Not sure if I would have ever thought to bomb jump my way in between the elevator rooms for items. Those are really cleverly hidden. It makes sense in hindsight though. We're forced to hang out in between elevator rooms in Kraid's Lair. That just happens to be a really big area. But odds are good plenty of other people would notice the hint right there and figure out that we could do the same in the smaller areas that lead to Brinstar and Norfair.
Many of the methods I used to get certain items aren't intended for a normal run (ex. brinstar elevator etank needs high jump to get up, or norfair elevator missiles needs you to bomb down from right of the crateria elevator). Having bombs and IBJ really opens this game up :)
32:30 that respawn seemed unnecessary, then followed by the other one. I haven't played this game so I can't say I know why you did it. Just seemed unneeded
Both are just an extremely small time save by "teleporting" to the elevator. The speedruns go by in-game time which doesn't tick during the respawn animation.
