight. Watching your happiness, has brought me home. I love to cook and still open to become a better cook. I'm coming to visit soon. Thank you
Thank you for Swich and your vision to teach people to cook more plant based foods, all over the world! We live on the southern tip of Africa in a village called Mossel Bay. My daughters and grandchildren are vegetarian, so at 70 years of age, I am learning how to cook! May all your dreams come true!

How exciting! Don't know if you've ever heard of Paul Gautschi - Back to Eden - natural gardening using what is already in nature to grow - bigger and better. Also Shawn James, My Self Reliance, built a cabin in the wilderness and a garden in Ontario Canada. He even built a sauna.
I am going to check out both of these recommendations. I think I've heard of "Back to Eden (Paul)" but need all the help I can get. Thanks for the recommendations.

I look forward to your cooking recipes. I was referred to Pender from a lady from a social club we belong to; she lives in a neighboring area and suggested me to try Pender Island with my expertise. So, I'm from Ontario & going to try to get to Pender~hope to work in the SPA's --hopefully I'll be accepted with accomodations needed for me & my 2 Senior small dogs... who I already cook naturally for us all. Maybe I'll meet you & wife there, someday;

Totally loving this! Winona & I have been living full-time in our 5th Wheel for almost 4 years now, and are so excited that you have made similar decisions. We spent last winter at Living Forest Oceanside Campground and RV Park, (near Nanaimo) and are currently on the wide open prairies in Alberta for the summer. Looking forward to following your adventures! ... and maybe even running into you on the road! You should be easy to recognize! :-)

I just came across Switch and this is the first video I watched, you made me tear up because I so resonate with what you're saying. I've been trying to go plant based for 3 years but my husband and kids aren't on the same page and it's so frustrating. I feel so alone in my journey because I don't know any plant based people around me and so I struggle with making meals for my family. It's gotten more harder lately since my teens want to cook but don't want to make healthy meals so they just turn to heating up frozen foods. I want so badly to teach them but I struggle myself to make taste foods that will entice them to want to learn to cook plant-based healthy foods.

love your hair, just as it is... but your beard.. could use a trim, a bit of grooming, shaping.. beards are better looking trimmed up, 'clean & tidy'. your moustache too. don't be eating your hair--that's gross!..trim stache to the edge of your lips & keep it clean...please!😊
