People don't tend to view the translations as updated to be easier to read, they internalize it as the most modern and intelligent scholars translated the source texts better, or used the counterfeit vaitcanus and sinaiticus to derive a better translation. As far as King James being too hard to read, they seem to be able to follow the plot of game of thrones just fine or memorize 500 fictional terms invented by Disney, it will take the same amount of time and effort to pick up 16th century English.
