I tend to use earthy tones in watercolor too, I just like the soft, cozy, handmade aesthetic of it. Idk, when I think about watercolor I think gentle and flowy. I gotta experiment with brighter watercolors, lmao.

As someone who doesn't do a lot of traditional art anymore and mostly digital, I think the digital piece was very nice! It was very smooth and well shaded.
I do a lot of line-less, realistic/cartoony art (as seen by profile picture.. yesImadeit) and I think yours was very nice. I don't know where I went with that.
But my favorite has to have been the gouache piece. It seems very nice. I don't think it really matters on the paint/to/water ratio when you're the person making it. It's very lovely!

I love the colors in the marker illustration, I think it’s a perfect balance of saturation! Comparing your watercolored illustration to the rest really shows you how desaturates it is, which isn’t a bad thing, but I think brighter colors work better for the character. (Just my opinion, don’t change anything if you don’t want to!)
Also, copics have a VERY wide skin tone selection!! (53 earth tones! And you can use more than just earth tones for skin, like YR000 or R00 for very pale skin)

    KASEY!
hey! i have some alcohol marker advice for you! ( hopefully it can help you improve a little bit more )
personally i started with copic markers. and since i used a really nice brand before i tried ohuhu, i realized that the ohuhu markers do not have the exact ink in the marker that you see on the cap. so id try another brand such as artist’s loft dual tip markers. they are basically copics but about 3.99 - 4.99 instead of 7.99. i suggest using them because it gives you a better taste of what it feels like when using copic or prismacolor. and when you buy artists loft, you can buy them in pack such as floral tones or skin tones. eventually you will get the hang of it and improve a ton.
i love your work, and it has helped me improve in the water color department so much! you’re a great artist and inspiration. never give up!

Your watercolor looks the best afterall! Though I also really like the posca pen one because all of the colors just go together so nicely. Props to you for being creative and thinking of this idea.

my favorite one is the posca pen one. I really like those bright colors and the blue line art, and I also really like the wideness of the character. I also really like those shape backgrounds.

I’ve been drawing for years, painting too. Something always felt missing though. I tried different pencils, markers, and paints, and still nothing. And then a month ago I tried digital art for the first time and everything just clicked. I finally found my style and my favourite way to make art because of you, thank you ❤️

Fascinating to see the same subject in different mediums. I like the lineless ones (digital and Gouache) the most.
I mostly work in Gouache and haven't really gotten the hang of watercolors yet. To get the right consistency with Gouache, it might help you to use a brush for Acrylics instead of a Watercolor one. A UA-camr gave me that advice and it's made a huge difference for me.

Took me another couple of viewings but I can say that I think the alcohol markers are a happy medium between the earthy, muted colors and the vivid colors you make with different mediums. I really liked the alcohol markers drawing.

Dang. All of these are absolutely gorgeous. I thought the tine weren't that earthy, looks like I was wrong. I really loved your Posca drawing. Something about such bright flat up front colors are just wowing. Have you ever thought about doing a drawing with watercolor pencils? I have some (lost most of them), and even though I don't use them much, I love them.

Oohohohoho, now I HAVE to draw human Hatch. They're super friggin adorable! :D I think I love the digital and gouache version the best, but the posca pens one is a close second because it reminds me of really pretty pop art which is super coolio. You've kinda really encouraged me this year to branch out and get better at watercolor and gouache, so, thank ya for that lol. This video was really cool :3
