  • This is a very exciting video all about the brand new Jotul 602. This stove has been around forever and to see an all new version that complies with all the current rules is fantastic.

    Reminds me of mountain huts across Norway. What a joy to see it keeping up with the times.

    Great looking stoves. We had a Jotul F 8 TD initially, replaced it (with a Pyroclassic) but I still have the old stove, may use it again if I get around to building a cabin. The 602 is the best looking Jotul to my eyes.

    Hi Gabriel, the 7 minute mark where you mention particulates going through roof with cooking was something I was aware of. Shame that ordinary people are not aware of it, and a pity the MSM don’t inform ordinary folk. Good review.

    Can't believe I have never encountered one of these while sweeping. Given the length of time they have been around. More fantastic content guys! Keep it up!🎉

      Thanks a lot. I’m literally in the airport right now having just been out with Jøtul to check out their latest release (which will be coming in a future video), but I believe the 602 on the world stage is still one of their biggest sellers!

      Thanks a lot. I’ve always tried to make the videos as short and sound bite like, as I can. Sometimes I’ve got no choice but to go a bit longer, but glad it hasn’t put you off 😆

    I’m a bit late but I really enjoyed this review! I always get a lot out of your videos, but it was nice to have a slightly longer vid with a bit more chit chat.
    I like the new shop too - no doubt my wife will have bought you out of stock (and me into the red!) before too long…

      😆 thanks a lot, we’re always excited to get an order!
      I’ve been thinking about longer videos, but I didn’t want them to get too long if you know what I mean.

    Mate, fair play on you to do a review every week by burning the stove for days in this heat! 😂👍

    How do you feel the cast iron panels do for holding heat vs a stove with fire bricks?

    • @TheTortoise
      @TheTortoise  6 місяців тому +1

      Very few stoves have stone firebricks nowadays (almost none in fact), they’ve all switched to vermiculite board which is better for reflecting heat forward. The cast iron will hold heat nicely, but not as effective at driving heat forward.

    Is Eco the SAME thing as V2 ??

    • @TheTortoise
      @TheTortoise  9 місяців тому

      This stove has been being made for around 80 years and during that time there have been lots of versions. For the current European and UK markets the 602 Eco was introduced a year or 2 ago, and this is not known as the V2 or anything else. In the US I believe their current version is called the V2
