An important thing to note about MCStacker (or using summon commands in general), if you add any NBT for mobs like skeletons, it will wipe their default held item and any armor items they might have spawned with if you don't fill out those fields. If you want them to have custom data but you still want the vanilla random armor or enchants on their weapon, you can merge the data with the /data command after they spawn. Additionally, jacobsjo has an alternative for Chunkbase which allows you to get biome/structure maps for custom worlds edited with mods or datapacks
Good tip. For the merging you can use the /execute summon command to immediately run the /data merge command on the summoned entity. So for a skeleton: /execute summon minecraft:skeleton run data merge entity @s {YourCoolNbtData}
MCA selector lets you delete unused chunks in your world. This not only significantly reduces your file size but also lets you delete chunks that you don't use so that you can regenerate them for new updates. That way, you won't have to travel super far out to find new chunks to render to find new structures. You can choose chunks manually or have it automatically choose based on how much time you've spent in them or if you've placed any blocks in them, etc. Super handy
The Minecraft wiki actually uses Chunkbase code on its structure pages. It also has some similar tools built into their appropriate pages like a banner preview.
Some of my recommendations from my toolbox: "Axiom" Mod (Basically Blender in Minecraft lol since its release I never touched any other building mod or plugin), "NBT Autocomplete" Mod (As the name suggests it previews everything you can do with commands not like vanilla where only rlly basic stuff has autocomplete), "FZMM" Mod (Lots of features like a banner maker, a head generator or an image to text generator and many other small useful things), "Better Highlighting" Mod (Makes commands highlight like they would in VSCode with the Spyglass extension installed) and as someone with a keyboard layout where you have to press altgr all the time for special characters like @ or {}, the "Fix Alt Gr" Mod is a life saver.
*Please heed my advice!* I don't recommend Axiom. The dev is absolutely out of his mind about legal stuff, and makes you go through hoops to even use the mod on servers. He says it's to get money from people who use Axiom commercially, but I run a non-profit server with no ads, purchases or donations, and still had to get all of my staff members to individually go to his discord server so they can be verified to use the mod. I would absolutely not trust this guy with anything, there's no telling what this mod can do to your game or machine if he snaps, given that he already knows which person is which. This is extremely dangerous!
Any chance for a backend tool video? Are you running on bare metal or cloud VM's? containers or direct JVM? What JVM flags are you using? What does the discord look like for managing a bunch of content creators? Any discord MC bridges? Do you have remote rcon or other tooling for when you are out and about? I would also be interested in the github to client syncing thing you mentioned before.
Nice to see the GamerGeeks banners up there, thanks for the shout out. Funny seeing the Christmas decorations up, that means this video was filmed this month .... fresh! Huge fan of all the sites mentioned there 🤩
What a great Minecraft video. Such a breath of fresh air over the thousands of “I’m building” videos. There’s a whole technical side of things to Minecraft, and this is a great video that shows all the options that everyone can utilize as well to help. Thank you!
With the MCStacker, my buddies and I would use this tool for some of our Survival worlds to summon horses with a much higher speed than normal. Honestly makes traveling the world a lot easier and a lot more fun.
I’ve used map art craft for a long time. The developer is a map artist on 2b2t. I’ve been a map artist on that server as well and this generator has been so helpful in that.
ChunkBase only works on a few latest versions (1.14+) I think, but there's an alternative called MCSeedMap which works on all full release versions down to 1.0
This is great! I haven't been playing much Minecraft lately but I'm bookmarking this to come back to for next time I get into the game. Lots of stuff here I look forward to playing with!
Love this type of video! Both from a general mc perspective and admin! It’s very useful. A suggestion for other videos like this: something that reviews updated client and server side mods that hermitcraft uses?
SUPER HELPFUL video! I'm building a huge mini-game (mini?) with custom biomes, custom mob spawning, treasure vaults, and all sorts of things I've had to use some of these tools and learn a ton about commands, scorecards and nbt data... just saved this video into my notes!
These are all very useful, learned some new things I haven't played with, and definitely want to look into the chess banners and fireworks, it would be so lovely to get back into fireworks and play chess in vanilla!
Oooo I've been wondering what tools were used for the maps and shulkers, along with how to find them. This will definitely be useful in the future so thanks Xisuma!
I've been using Litematica recently to project my redstone builds onto the server my friend runs, it's leagues easier than what I used to do which was taking loads of screenshots and writing down notes on the build process. I still might need notes on things that don't get preserved in the schematic, like weird things I need to do to get blocks into certain places, but it's so much easier than before!
Unrelated to the video You must get that a lot but thanks X, you always put out great content. I've been following for so long, I was just a teen looking to learn redstone, and now I'm a programmer.
If you have a long time world (mine started in 2016, I think 1.9), Chunkbase becomes interesting: you need to select the correct version for the part of the world you want to see. "Ah, there's a mesa ... oh, in 1.12." turns out in 1.19 it's a cold ocean. Yeah, had that happen. Or "oh, there's a ocean monument" ... nope, not in the current version. Anyway, I do use it often, you have to know your world if it's had several versions, but: it can do it (and that's actually amazing).
One tool I would love is something to allow me to merge builds from different worlds, I have hosted many servers with different mods and versions so if it can handle replacing modded blocks and be compatible with all versions that would be best. Would make for a super cool world, I think monkey farm did something like this a long time ago.
This is probably a throwback for someone out there, but does anyone remember spritecraft? I have been looking for an alternative for so long and now I know of one! Thanks X!
i think my most used minecraft tool is misode's data (and resource) pack generators, especially when upgrading my world (or even resource pack) i think it's Super easy to get into if you'd like a bit more customization in your world? like making the grass or foliage colors of a biome you like more interesting, or adding whole new biomes! or making custom challenge advancements that have your own personal requirements (and paired with some functions... you can do all Sorts of things.....)- even just making advancements that're only there to trigger functions, like if you want to make a special item make a special hit sound it literally only takes 2 commands and a Tiny bit of advancement work... also there's worldtype generators if you'd like your nether to be a checkerboard of biomes? or maybe you'd like your end to be a cave world! there's so much potential for customization!!! go! use these tools for evil!!! make diamonds only generate in a specific biome and see how long it takes for them to find it out! make an advancement/function pair that silences wolves when you feed them rotten flesh! customization is simple and accessible! it might still be vanilla but we've got syrups!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Mojang should update fireworks to give them more patterns. There is so much they could do and it is just kind of said that they haven't been touched in years, besides turning your crossbow into a rpg
This is really great. But the only thing missing here is that the tools youtubers use to create replica statues like a replica of a sniffer or relica of a warden. Do they use any tools to make obj to schematics?
Hey Xisuma, did you know of the program/mod/plugin BlueMap? It's a way to view your worlds in 3D in your browser! Super cool! A bit like Dynmap, but actually fully 3D instead of 2D (or a specific locked perspective 3D)
If you know Python, I'd also recommend Twoolie's NBT library, which makes it possible to script search functions ("Where did my Allay escape to?" "Do I have any unused vaults in this trial chamber?") while also being capable of editing world and entity data.
How is your hotbar elevated like on bedrock? Is it possible with a resource pack now? I love that look and I always had to use the "bedrockify" mod for it, but it would be nice if there was a vanilla method. I know you are a big big youtuber and Im just a small small commenter but I really wanna know!
Hey Xisuma, I heard you talking about about your PC having problems in a tango vod, from working at helpdesk it sounds like a ram problem. IDK something to look into
Hey X, A long time ago in a previous season of HC, you did a 5x5ish mural (I think of a cow or mooshroom) made out of banners, in that episode you said you used a tool to generate all the different banners you needed. Is that part of the banner tool you showcased in this video or was that something different?
Update for future people who might have the same question: it works (turns out biome and structure generation is identical between normal and amplified worlds), however I've had a few occasions where the Y coordinate doesn't match up exactly, presumably because amplified worlds stretch everything in the vertical direction. This has also meant stuff like rivers that should exist don't (due to the bottom of the river bed rising above the water level). But in terms of just what biomes and structures are where in the X/Z plane, it works perfectly.
I'm looking for a replacement for MCC Tool Chest PE, since it's no longer being updated & doesn't work as well as it used to, since the latest update of Bedrock. Does anyone know of one?
I used to like Novaskin, but it's gotten much glitchier over the years than when I first tried it. It does (mostly) still work, and being able to both rotate to look from any angle and turn off individual body parts is quite nice. After every time I frustratedly give up and try some other website I do still keep going back, and I guess technically I am recommending it here, but it's definitely not as ideal as it used to be. Something important to note if you try Novaskin is that there's actually two different options for a player skin editor. You can use the one labeled "skin editor", or you can go into the resource pack creator and edit Alex or Steve. The skin editor has a sometimes-useful feature where you can pop up and draw directly on the flat version of the skin as well as the player model. The resource pack editor, though, does have the more major advantage of being able to set transparency in the color picker.
As much as i like chunkbase, it doesnt work for me. My survival world has been going for almost 6 years and seen each version since 1.14. Amidst was able to read generated chunks and assume ungenerated chunks based on the seed, which chunkbase doesnt do.

This is kind of useful since Minecraft has now decided that they no longer want to be putting out quality updates or feature updates anymore and they’ve become very lacklustre this is kind of useful since we now have to be making our own updates
This is honestly useful since many people use tools behind the scenes and never really tell anyone
I just hoped that this video would be a bit more technical, and that he would show the apps/websites he uses to get access to the Minecraft code
Yeah. First to know what is possible, second because there is also malicious software and websites.

Yes, this and how they add changes to their texturepack with git.
OMG I'd love a technical breakdown of the server setup!
Wow
This is why I'm still subscribed to this channel, thank you!

With the MCStacker, my buddies and I would use this tool for some of our Survival worlds to summon horses with a much higher speed than normal. Honestly makes traveling the world a lot easier and a lot more fun.
I’ve used some of these. All super useful when planning out a world. I wouldn’t have my slime prison farm without it
I’ve used map art craft for a long time. The developer is a map artist on 2b2t. I’ve been a map artist on that server as well and this generator has been so helpful in that.
I love videos where you cover mods and tools like these. Thank you so much for posting this!!!
This was a fantastic idea for a video X! Amazing stuff and thanks for sharing your used tools and knowledge.
ChunkBase only works on a few latest versions (1.14+) I think, but there's an alternative called MCSeedMap which works on all full release versions down to 1.0
I use all these tools. Nice to know someone shared a video of them all in one place
Behind the scenes server mod/tools 👍👍👍👍👍👍 much needed

this was really useful! i bookmarked some of these i didn't know about. thanks X!
This is great! I haven't been playing much Minecraft lately but I'm bookmarking this to come back to for next time I get into the game. Lots of stuff here I look forward to playing with!
Agreed I am currently focused on other games at the moment but next time I'm playing I'll try these out. Thank you Xisuma for the suggestions.

Just wanna give you a huge thank you for this! Such useful info!
That's a handy list, thanks for sharing. Some I was aware of and use on occasion, but others are completely new to me.
Definitely gonna have to check out some of these
These are all very useful, learned some new things I haven't played with, and definitely want to look into the chess banners and fireworks, it would be so lovely to get back into fireworks and play chess in vanilla!

I've been using Litematica recently to project my redstone builds onto the server my friend runs, it's leagues easier than what I used to do which was taking loads of screenshots and writing down notes on the build process. I use Cubiomes viewer instead of chunk base as it is much closer to what amidst was and I think it is far better than chunk base
Very useful tools . Thanks . The only one I am already using is chunkbase
Oh my god i had a flashback when i heard MC Stacker, i used to use that all the time
Super helpful. Thanks, X!
Thank you for this very useful information!

Hi Xisuma, loved the video and tools! I have a question. What website do you use when looking at the texture changes in your snapshot videos?
Thanks a lot, awesome
Yes I want to see admin tools
I miss Amidst. It worked really well.
That Superflat website reminds me of the LCE superflat customization menu on ps4
This is really great. But the only thing missing here is that the tools youtubers use to create replica statues like a replica of a sniffer or relica of a warden. Do they use any tools to make obj to schematics?

You gotta check out the new lost cities update
Might use chunkbase to make a dnd map ngl
hey xisuma, there’s a drop down arrow on chunkbase so you won’t have to look at the pictures anymore :)
admidst was great, wish it was still updated.
Just find it much nicer to work with.
More admin tools would be very good to know!
I'm wondering, how are you able to access the Minecraft code? When you show us changes in mobs or properties, or others etc
Surprised to see no mention of MC Edit or NBT Explorer in this list. Maybe do a follow up video with tools more focused on server admins!
Is Mc Edit still used? They havent updated it in years
I don't use those tools anymore... I don't think MC edit has been updated in 10 years.
If you know Python, I'd also recommend Twoolie's NBT library, which makes it possible to script search functions ("Where did my Allay escape to?" "Do I have any unused vaults in this trial chamber?") while also being capable of editing world and entity data.
@@GSBarlev Well, I think X knows a "Python", lol
WorldEdit, Amulet, and Litematica are the replacements for MC Edit.
Please do the admin tools video.
and what about the custom item like the permits and your wolf helmet
Those are done with datapacks and resource packs.
Are the hermits allowed to use tools like chunkbase to search for structures? It would definitely make endbusting a lot more efficient lol.
Hey X, will you be doing another update video for vanillatweaks when it releases for 1.21.4?
More olease!!
How is your hotbar elevated like on bedrock? Is it possible with a resource pack now? I love that look and I always had to use the "bedrockify" mod for it, but it would be nice if there was a vanilla method. Hey Xisuma, I heard you talking about about your PC having problems in a tango vod, from working at helpdesk it sounds like a ram problem. IDK something to look into
Neat!
I just used the rocket maker the other day. The commands don’t work, so I had to craft it manually
Also where to put the map files? Which folder in our world's folder?
We want your admin tools, and how you see stats per player. Please please.
Hey X,
A long time ago in a previous season of HC, you did a 5x5ish mural (I think of a cow or mooshroom) made out of banners, in that episode you said you used a tool to generate all the different banners you needed.
Is that part of the banner tool you showcased in this video or was that something different?
in recent news: Pigstep's in Just dance 2025
🙂
Would like a admin video
Does anyone know if ChunkBase works with amplified worlds? Been thinking of getting back into MC with one lol
You can upload your world file to the site and it will figure it out.
What abt tools like litematica for building? Worldedit etc...
He already made videos about his mods i guess
I'm looking for a replacement for MCC Tool Chest PE, since it's no longer being updated & doesn't work as well as it used to, since the latest update of Bedrock. Does anyone know of one?
Any recommended tools for creating custom Minecraft skins?
There are a lot of websites for this
I personally use PMCskin3d. I use the advanced version but that could be overwhelming for a first time user. But it does have alot of great features
@@JoeMakaFloe Yeah, that's the problem. Most of them are pretty terrible.
Novaskin is a good one
EYY IS THAT THUMBNAIL TEXT THE CREATE MOD PRESET FOR MINECRAFT TEXT ON BLOCKBENCH
As much as i like chunkbase, it doesnt work for me. My survival world has been going for almost 6 years and seen each version since 1.14. Amidst was able to read generated chunks and assume ungenerated chunks based on the seed, which chunkbase doesnt do.
Did you just leak the seed for the HC season??
The seed has already been public for a while now.
@@samuelhulme8347shows how much I pay attention outside of the actual episodes 😂
I keep attempting to succeed in my world without chunk base loader but it's not easy
I would be careful with Minecraft tools. the website had a data leak and my password was compromised. Not sure if this was a one time thing or what but they also wouldn't let me delete my account. If you do make an account please be sure to use a brand new password. I had to change so many of my accounts because I used a repeating password.
All the tools in this video (and most other tools) do not require an account, if you’re using a site which requires an account it’s probably a scam.
This is kind of useful since Minecraft has now decided that they no longer want to be putting out quality updates or feature updates anymore and they’ve become very lacklustre this is kind of useful since we now have to be making our own updates
No they’ve just switched to smaller “drops” to give us content faster.

Is it possible UA-cam is hiding your channel from search results? I hope everything is ok.
