That SG is a thing of beauty James! I love that green colour, and it sounds great! I had a knock off SG made by Vintage for my first guitar, but I never really got on with it. Ironic you playing some AC/DC with it, saw them at Wembley the other week! It was amazing! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻

That's a pretty cool amp James. I know Metallica have always used these amps since Ride the Lightning. So if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me! Sounds great 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Both great sounding pedals in their own right, but I think I have to say the Phase 90 is my fave

My only issue with this video is, that the MXR does not exaclty sound like good UniVibe. I think, it has been debate to death and the consensus is, it was recorded with UniVibe and Leslie cab and live David used phaser (because of practicality). If you nail the licks and and some warbly modulation, it will work. PS: That MXR UniVibe sounds really bad to my ears.

Wah-tastic James! Love the sound of the wah pedal, I have a Vox myself and used it on my solo projects! It's great, does everything I want it to. However, the crybaby sounded awesome! 😁🤘🏻

I had one of these way back in I think 07-08 when they first came out. Sounded really good it just didn’t last long.

You’ve got it arse backwards. He wasn’t saying it was great, what he was saying was that the price of Klons is absurd because a bad monkey sounds as good

I think for the Tele and Gretsch the Bad Monkey sounded better. However, for the high gain at the end I think the Ibanez Tube Screamer sounded the better. Both pretty cool 🤘🏻🤘🏻

One thing people really misinterpreted was that the Bad Monkey was "great". The point of the video where the Bad Monkey exploded wasn't that it was anything exceptional, but rather that you don't need to spend an insane amount of money to get gear with the "right opamp" or "magic diodes", but rather you can likely use what you already own to get close enough that it'd be near indistinguishable in a band or mix setting. The irony of that, of course, is people totally ignored the point and took a pedal that was previously around $60 used and started charging insane prices. That being said, it's definitely a solid Tubescreamer clone, and the additional bass control helps make it more versatile than a standard TS.

I like mine but by Boss SD-1 and BD-2 pedals are my favorite. The Bad Monkey seems to color my base tone more than I want and adds a midrange honk that I don’t care for.

It’s a very clean sounding distortion, if that makes sense. I can see why he likes it. It’s great!
