- Flashforge has pushed out a new firmware update for the Adventurer 5M printers that should address some issues introduced in the previous firmware. Updates are also available for the Flashprint and Orca-Flashforge slicers.

I updated to 2.6.6 and now cannot send larger files over wifi to the printer via Orca 2.0.0. They do send in Orca FlashForge but I prefer to use Orca 2.0.0 so for now I am transferring to the printer via USB.

I had commented on the last firmware update for the 5m Pro making the connection to the printer error and giving a camera error if able to connect. I had reinstalled the old firmware to correct these issues.
I updated this morning to this new firmware and updated my Flashprint and the Orca- Flash software and the issues have been corrected. FlashPrint connects with camera viewing and the Orca - Flash now connects and shows the camera. It also has temperature functions and fans functions. I am still able to connect and send prints to the printer from Orca v2.0 as well. When using Orca v2.0 I slice and send files to the printer and then monitor using Flashprint camera. I hope that the Orca- Flash software will update to the v2.0 for the seam update but I am glad that they did fix the issues with the firmware.

All updates done (Printer Firmwarev2.6.6, Orca Flashforge, FlashPrint). Two observations: 1. Orca Flashforge prompt downloads the Windows version, so if you're on a Mac you'll need to find the correct installer on the Flashforge software site. 2. After the printer firmware update you may have to redo the Wi-Fi set up (this has happened with the previous firmware update). Its not a biggie, just be mindful if you cannot see the printer in Orca Flashforge Device that will likely be what has been lost in the printer update.
Also DO NOT FORGET to re-run the Calibration as if a new machine.
Other than that, all looks okay. I ran a test slice and print, its all okay.
Jeremy, I am on version 2.7 of the firmware and do not have issues. What I do have is the nozzle hits the print during travel moves. I do have ZHop enabled in orca but it still does it. Gyroid infill helps but I would like to solve is once and for all. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
You can try adding a brim for more stability and/or lowering the speed of the printer from the menu while the print is in progress.
@@FigureFeedback I did not know you could slow a print down from the menu. I have been using a brim, that keeps it stuck to the bed but doesn’t fix the noise. It seems like the z move is too slow. I’ll see if that speed change fixes it. It was really loud printing the enclosure top sections but they all came out ok. Thanks again!

No issues, but the update did fix my network LAN issue with my work A5M. Was only getting "Comms" om printer status, now I can access and it states "Online"
Am I the only one who can't get a stable video connection over wifi? Tried both 2.4 and 5 ghz and the camera cuts out every 20 seconds or so... My router is on the other side of the room, so I can't really send an ethernet cable without making it very visible...
No issues yet, just updated this morning and did two successful prints over wifi with Orca Slicer.
I hope Flashforge finally makes a properly working printer sooner rather then later. The Adventurer 5M is clearly good hardware with beta firmware/software that's holding it back from matching any of the other well established brands.
Combined with some of the worst technical support I've delt with and you have a printer not worth the money. Never buy a printer based on promises of things to come, this is one of the best examples of this...
I wish they would make it so that the probe temp for bed leveling happens at whatever your first layer setting is in the g-code. It is annoying when I don't want the bed to be heated but it heats the bed to 60°C just to probe and then it has to cool off before it will start the print (That can take a really long time if your room is already warm).
Actually got my just yesterday and it had an update and this morning had the new update. But what I’m noticing is that once I do my usb swap and go to print. It’s starts but then just sits for what seems to be 15/20min. I don’t know what’s with it but I redid the slice used flash print. It then changed the board on orca and now it works. Made two fnaf action figures and also fallout figure helmets for my little boy.

Started a print this morning, a case for an arduino, the bed warmed up and 25 mins later it still hadn’t started printing. I cancelled the print and restarted the printer, started print again and no trouble after that.
I plugged in a usb webcam after the initial update and it just freezes my printer when I try to view it

BEWARE, if your are using the official FlashForge enclosure where you print your own parts and use acrylic panels you will be VERY sad. The camera cable is too short to reach the taller screen position. When I contacted their tech support I was given "check out of videos on how to install" despite me telling them the cable was too short.
Tried to make my own cable with an extension but ended up getting unreliable connection. Likely due to my soldering but regardless official design should work with official camera one would think...
Worst tech support and makes Comcast look like they know what they are doing...

my leveling isn't working anymore...
My 5M arrived with a broken connection at the tape insert to touchscreen. The printer was able to calibrate, but I had to press the tape into the receptor. This was a very short fix; never produced image on the screen; and began to overheat on the right. My ? is: can I access/operate/ utilize printer without the touchscreen? LAN? Direct connect?
Please please answer the question if possible.l
There are some things you need the touchscreen for such as loading filament. Given the issues you're experiencing, I think it's best if you return that printer for a replacement.

Yes you can print PETG with the bed it came with. I do it all the time.
How can you roll back to the last version of firmware if needed?
I was able to download the older firmware for my 5M Pro onto a usb drive from the Flahforge web site. You need to take all the files out of the folder and add to the USB drive so it will boot on start up. I shut off the WIFI on the printer and restarted with the usb drive connected. It installed the firmware as an update and after a restart the printer is back to old firmware.
Looks like exclude_object doesn't work anymore, either. Flagged 3 items to skip on my 5M with the new firmware, and now I've got a pile of spaghetti where my chameleon should have been.
Oh no! Did you use Orca-Flashforge or the regular OrcaSlicer?

No update available from either OTA or on the website again. Apparently they pulled it again. DAMN IT.
It's still showing up for me when I manually check for the update from the printer's settings.
It just says I have the latest firmware. But I don't. 😭
