Great showcase of this pedal James! I didn't know about this pedal, it's pretty cool! You definitely get a nice meaty Metal tone with that pedal, sounds great! 🤘🏻🤘🏻😁
Normally it takes a bit of time to get to know a new pedal. Not so with my Rat 2. The pedal is just an endless series of highly diverse and usable sounds. Very easy to dial in, and it fits so many situations.
Got a clone of the Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 recently (which is based on a rat, has the LM308 chip etc) but it was huge on my board and I was only really using the drive section of it, so decided to replace it for a Proco RAT 2, amazing pedal, build quality is great and it sounds perfect. Very versatile when using the distortion and filter controls together and adjusting each to suit, goes from low drive distortion to fuzz-esque doomy tones (which I use it for).
"As you hear it gives you a really wide variety of tonal range just through the filter" What I heard was nothing happen for the first half of the knob turn, then the mids drop out a little bit during the later half. Essentially two tones. Least effective knob ever. My friend Lance had a Rat in the 90s. I thought it was a cheap shitty pedal back then and this video does nothing to alter that perception
That Superheaven intro sounded absolutely great with the rat.
I got mine this year and it replaced my Big Muff. I love the damn thing.

I also like to boost my rat with a boss metalzone for heavier tones. Gets everything from 80s hair metal to brutal 90s death and sludge metal tones.
I'll have to give that a try

LM 308’s aren’t special. Same chip as the OP07. Slew rate is the same.
@ nope exactly, hence why I swapped it for a current version of the proco rat 2, sounds just as good 😊
I love my little white-faced rat :)
