- Swich’s co-founders, Dawn Thomas and Joe Girard, are about to start the adventure of a lifetime.
As founders of online culinary school, Rouxbe Cooking School, they discovered just how much learning to cook with more plants improves people’s lives. Now, they’re on a mission to help 100 million people learn to cook for FREE-a mission they’re so passionate about that they’re about to completely uproot their lives.
Follow along as Dawn and Joe leave big-city-living behind and move to tiny Pender Island, British Columbia, where they’ll call a 31 ft airstream home. Tune in to watch them set up a farm, prepare delicious and nutritious plant-based meals, and gear up to take Swich’s mission on the road across North America.

Wow, I used to live on Pender 42 years ago! Now I'm way on the East coast on PEI!
We almost moved to NS (Bras d'Or Lakes). Never been to PEI but here it is amazing.

What an exciting announcement! I live on Vancouver Island near Victoria. Support is fairly low on the island compared to those who live in the States. Those who live in Vancouver will soon be able to cross the border to get goods there that are not available in Canada. I've never been to Trader Joe's, or tried any of Rip's Engine 2 products because neither are available in Canada. Would love to meet you guys when that is possible. At least Pender Island is fairly accessible from where I live.
I can tell you that you will find some eager ones in the Courtenay area. They use to do raw food retreats there, and have a fantastic restaurant called Rawthentic. As the name indicates, the cuisine is raw. For those on WFPB (as I am) some of what they serve would have too much oil or agave for our liking, but lots of their stuff is safe for us, and very delicious. Hope that little tip helps you find some interest more readily. Look forward to meeting you soon.
