    rules corrections
    -01:38:00 the enemy would not have moved because it only moves if there are no targetable units.
    -01:39:43 I am out of range and Scamps should have gotten the W (Range=Stamina or Magic Stat)
    -01:14:36 the NPC should not have moved because it was at the edge of the map.
    -I should have started the game with 2 xp.
    -Companions do not count towards Ep calc. (makes up for not starting with 2 xp :)
    -Bonus Xp does not increase your Party Xp 1:21:43

    It is fun to see a game make loot super meaningful.

      Yeah with my very tiny sample size it feels more powerful than TMB loot. I think they certainly balanced for you having loot…sown if these persistent effects are insane

    Watching you learn before playing helps me a lot thank you for showing us this. Most just film themselves playing after they have locked down the rules but I prefer seeing you ask the questions they we would as well while you learn we learn.

      Yeah I am hoping it has that effect I am glad it is helping. I often stress about having every thing perfect but thought I would change things up to show you how the sausage was made :) I am not sure it is the most efficient way for someone to learn the game. I am working on that problem through out this play which you will see in the next episode.

    Thanks for this episode! Interesting that you go for a (seemingly) more complicated class at first.
    I noticed a few things:
    Bonus XP does not! increase the XP tracker.
    Range of an Engagement is determined either by stamina (for stamina skill lines)
    Or magicka (for magicka skill lines)
    You actually start the game with 2 XP if I remember correctly. Also I think companions are not added for enemy pool calculation.
    Love the daily content

      thanks for the help, I have confirmed all of these but the companion calc which is a good catch, I got tripped up on it being a member of the party but not an adventurer and the book referring to party xp times adventurers at least that makes up for the missing Xp to start.

  • @ChristopherOdd

    This is so fun to watch. It looks incredibly complex and it’s fun watching you churn through it.
    At 1:04:35 I’m curious, the card “these do look pretty sharp” says adventurers cannot move onto caches. Is that specific to this quest? Does that mean you wouldn’t have been able to go for that cache here?
    God knows I’d be missing so much stuff here so I might be totally wrong.
    Edit: And of course 1 minute later you figured it out. 😂

    • @Neon_Gorilla

      Good catch:) yeah I am certainly churning through it. This was almost 4 hours of footage (thank god for text based auto cut editing) so you can imagine how much churning there actually was .

    1:34:45, whenever we have a cocked die, when a dice rolled is not parallel to the rolling surface, anyone can (and will) call out a cocked die. Another player, especially an opponent, gets to place another die on top of the cocked die. If the cocked die is tilted enough where the die on placed on top slides and falls off, they must reroll the cocked die. If the placed on top die does not fall off, keep the result. It's a little dexterity mini game. If the opponent wants the die rerolled, they'll try to place it in their favor, where it can fall off easily, to a fair placement, still. The drama and tensions builds as steady hands place a die on top.
    But of course, if I'm playing solo, I always take the die face in my favor.

    I believe there is a Game Phase reference on the back of the tutorial book if you have the latest PDF. Also, bonus exp doesn’t increase your dial exp count. That is the bonus part 😊

    Just in case - 1:14:36 NPC won't move, see NPC Overland Movement p.46 ("If the token is instructed to move in a specific direction and there are no adjacent hexes in that direction (such as at the edge of the map), the token ends its current move"). Also you start the game at 2XP unless you do the Jailbreak encounter which has its own rule of starting at 1 XP (and still ending at 2 XP). And companions does not affect EP (Party Size, p.36 or Enemy Pool, p.54, "To calculate the EP value, multiply the party’s total XP as shown on the XP Dial by the number of adventurers")

    Remember, each snipe die you roll ignores 1 defense. This stacks. So if you roll 2 snipe dice for 1 damage each on a 2 defense enemy, you would do a total of 2 damage straight to HP.

    • @Neon_Gorilla
      @Neon_Gorilla  20 днів тому

      Oh this makes it so much better!

    • @chosendave1023
      @chosendave1023 20 днів тому

      @Neon_Gorilla it It was a big topic on CTG's Discord, as all damage is calculated at the same time, but the rule states that you resolve each die one after the other. So people were wondering if the ability itself (ignoring one defense) stacks at the same time, and it was confirmed by Shannon from CTG.
      Something to note, and it is a mistake in a lot of playthroughs: whenever you resolve a die [i], meaning instant, you resolve all the effects before placing it in cooldown. For example, the 2-handed level 1 die that gives 2 fatigues to deal 3 damage, if I remember correctly, would play like this : gain 2 fatigues and then place your skill die after. Most are doing: 3 damage, then cooldown, then 2 fatigue.

      @@sparkmagea99 Bow, Sword&Board and Two-Handed are most straightforward for a basic build with almost any class as they give you simple and accessible damage, although they all have skills and builds that will make them very complex :D Especially for someone like Nord, I'd say these three are the best beginning skill to get some XP and jumpstart your build ;) Another thing is that for a new player playing solo, bow and stealth will offer them good damage combined with safety to deal it. If you're playing in a party, having something like a Sorcerer with a Destro Staff and a healer with something tanky like Sword&Board is most straightforward and strong for a beginner.

    Posting as I am watching.I didn’t see this brought up yet. Sorry if it was. You may want to reread the formula for figuring EP. It takes the parties exp (the exp dial) times number of adventures, not party members.
