I absolutely love that jazz gets proud of his art but in a none cocky way. Like his genuinely shocked he can do art and I think it's so genuine I love it!
I agree! I think it’s how I wish my classmates at art school would talk about their own work as it’s not as fun to see people talk down on themselves all the time! It’s ok to acknowledge when you’ve gone wrong, but that’s always just an opportunity to improve
I hate artists who say. they are really good at art. it’s really smug. I consider myself an artist, but I would never say i’m good at art, it feels morally wrong
@EB I know, right? I know I do art, but I’m always finding so many ways to improve, it even makes me sort of awkward when others say I’m good at art. Ah yes. That sentence had very correct structure. Oh well, got my point across well enough
I would love to see you try the traditional Chinese leaf art where you use a stencil, boil a dry leaf and then tap over the stencil gently until the leaf becomes transparent everywhere but where your stencil is. It is an incredible art
It's neat how the two Joker artworks accidentally complement each other really well. They display opposing emotions which just so happen to match classic comedy/tragedy masks (rather fitting for Joker's character), and were created with similar but reversed techniques (one was revealed by pouring from a dustpan, the other was revealed by scraping away with a squeegee)
The way the purple absorbed into the bare spots on the Greek philosopher piece had me thinking you could probably use that to create shadows. So you draw the highlights, leave the shadows blank, and scrape over with black paint to fill those spots in.
Jazza inadvertently learning how serigraphy (screen printing) monotyping works, I love it. Adding a base medium (instead of more paint to pull the design), and using a screen squeegee would yield more predictable and controlled results. Very awesome!
To be honest, that last Joker painting is so freaking good! I just love the expression on his face and the feelings that screams through. I wanna buy it. 😮💨
It’s really interesting how art is moving in this sort of direction! Where it’s not just about the end result, it’s also about the process. What makes the squeegee art so cool is not just the end result, but the way you got there. I think if you were to see just the end result, it wouldn’t nearly be as impressive. The making of the art is an art form in of itself! It says a lot about art and how it’s being made in the age of Instagram and social media. Very well done!
I think art should be something you put in your home. Not some preschool art project. I do think if it was to be for fun, then yes, but I dont think that those random people trying these “trends”, on things like tik tok is necessarily going to become real style. In other words I dont think the process will mean anything to the final process in terms of value
@jamesl9171 I disagree, especially considering what AI can produce. Now when people see artwork, they want visual proof that an artist created it rather than a computer.
@@Thezellofamily but that is why there is things like documentation and video proof, plus, you don’t have much of an argument saying why it would affect value and why people would buy artwork because it of what they did, not the final product. Please state your argument
I love watching Jazza reverse-engineer new mediums and techniques. And including the dabbles alongside the dives really showcases the learning process. The philosopher and joker squeegee pieces turned out way cool too!
I think this video really shows what most creative people love about their hobbies. It's not only about the end result, it's about diving straight into learning and perfecting the process. And sometimes the end result can be so cool that you surprise even yourself.
