@@artofjesskarp I love all your drawings mam, keep going, you give me tips and ideas for drawing. Everyday I think what to draw, then I remember your channel and click and then see some pretty drawings and tips to learn better. Thank you sooo much❤️😍🤗
This. I was wondering why my art never popped like I wanted it to. I bought nicer and nicer pencils, I used a ton of different blending and outlining methods... and then once I learned those and THEN got some toned grey and tan paper... it just took my art to the level I wanted it to.
By far the best art supply video I’ve seen. I’ve used a chunk of those supplies and I’ll be trying out some of the new stuff. If anyone complains about using ballpoint pens for ink drawings, I’ll show them this. Bic is my favorite pen and I always keep a bunch on hand. Edit: I bought some Palomino Blackwings while on sale. I really like the texture of the lead. It's easier to control.
Seriously i love painting but now i love it even more. Thanks for your advice, i was looking for a bigger size sketchbook and i will try your recommendations. Thanks for it!
I've seen 3 of her sketchbook tours, and eachone I want to get that brand of book. Now she's got a Davenport too. I wondered about all of those. I've got a block of Arches and I'm trying to learn watercolor, but a smaller actual sketchbook would be nice. I hear 100% watercolor paper is the best and I'm not sure one exists in book form. But what is the spiral bound book you use to show some products in, it's not bound all the way but some spirals at both ends?
This is life art supply goals for me!!! You explained each thing so nicely, and i can actually feel the love you have for your supplies from your voice... Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Really helped me in deciding what to use. I tend to buy way too much, which is overwhelming. Over the last few years, I have been working 2 jobs and not doing anything but sketching which I do almost nightly while listening to music or even watching documentaries, crime stories and movies on the internet. No TV. I'm hoping to move soon, where I will have a studio and get back into the swing of things and your video was very informative! Thanks so much!!!
Jess you are the absolute best. I'm a self taught artist from Africa and art supplies have been the one thing I felt I miss out on. Your video helps me alot! I want to do ink drawings with vibrant highlights. I shall look up some of the supplies you mentioned. Esp the paints and surfaces. So thank you! Love your art too!😍😍
Ugh I love this. I'm headed to art school in the fall so having some suggestions for relatively inexpensive but effective art supplies is really helpful. Also, just as a writing pen, the Pentel Slicci is like my favorite pen ive ever used.
When you showed your color pencil collection, my heart went !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to stop wanting so many things but that collection is my life goal
Omgg thank you so much, I've been looking for a great coloured pen and a very thin eraser, I didn't know that tombow had one!! And also, it's just amazing that you made a video about ALL the mediums you love, usually people make one for watercolor, one for pencils, one for markers... Etc. But this is all-in-one! XD
@artofjesskarp you are a superb artist, and have been a great inspiration for me to pick up drawing again. I am surprised though, to see a Staedtler Ergosoft in your collection. I was so dissapointed when Staedtler switched the old 1278 series to a soft core and made the Ergosoft, because that meant they had to inject ABS thermoplastic around the core (as reinforcement for break resistance) creating a lot more of microplastic pollution with every sharpening. Then again, most multi-national pencil manufacturers are switching from lacquer, to hot-melt polyester finishes due to cost, not to mention vynyl erasers, so there is that… Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your work and your videos!
Thank you for such a complete list of supplies! I am a beginner as yet but, am happy to see that you are using many of the supplies I am as well! Now, I just have to practice, practice, practice! 😊

What an incredible overview, just jam-packed with info. Even better than Col erase is the Uni Arterase. They are softer than the col-erase so are a bit more pleasant to work with. They're harder to get (I'm in Australia and had to buy them directly from Japan) but they are awesome.
I really enjoyed the video! I have quite a lot of drawing materials as my mother used to paint. But the most important thing is: You don’t really need them to be good!
