One of the more interesting things you can do at Star Control and Galactic Zone in general. In stead of destroying the robots, just turn them all off.... Its tedious however when you restore Star Control, the robots all turn back on in non-hostile mode. I like the idea of having a backup robot army.
The Vault Tec Among The Stars location makes me wonder if Vault Tec is still out there on another planet. I mean this was their whole goal, the reason for all the vault experiments. From the looks of the exhibit they obviously had the technology to accomplish this. It would be cool to dive further into this in a future Fallout game or dlc.
Maybe so, especially considering there was apparently a battle on the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon, according to the Museum of Freedom, Space is a real possibility.
The Rocket lab in the Commonwealth makes mention of manned Spacecraft able to reach the outer Solar system, when you consider how that would be impossible at our level of tech and probably tech within the next 50 years (because of journey lengths) then they are a lot further along with Space programs than might be obvious. Jason Bright seemed confident that the Rockets at REPCONN in Fallout: NV where capable of Interstellar flight too, perhaps only in the length of time they would remain reliable and operational and Ghouls not caring about mortality as much. When the only sustenance you need is Radiation, long term Space flight becomes a lot easier. Still we know Vault Tec was working on Cryosleep projects, plus in Vault 112 the VR loungers had somehow kept the occupants alive for 200 years and those VR loungers would solve a lot of problems with long duration space flight, like mental well being. With Spacecraft reliable enough to run for centuries or thousands of years, with life extension/preservation tech and the means to manage a crews sanity then they could have easily setup colonies or bases within the Solar system and maybe Interstellar ships are on their way to other Solar systems. House also had that plan if he could restart industrial and technological development, maybe he knew something that made the idea a plausible goal for him and then you have all the questions surrounding the Zetans and how much the US knew and what tech they salvaged from them.
One often overlooked thing in Fallout is how OP their nuclear rocket propulsion tech is. Just look at the Delta IX and the REPCONN Rockets. Single-stage-to-orbit, fully reusable, and they're the size of a small private jet. They appear to have very small fuel tanks, which if you know anything about spaceflight is *absurd.* IRL rockets are like 95% fuel. The efficiency the engines require in order to be able to reach orbit is staggering. Nuclear rockets are a real and promising concept IRL for high-efficiency space propulsion, but even our most optimistic designs would come nowhere close. If you built a ship with a realistically large fuel tank and engines that good, you could probably reach other planets in weeks, and with reusable ships you could build it relatively cheaply. The only reason I can possibly think of for why pre-war humans wouldn't have already sent ships out to the moon and beyond would be if the rocket tech was brand-new when the nukes dropped. So yeah, odds are very good that there are a few colonies out there. Perhaps the Enclave we see is just the remnants of the government elites who were unable to flee to space?
@@ENCHANTMEN_ Wow, you’re spot on. You must be a space nerd like me. It’s funny you bring up “reusable rockets” , I actually machine reusable rockets for a living. It’s extremely time consuming and RIDICULOUSLY expensive for us to build just one IRL. And even those aren’t able to be reused but a few times before melting or failing stress tests.
Given how medical situations were handled in Safari Zone I think we can assume the person in the first aid station was afraid of being seen as a non-customer without money. As for Project Cobolt...people were tripping into it and getting "taken care of" fairly frequently. So I would say Cobolt was an open secret. You knew and also knew to pretend you didn't.
If power armor was modified to be sealed, it could be useful as an EVA suit in space, although it would be massive overkill and weigh a ton. Then again, rockets in Fallout are pretty OP
@notyourbusiness8340 nope. Once your out of gravity weight is gone. Mass still exists, but weight is a specific outcome of mass and gravity. Go to a different planet, your weight changes, your mass does not.
You forgot to mention that the "Startender" was a slightly modified Sentry Bot Nuka World wanted as the theater bartender. Obviously it didn't have any hands to carry the drinks.
There are a lot of other robots in the theatre, including some Mister Handies. Presumably they'd be the ones carrying drinks while the giant "bartender" would act as more of set piece/spectacle to amuse/intimidate the guests. A note by a former employee comments on the fact that the Startender doesn't have any hands yet is somehow expected to mix drinks, so either human employees were taking care of those duties, or the aforementioned Mister Handies were. Otherwise the theatre wouldn't have been able to function.
I'm pretty sure the Mr Pebbles was an actual event in the Fallout space race. a bit of npc dialog they added into 76 implies that Mr Pebbles was the first living organism to be launched into space, beating out not only the dogs the USSR launched in 1951 and the monkeys the US launched in 1948, but the fruit flys the US launched with a modified V2 rocket in 1947. though like most of them it's unlikely Mr Pebbles survived the trip.
So pumped you're covering this location, dude. Everytime I entered Nuka World whenever going through a fresh file and venture into the wasteland, I always go for the Galactic Zone first. It's a feckin' blast to go through and the creepy involvement of Vault-Vec as you discover deeper in just makes it all the more intriguing.

Great video! I just wanted to comment for the Vault-Tec among the stars, when I went through myself my understanding of the Hypnotic Pheromones was it would then influence your ability to resist the hard sales tactic used on the way out to get you to sign up to a vault. If you are affected by the Pheromones to make you more suseptible, you would be a prime candidate for time in a vault!
I can't accurately express how stoked I was to see this upload notification. So happy to have another video from you! Take care of yourself and thank you for another gem of lore. 😁
My personal head canon is that the Quantum X-01 was the original prototype, and the Enclave, being part of the government, had access to the plans. After the bombs dropped, they modified the design so it didn't require Project Cobalt to run, and that's where the Enclave X-01 came from. In my opinion, the X-01 suits you find across the Commonwealth were all put there after the war by Enclave soldiers or their remnants.

I know this was awhile back and I really don’t wanna bring up old things, but I wanna just say how amazing and interesting your videos are. High quality and I always feel like I get the best information possible on a certain fallout topic. I played fallout new Vegas many years ago when I was a young and have recently returned. I’ve played fallout new Vegas a few months back, for the first time in more than 8 years iirc. And have started playing fallout 3. I come to your videos to get better understanding of things. I came across a video that talked about a certain someone and seen how sad you were at one point and that you stopped making these videos. I know I’m a stranger, but I do wanna say that I’m happy you’re back I assume you’ve been back for years, and that you’re keeping on the good fight. We all get sad and as the ink spots say, “into each life some rain must fall, but too much is falling in mine” “but I know you know someday the sun will shine” it can seem corny to some but for me I like the quote. The only reason I’m saying this is because I’m barely getting into everything fallout after so long and I barely got wind of it. Especially because if someone deserves to be happy and make these amazing fallout videos we can rely on its you. Much love bro!
I came here to hear the story. I had to pause the nuka cola one so I can keep up! Thank you for all of these. I'm not allowed to play violent video games and I have always wanted to know all the stories of Fallout!
Love your videos, I'm a fiend for the lore and smaller stories you see scattered around. I miss a lot of stuff that you definitely don't. Makes me go back into the game to find it for myself! Good stuff man, and I always look forward to more.
I remember tagging you in a picture of those plungers a few years ago on twitter, and I'm glad to see the room I've been waiting so long to see again come in a video. Always a joy to watch and listen to ya :)
"Here, we find a Protectron that has mastered the art of phasing through matter, showing that enlightenment for machines only takes two centuries of meditation." Your straight-faced delivery of that particular absurdity was comedy gold. Well now see, their first mistake was putting a sentry bot behind the bar. Man's got no thumbs! Shoulda used a Handy, or an assaultron. Granted, the sulta would've been getting hit on by drunk idiots all night, but she can take it - she's an army chick. She'll just emulsify their ulnas, problem solved. Sounds like an Imperial probe droid more than subliminal messaging. **fart** But what do I know. I tabled seven purple last albatross.
If you think about it, there were 5 employees and 5 experiments. My hypothesis of the situation would be each of them went through and experienced the entire loop, or each employee had their own experiments and were stuck in the room all day to do the tours. Both sound terrible but the person who had to experience that theta radiation would probably die or commit with prolonged exposure, so I'm inclined to believe each would do a tour and that gave a wide range of long term limits with several different people as everyone reacts differently. You said those people that were being experimented on in the tour deserve what they get, but I'm 100% positive they knew nothing about the exposure to these experiments because that would alter the results, the employees who refused would quit and likely warn others. There is no way whatsoever that the 5 employees, Hodgson, Grunner, Dallas, Bartlebee and Langston would have been aware. You can never let the subjects know it's an experiment.
Finally had an appropriate amount of time and attention for another sweet vid - I don't want any interruptions when it's a thenthapple vid Also very much appreciate the vocal volume increase. Thenthapple's voice and commentary are the necessary toppings for any good Fallout lore
@@thenthapple I know it's been done to shite but can we get another uggy toth video? Love me some Eldritch lore 😉👌 Maybe touch on the sunken city/al abia or whatever that lost fallout city was 🤣
My one and only reason for not blanket hating all vault-tec employees is FO4’s vault rep. He didn’t know the nature of the vault and even wanted in himself. Didn’t know the time of the bombs dropping (if you believe VT is involved). Didn’t know about the experiments. He even maintained a positive impression of the company and his role in it until the sole survivor shows up and tells him the truth. So it leads me to believe that they definitely do have employees who are kept in the dark and genuinely think they are doing good work. The basic sales reps and more customer-facing roles may be intentionally kept more blind so they can upsell without any guilt. Obviously management and higher ups would know, but the basic staff may not all be in on it.
My guess is the robots, once set into defensive mode, were programmed to target anyone carrying weapons. Alternatively maybe star control was supposed to be connected to a database with every employee and guest?
Another stellar (lol) lore video! Thank you for all your hard work researching and sharing this with us. We always assume the corpses next to drugs were using it when the bombs hit or whenever they died, and yet we never find empty Psycho syringes or Stimpaks... There are empty alcohol bottles, but no empty drug containers (that I can recall coming across). Curious...
Nuka world's real life counterpart is Six Flags New England located just south of Springfield Massachusetts. This area would have been pasted by nukes because it is just a few miles from Westover Air Force base ( a former Strategic Air base with a wing of B-52 bombers) Barnes Air Force base ( currently home to a F-15 Eagle air wing) and The Notch, a top secret SAC command center 800 feet under Mount Holyoke in Granby .
also Bradley Airport, home to the Connecticut Air National Guard is not terribly far away. And even if the bases are gone IRL, New England in general has a big "nuke me" sign due to lots of defense contractors still existing there.
I’m just a week away from finally coming home after an 8 month long away job far away. This couldn’t have came at a better time. Some comfort lore. Video as I’m excited to return home.
something to consider: the red grade holotape could have absolutely been active. you just wouldn't have even slightly been affected by it, based on what we know. they function on two things, commands given, and the subject's resistance towards that command. The less they want to do it, the more likely it will happen. Now, the first part: what was the last command listed for the scientist? I would assume, it would be Shoot Langley. I also highly doubt anyone would have changed it due to the nukes, and, considering how it works, it shouldn't affect you. after all, you've killed quite a few people by this point, so why would you be unwilling to kill one more?
@@thenthapple Yeah, I remember listening to your videos all the time in 7th grade Spanish, which was 2013. All this time later and they're still great!
The quantum x01 power armor is the best in the game, despite it being lore breaking. the star cores are the first thing i do, esp sinces there's a couple glitches you can do before completing the dlc, like some of them respawning if you get them early on like the one at the junkyard
Although be careful, if you get to close to Clears location on ur way to the junkyard, without talking to him and starting that quest, he can be killed by a radscorp or death claw which permanently locks you out of the hubbology quest
X-01 is pre-war. It’s not the same thing as the advanced power armor. Although even if it was APA that just means the Enclave lied. Which isn’t even slightly a stretch.
@@27Flopps You can doubt it all you want it's specified in-game lore. this isn't something that's a developer commentary outside of the game. It's a lot weaker than advanced power armor anyway, that stuff made you basically invicible.
@Skullhawk13 It's not "specified", it's incredibly vague on when it was made Post-War and I highly, HIGHLY doubt the U.S Military would let its highly expensive, and advanced power armor sit around collecting dust in random areas of Boston and West Virginia. Not only that but X0-1 Power Armor as far as I know had no existence outside of Fallout 4.
@@hotdogcat5874 probably the same way they have weaponized quantum in the protectrons and the nuka-nuke launcher despite project cobalt only being finished after the war, a horribly inconsistent timeline
If I wasn't understanding of people, that very won't analysis would have made me give this a thumbs d, but most of humanity is not aware that half of a group of Cancer Patients were never given their actual treatment. Because when that detail really settles into your brains, you will start questioning everything.
This man has spoiled us with his audio and editing out the wet and popping noises. There was another creator I could not stand because of those noises this man has taken pain staking time to edit out (if memory serves from old video before hiatus). Absolute chad.
The thing that bothers me is that, due to the opening of FO4, we know that the bombs fell in the early morning, and you see a lot of people's skeletons in Nuka World that presumingly died in the initial blast. But my question is; How or why was Nuka World open that early? Even if it opened at 8AM, the amount of time it takes to get to the park, and around the park, would leave some serious doubts as to how many could have been there at that time. All in all I think BGS needed to recheck their continuity, among other things, involving the Nuka World DLC.
I think the reason that no one found it odd is likely to do with the fact that they were hit by the something that inhibits individual thought, as previously stated earlier in the video.
The way you describe it helps in giving me a horrifying idea of how star control worked. You got your of the shelf robot, off the shelf programming, new paint job, new arms. Sees a park customer *Kill* it thinks, and in that millisecond star control swoops in and stops *Kill* and injects *Sell Drink*. Its not exactly what you said but the way it is described in terminal entries I get the impression this thing was issuing by radio billions of corrections a day by means more like hacking than programming. Making defensive mode really just a shutdown of star control that it was unable to recover from. Feels very fallouty as it could be seen as cheaper than reprogramming.
Mr Pebbles wasn’t just from a movie, in Fallout Canon he was a White Persian House Cat that was the first animal sent to space by the USSA in the 1960’s
I always felt like i missed so much in galactic zone because i kept losing cores like cotton candy in a rainstorm. I couldnt collect them all on console without glitches and then having them blown up into other places 😅. So im happy to see a full breakdown of this part of the lore, i played for so long but still fallout 4 always surprises me with more information i didnt know about! Mini skyrim experience.
I am so freaking goad you started posting again. You have inspired me to start thw fame again and have breathed new life into it for me. I live the videos and please keep it up. Also audio and video quality are great.

I came here to hear the story. I had to pause the nuka cola one so I can keep up! Thank you for all of these. I'm not allowed to play violent video games and I have always wanted to know all the stories of Fallout!
“Lest your kneecap be turned into a skin sock filled with bone fragments and sinew” this sounds equally like a Bible verse and a black metal lyric
Finally had an appropriate amount of time and attention for another sweet vid - I don't want any interruptions when it's a thenthapple vid
Also very much appreciate the vocal volume increase. Thenthapple's voice and commentary are the necessary toppings for any good Fallout lore
An hour. A whole hour. I've made it through twice so far. Know that we genuinely appreciate what you do, brother.
Thank you :)
Great video, loved the shenanigans. Sound and frame rate seemed ok to me.😊
My guess is the robots, once set into defensive mode, were programmed to target anyone carrying weapons. Alternatively maybe star control was supposed to be connected to a database with every employee and guest?
So glad to see another video from you! It's nice to listen to while I work. I look forward to the next one!!
Awesome to hear you again Mr Apple. Keep the content coming. Always glad to hear your commentary on lure of my favorite game franchise.
Your channel was apart of my childhood man I hope you keep the content coming I always look forward to it
I'm so glad you're uploading again! Gotta be one of the best fallout channels on youtube. Keep it up my guy!
I greatly appreciate you increasing the speech volume.
Makes it so much easier to enjoy your great content.
The insult 'a complete gaggle of creatures' is such a versatile thing to say, it could mean anything you need it to
Great video. Glad to see more from you. Audio was good and I saw no video issues.
Curious...
37:22 Yeah the employees had no clue whatsoever about any of the experiments
I'm really simple
I see an upload from this channel I drop everything else that I'm doing sit-down to listen and drink a cup of tea.
Best day ever!
So happy to have you back making videos!
Oh Snap a vid from the main man on a Sunday! Thanks for the upload
I’m just a week away from finally coming home after an 8 month long away job far away.
This couldn’t have came at a better time. Some comfort lore. Video as I’m excited to return home.
Glad to see you back, your the reason why I got into fallout lore and games
I saw the upload notification and let out a very loud and audible “yipeeeee”. Love your vids and the Amazon effort and theories you put into them.
something to consider: the red grade holotape could have absolutely been active. you just wouldn't have even slightly been affected by it, based on what we know. they function on two things, commands given, and the subject's resistance towards that command.
So we aren't affected by it as we are already more crazy than it would make us. I like this theory XD
You and your videos continue to be something to look forward to and enjoy. Thank you for the entertaining and informative video.
I am so glad you're back I remember devouring your videos 10 years ago
Has it really been 10 years?
@@thenthapple Yeah, I remember listening to your videos all the time in 7th grade Spanish, which was 2013. All this time later and they're still great!
I've never played fall out personally, but the various lore sprinkled all over the place is always interesting to see a video on.
Glad you liked it
The quantum x01 power armor is the best in the game, despite it being lore breaking. the star cores are the first thing i do, esp sinces there's a couple glitches you can do before completing the dlc, like some of them respawning if you get them early on like the one at the junkyard
@@Skullhawk13Highly doubt X-01 is pre-war lmao
- audio quality: great
- visual quality: great
- best Fallout Lore creator: confirmed.
Great vis, Audio feels spot on to me. Easy to hear and understand you but with enough undertone from game to tie it up.
I am just happy you are making content again Thenthapple, if you want to do the story of the Galactic Ride, that is up to you, but I would watch it.
I'm super happy to see you post more content! Can't wait to listen through this tonight at work
32:58 right here is the only clue the employees get that something is up. Unless there is more?
strangely enough there's a loading screen tip in fallout 4 that states that x-01 power armor was developed in secret *after* the war
Huh...?
Then how did they have quantum X-01 unless its like some prototype
@@hotdogcat5874 probably the same way they have weaponized quantum in the protectrons and the nuka-nuke launcher despite project cobalt only being finished after the war, a horribly inconsistent timeline
Never clicked a notification so flipping fast
genuinely love this video sm your narrations are perfect ive been binging ur fallout videos all day on repeat while i play
It's the worst part of my editing :(
@@thenthapple its heavily appreciated. I know it sucks and I do understand that but your work goes far. Thank you, it is so incredibly appreciated.
The thumbnail assumes that Vault-Tec actually knew what they were doing.
Yeah it's actually Vault-Tec asking that question. They had no clue what they were at
Love to see an upload from you!!! I'll comment again after I finish the video.
Im so happy you're posting again 💙 your videos were alqays my favorite to watch, and they still are ^°^
I just got the DLC on sale over the summer, and now one of my favorite OG fallout4 youtubers drops a video. What are the odds?!
Volume is perfect! Welcome back!
So happy you’re back making fallout videos! 😊❤️
Always a joy to see your videos on my notifications.
Hey welcome back again. Always glad to see you still around
I love all your videos I trust your creative opinion on what to do man just keep making videos
I am so freaking goad you started posting again. You have inspired me to start thw fame again and have breathed new life into it for me. I live the videos and please keep it up. Also audio and video quality are great.
Holy fuck you're back! The last time I saw one of your videos was like 4 years ago. I'm so glad to see you're uploading again, dude. Keep it going!🤟
No, the Mr. Pebbles posters are imdeed referring to a real, in-universe, pre-war event, where the Government sent a cat into space. Those posters are all over the Commonwealth proper.
How have I never noticed this before :/
You've got a badass voice for this kind of content. Keep it up! I hope your hiatus was productive, I'm subbing for sure!
love the long form videos, always need at least 40 mins to get to sleep.
Glad to have you back apple! Missed your videos
I really enjoy that you use they/them for characters we don’t know the gender of. Idk as a trans viewer it makes me smile :)
Glad you're still making content.
