I tend to use earthy tones in watercolor too, I just like the soft, cozy, handmade aesthetic of it. Idk, when I think about watercolor I think gentle and flowy. I gotta experiment with brighter watercolors, lmao.

Ok so the paint to water thing with gouache- DOUBLE CREAM!!!! Most youtubers I see new to gouache make it thicker than double cream and it annoys me that they waste paint, it will crack when it dries and they don’t get the effect of the paint lying flat so you can see the texture of the paper through it
Yah! It's something I'm still learning to get a handle on, unfortunately I've only got myself to use gouache... three times? Haha. I'll get the hang of it... eventually...

As someone who doesn't do a lot of traditional art anymore and mostly digital, I think the digital piece was very nice! It was very smooth and well shaded. I do a lot of line-less, realistic/cartoony art (as seen by profile picture.. yesImadeit) and I think yours was very nice. I don't know where I went with that. But my favorite has to have been the gouache piece. It seems very nice. I don't think it really matters on the paint/to/water ratio when you're the person making it. It's very lovely!

My personal favourite medium is watercolor and I think it’s my favourite because you can blend, shade, mix, and dull down colors easily and all of that is really helpful when I draw my OC Sete who is a person but a sunset. She has to be very pastel and blended really nicely so it is very very helpful

I love the colors in the marker illustration, I think it’s a perfect balance of saturation! Comparing your watercolored illustration to the rest really shows you how desaturates it is, which isn’t a bad thing, but I think brighter colors work better for the character. (Just my opinion, don’t change anything if you don’t want to!) Also, copics have a VERY wide skin tone selection!! (53 earth tones! And you can use more than just earth tones for skin, like YR000 or R00 for very pale skin)
I really like all of them! Especially when they are all in the same shot, it's so cool to see them all together. I think my favorite is the gouache. the colors are so bright and the shading looks reeeaalllly great.

I’m really lovin’ the gouache! I loooove bright, opaque colors and it just looks to clean! But it’s also got more character than the digital art, which is also something I really like. But I’m also Japanese and I grew up with posca pens and copic markers so I always feel giddy inside when you use them or enjoy coloring with them :D

KASEY! hey! i have some alcohol marker advice for you! ( hopefully it can help you improve a little bit more ) personally i started with copic markers. and since i used a really nice brand before i tried ohuhu, i realized that the ohuhu markers do not have the exact ink in the marker that you see on the cap. so id try another brand such as artist’s loft dual tip markers. they are basically copics but about 3.99 - 4.99 instead of 7.99. i suggest using them because it gives you a better taste of what it feels like when using copic or prismacolor. and when you buy artists loft, you can buy them in pack such as floral tones or skin tones. eventually you will get the hang of it and improve a ton. i love your work, and it has helped me improve in the water color department so much! you’re a great artist and inspiration. never give up!
ive already tested out markers, watercolours, digital, acyric, and poster colours (?) watercolour and digital, I really loved working with them. the others, not so much currently saving up for gouache

Took me another couple of viewings but I can say that I think the alcohol markers are a happy medium between the earthy, muted colors and the vivid colors you make with different mediums. I really liked the alcohol markers drawing.
