- Toss out your nut bag! Check out this plant-based milk hack!
You know how you need to somehow remove the pulp when you make almond, cashew, or coconut milks? How about THIS idea: use your French press. Works like a charm and this way you're making just enough milk for your morning coffee and cereal (the coffee is going to have to share the press).

it looks like press won't go down well and not much came out--could be wrong Would like to see what remains in the press--could have used a glass press.
You mean to tell me I've been using a cheesecloth all this time when I had a French press that i got as a gift years ago that I don't even use just on occasion TY for this hack everything has a purpose 😂😂😂😅 keep making great videos
That is brilliant use of french press! Thanks so much for thinking outside of the box.
Yum! Thanks for making it so easy. I have all of the equipment and ingredients.
Such a clever idea! Thanks so much!
What a clever idea! I just might try it
Genius. Thank you!!!
I'm sorry.....what? I seem to have gotta slightly distracted
What a great hack! Much easier than using the nut bag!
It works! Ive made oats blended with cashew. Not messy like squeezing nut bag. And its easy to clean too. Tanx ❤❤❤
great video!
"Hey, my eyes are up here!"
Too good.
Because "milk bags" lmao
@@TheSkepticalVegan i am starving....lol
@@TheSkepticalVegan Why do you call attention to yourself like that???
If you get the nylon nut milk bags, they are very easy to clean. The okara falls right off and then I just rinse mine under the tap, later it up with soap, rinse again and hang to air dry. They dry fast, too. I wish there was a hack for not using your hands to squeeze the nut milk bag. But the French press method seems like it would be much more of a pain to clean and may not squeeze as much liquid out as the nut milk bag can, but it may be worth a try if you already have a French press.
I just subscribed for two reasons
Omggg thank youuu
This is a great idea. I used nut milk bag before.
Awesome!
Outstanding
Lookin good
Please say the ratio of water to coconut? Or measurements? Thanks!
I try that and there is still a lot of pulp in the milk, coffee press is not seat enough to do a good job.
true. and it's a nightmare for me to clean the myriad of crevices in my french press
@@luvluvluvluvcats Idk about yours, but any french press I've ever had can be screwed open for cleaning. I only found out about that after about a year of using one. Makes it very easy to clean, and you can also put it in the dishwasher.
Looks watery, not creamy.
How long would almond milk last with this method?
Does this work for vegetable juices? I have carpal tunnel so my hands hurt squeezing a nut milk bag
I make cashew and soy mylk. Handful of cashews blended with soy. Done. Easy as. No dairy. No worries!!
Uhhh... Huh know you HAVE to cook it first?
Soy isn't edible raw!
The milk maid cometh.
but who's gonna squeeze the nut bag?
Why didn’t I see this before today!!!! The Nut milk bags I ordered just came in, but I already own a French press!!!!
It’s pretty ingenious.
The bag is superior nonetheless
@@PrinceofEnemies-ow2zm Okey try both out and tell me what you think? Maybe you find a solution for where you use both and benefit from them? Personally I don't use nutmilkbags very often, so this could be a better solution for me. What I question is how fine the filter is. Maybe you need a high quality one? Or look for extra fine maybe.
@@nowonmetube The french press is easier at first, but then needs to be taken apart and washed, so more work in the long run, plus the nut bag or cheesecloth or muslin, or whatever you use, will extract more liquid than the french press. I've use my french press for cold brewed coffee for over 12 years, which is basically the same process as nutmilk: grind beans, soak in french press, plunge to strain. If I want to get the remaining liquid out then I need to use a cloth or bag to squeeze it out or else I lose out on some of my extraction.
@@KatarinaS. Damn that's an important point. I don't like waste. But washing the nutmilk bags is s struggle... No use of fabric softener, but what else gets washed without? Dirty rag don't count - I would not want them to be put in the same wash.
Nice shirt
I subbed for this. My French press... Genius. Why didn't i think of this?
IKR?!
Healthy!! 😏

I came here for milk and stayed for.. milk, yes. milk. there is no joke i just want to make vegan bean milk for my coffee (i don't coffee anymore I'm just looking for stimulus)
Damn!
sorry sweetheart, fresh press does not squeeze every bit of the shredded coconut after soaking it of blending it.. this is just a waste
Can this be used for oats? I don't want to buy a french press just to find out..
Namira Thanes | Although I don’t have one either, the French press seems like a better alternative to squeeze out a lot more liquid as opposed to your hands.
To answer your question, the French press can be used for any type of pulp (rice, nuts, oats, etc.) because of its original use for making coffee. So yes, oats are fine.
Of course the nut milk bag take more effort to “get every last drop”. I feel like a French press is actually a great idea, if you’re also going to use it for its main purpose with coffee.
A juicer is bulky and expensive, the French press can be pricy-but size varies, and the nut milk bag varies in all areas (pricing vs. quality). I actually might consider one myself!
Then don't buy one buy a cheesecloth or the damn but bag
Would oats work with this?
Did you try,
nice looks good will try it out.i have been making my own walnut and almond milk, will never buy it from the store anymore
all the crap they are putting in our food now.
Any hacks for cleaning the press? Oat milk has a latex-like compound that sticks like glue to the screen, besides not doing a very good job of filtering. I'm going back to the nut bag.
Lol 😂
same. I make oat milk exclusively. Cleaning the press afterwards was a nighmare
Feel like I totally just wasted money on nut milk bags. French press. Great idea.
Thanks!
Why did I buy that nut bag!!!
I'm definitely craving some milk after watching this. Not so sure it's coconut milk, though.
I guess it could still be classed as Vegan.
WOW! Hot a What Baabhabhiat!
So who is she
Why she wear that type of top. And the damn milk look too watery
I know what kind of milk you want from her hahahaha!
That top distracts from the video.
skanky behavior
Thats the point.
Not if you plan on going to heaven.
Yes show us the coconuts
