    Very helpful, whatt might be some disadvantages to using this system over radio comms.?

      From my VATSIM experience, this is too delayed system to recieve most departure and approach instructions - every in and out messages takes about half-minute to pass plus half-minute or more to tap and send, so if you got more then 1 message or request per (approximately) 3 minutes, thats not useful as its too late to act and everyone communicates most intensive intentions by voice or network client text.
      So the most common CPDLC patterns looks like this:
      -logon, CPDLC pre-departure clearence, then voice push&start, voice taxi, voice takeoff, voice climbs, handoff, logoff
      -logon, CPDLC passing Alpha airspace, CPDLC some recieves or requests (direct to, stepclimb, position report or oceanic clearance), handoff, logoff
      -logon, CPDLC arrival instructions, then voice directs and descending, then voice vectors to final, voice landing, voice taxi, voice parking, logoff
      So this is usiful ONLY if ATC has a lot of traffic, has CPDLC by ICAO code too, you both have not much intentions to do and CPDLC texting is just... Useful to some PDC or cruise messages.

    Hi, is it possible you can do a video about RCP240 and RSP 180? I have a question regarding the video when you are doing the FMS setup. There is a part where ATC says Set Max Uplink Delay value of 300 seconds. Does this mean that the aircraft that you are flying is having RCP 400? That is why you are able to set the Max Uplink Delay to 300 seconds? If the aircraft is RCP240 certified, then it can only go up to 240 seconds? Please advise. Thank you.

      This video shows the Max Uplink Delay which is given when aircraft is logon to an ATC via CPDLC. I know some aircraft are RCP240 equipped. When I saw this video, the ATC gave a Max Uplink Delay of 300 seconds. The question is why 300 seconds? Isn’t the aircraft having a maximum transaction time of 240 seconds? If the uplink delay is 300 seconds, won’t it defeat the purpose of 240s?
