. I didn't know your history as a piano prodigy until I looked you up Emily - but this a very moving vocal so keep it up, another string to your extremely accomplished bow!
Emily's voice and that Cello and strings are just goosebump inducing, as others have mentioned, great choice of mic for her voice, so intimate sounding, perfect performance and interpretation ! well done by all!!!!!!!
Songwriter: Timothy Mckenzie / Josh Kear / Natalie Hemby I'm jealous of the rain That falls upon your skin It's closer than my hands have been I'm jealous of the rain I'm jealous of the wind That ripples through your clothes It's closer than your shadow Oh, I'm jealous of the wind, cause I wished you the best of All this world could give And I told you when you left me There's nothing to forgive But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was Heartbreak and misery It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way You're happy without me I'm jealous of the nights That I don't spend with you I'm wondering who you lay next to Oh, I'm jealous of the nights I'm jealous of the love Love that was in here Gone for someone else to share Oh, I'm jealous of the love, cause I wished you the best of All this world could give And I told you when you left me There's nothing to forgive But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was Heartbreak and misery It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way You're happy without me As I sink in the sand Watch you slip through my hands Oh, as I die here another day Cause all I do is cry behind this smile I wished you the best of All this world could give And I told you when you left me There's nothing to forgive But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was Heartbreak and misery It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way You're happy without me It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way You're happy without me
Incredibly talented young woman! It's hard to believe she is only 21!!! You really need to have her back and find a piano for her to play. I've heard she dabbles in the piano once in a while...lol
Emily, you never disappoint! Just keep doing what you’re doing! This song is very heart wrenching! You’re too nice for someone to do that to you! Hope it wasn’t about you!💕💕
Its so wonderful that time has once again blessed us with these enormous talents.....Emily Bear, Angelina Jordan, Amira Willighagen ...who are in their own right...the brightest young stars in the fermament....all began to show their talents at the ages of 1 to 3 years of age. They were able to showcase their respective talent development through the amazing technology we have. They have all been described as old souls...or talent reincarnate....all jaw dropping.....and what an absolute privilege and joy it is to follow their respective journeys... . Talent like this is once a generation...if that. Its also interesting that they are gravitating and being mentored by the great musical movements of history, classical, jazz, opera and pop...cutting across genres as easily as breathing. Thank you so much for presenting this.Truly wonderful.
I just noticed the strings this time -- listening more intently (with my BOSE turned up). This arrangement is such a melancholy journey! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TALENTS!
Her voice is so sweet and velvet.... It's like a cure for a broken heart... Thank you for this beautiful result 💖 All of you are wonderful 🥰 Thank you 🌼❤️
@@Descriptor_ it's hard to tell at this resolution, but at 1:32 you can see the lettering at the bottom looks more like 'Made in Austria' not 'Made in USA'', so that would be an original AKG C12. That's $10k-20k in mic right there 🫠
It seems that they recorded with keyboard and base guitar then added strings later. The base guitar isn’t there anymore, and the keyboard is almost all gone. The final product is beautiful, but I don’t think it was plan A.

Songwriter: Timothy Mckenzie / Josh Kear / Natalie Hemby
I'm jealous of the rain
That falls upon your skin
It's closer than my hands have been
I'm jealous of the rain
I'm jealous of the wind
That ripples through your clothes
It's closer than your shadow
Oh, I'm jealous of the wind, cause
I wished you the best of
All this world could give
And I told you when you left me
There's nothing to forgive
But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was
Heartbreak and misery
It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way
You're happy without me
I'm jealous of the nights
That I don't spend with you
I'm wondering who you lay next to
Oh, I'm jealous of the nights
I'm jealous of the love
Love that was in here
Gone for someone else to share
Oh, I'm jealous of the love, cause
I wished you the best of
All this world could give
And I told you when you left me
There's nothing to forgive
But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was
Heartbreak and misery
It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way
You're happy without me
As I sink in the sand
Watch you slip through my hands
Oh, as I die here another day
Cause all I do is cry behind this smile
I wished you the best of
All this world could give
And I told you when you left me
There's nothing to forgive
But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was
Heartbreak and misery
It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way
You're happy without me
It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way
You're happy without me

Beautiful! Loved the addition of strings 💓
Straight into my broken heart💔
what a beautiful cover. really touching. for me the best I heard of this song.
Beautiful singing, Emily
Goodness me, I love this song
that vocal mic… can anyone identify it? it’s just shockingly perfect on her voice.
Looks like some variation of a C12. Maybe a Flea, Upton, Telefunken.

The recording engineer is also as talented as the musicians!
@@r09d98 It's an AKG alright, but I don't know if it's an original or the reissue they called "The Tube." I think it might be an original.
AMAZING!
Incredible. Thank you
you are the best !!
Lovely voice 👏🏻🥰
That's Grammy winner Emily Bear.
Beautiful
What mics are used for the voice, cello and the double bass ?
Que c'est beau !!! Bel ensemble. Je n'en dirai pas plus de peur d'être redondant... Merci pour ce partage.
Wow!
Lovely! Where are the credits for the string players?
They are in the credits! 😬
Vocals: Emily Bear
Guitar: Ryan Lerman
Guitar: Will Graefe
Wurlitzer: Jake Sherman
Drums: Dan Bailey
Bass: Sebastian Steinberg
Cello & Strings arranger: Pierre-François "Titi" Dufour
