I am on your subscribed list and my son just sent me info about the rear of his truck making noise. He is deaf but with his hearing aids he can hear some and pretty well decern where it is coming from. I sent him this video and told him to check and see if this might be his problem. Because it is not happening all the time. It is on and off and the mechanic can not find it. I hope if he leaves you a comment that maybe you can advise him a little better. Thanks for all your great advice. I have used your advice quite a few times now.
I replaced the rear shocks on a 2006 Mustang GT with Bilstein ones. This car always had some slight humming noise in the rear end at highway speeds. With the new shocks it is completely quiet in the rear now and I don’t understand why as this car was basically like that since it was pretty new. Any idea what new shocks might have changed?
Thanks for the video. I have a '67 Plymouth Valiant with a serious passenger-side wheel bearing noise. It goes pressed into the axle, and I had it replaced and adjusted, its bearing adjustment retainer clip was also put in place (on the mounting plate), however the noise is still present. Could it be the fact that additional grease was not applied to the outer part of the bearing? (As any bearing it came with internal grease). Thank you, I hope you can help me.
my 22 colorado with 37k rear end is completely empty right now . i thought it was a bad wheel bearing . i guess i was wrong it was making a howling noise
Good morning..I would need help..my 2005 Ram 4.7 with the big differential..was fine and one good morning..a second the truck is turning a little my rear wheels suddenly lock..as if my Rachette worked badly and caused his backlash on my wheels
HELP!!! I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3l LTZ. I started hearing a roaring sound from the front and it sounded like it was coming from the driver side. I bought a new hub assembly and put it on, but I still hear the humming sound. I've rolled up the windows so I could hear it better, but I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. It's odd, it sort of sounds like its coming from in between the front wheels in the center of the front wheels. Any ideas???
on my car the fuking diff pan is structural... has 1 main screw bolted to the frame. which means all 8 housing screws are torqued to 88ft pounds, 3 of them in difficult to reach locations.

Thank you for an awesome video!
What a fantastic tutorial, I learned SO much watching this. Thanks so much.
Why not both bearings? You are already inside the differential.
Great explanation of a complicated process.!
This tahoe is a real trooper. Been in so many demos! Lol one day it'll be made entirely of 1a parts

Good job.
Could you do one where you convert an open differential to a limited or locking differential?
This is good teaching
Thank you for this. Seems on point.
Thank you
how would you be able to know the difference between this or a differential going bad?
didn't realize you guys have so many specialized tools. Are mechanics expected to own them or are they provided by the shop.
Been there on the RAM 5500.

can you guys do a how to video for a rack and pinion on a 02 to 07 jeep liberty. i need to change one on mine.
How about humming in the front left, right, or the differential?
What is the torque spec for the 8mm bolt inside the diff?
So you don’t even check the vertical play on the wheel bearing?

What camera and/or mic are you using?
Best time to do parking brakes too..
Excellent video..
You explain very well.
Thanks for your time
I had a noise coming from the diff, turns out if was the parking cable housing rubbing against the drive shaft
What does it sound like??.. can we get sound on camera?( even though it’s old)
Is there a video here about car engine shaking like crazy?
What if I cannot identify the side of the sound?
Wow man, you make it look so easy 🫡🫡🫡👍
