Make sure you check out @crittercrewau on Instagram! He's the one I got these pedes from, and it's thanks to him that some of Australia's coolest centipedes are making their way into the hobby.
Those tri coloured one are impressive looking. And the calming demeanour of these videos really gets over the fact it's a six in long crawling predator.
"You are going to stop running around the box, you are going to settle down and you are going to behave. Are you listening to me?" Tri-colour - "NnnnooOoooOOooOOooO! Ppppphuubbttt!" Love it!
They're an amazing locale for sure! Pity all of my adults are males, so rip to any breeding plans for the time being. I do have a young female from a previous batch though.
I had no idea they were illegal in some part of the world. Just curious, which country are you talking about. Here in europe it's easy to buy/order them online anywhere, just they come with a massive price tag.
Such beautiful species! I would get some more Pedes but after the newest additions of other random stuff in the future I don’t want to expand my collection any more :(
You know what… I’m getting some little guys to offset the shipping of my scorpion, looks like there is some inexpensive species on the same site I think I’ll snag a S. sexspinosus and an H. marginata
Yeah I'm stoked to have these guys. Absolutely amazing colours on them and honestly my camera didn't do a great job capturing that, especially with the Pilbara S. morsitans. Good luck if you do decide to get some pedes! The two species you mentioned are apparently great beginner species.
@@BugsandBiology I have a scolopendra subsoinipes already and I love all the five seconds a month I see the little guy Typing scientific names on mobile is a nightmare
Unfortunately we don't have Scolopendra metuenda in Australia. S. morsitans is the biggest Scolopendra species here (and E. rubripes is the biggest Aussie pede overall). From what I've heard of them, they're partially arboreal, quite active, and incredibly fast.
@@BugsandBiology Yes I'm in Victoria, do you have any other forms because I already have two tiger E rubripes do you have any sub adults' that are not a tiger form for sale?
Did he say "Glossester"? If that's a British inheritance, it would be pronounced "Gloster", like Leicestershire is "Lestersheer" and Londoner is pronounced "Cunt" (!). Thought Australians were able to deal with English proppa, innit?
@@BugsandBiology Deffo "Glosster" then. Most things "cester" are a legacy of British colonialism but have their origin in the Roman occupation of Britain. We'll let you off this time, if only for taking the piss out of your inverts. Keep up the good work!

"Can we have a better look at you please?"
Blackheaded Centipede. "Boop!"
What a little sweetie.
Centipedes can be so cute at times haha.

Cheers! Glad I was able to create a relaxing atmosphere while featuring such formidable predators.

On hindsight, it looked like I was trying (and failing) to Jedi mind trick that pede into behaving.
Man, all centipedes are hardcore, but the tricolor one is something else

I love centipedes scorpions and trautula
It was very cute! I find snakes drinking rather cute too.
Same here!
You’d probably have a dozen Scolopendra gigantea if they were legal 😂
Haha maybe. Though S. gigantea would be a lot more space consuming.
I had no idea they were illegal in some part of the world. Just curious, which country are you talking about. Here in europe it's easy to buy/order them online anywhere, just they come with a massive price tag.
Australia. We can only keep native species here.
Wow those are some awesome centipedes!!
Thanks for sharing them!
Cheers!!
Thanks! Western Australia has some of the coolest centipedes.
The tri-colours and black headed centipedes are my favourites!
Yeah tricolours are some of my faves. Some of the most unique coloration I've seen on a centipede.
That dark tone blackhead tho 🤟 nice size specimen
It's not actually that big, maybe 12-13cm. But definitely an impressive pede nonetheless.
Iv got another centipede coming in the post im soo excited
Good job Awsome video!
Things NOT to say to your centipede...
"I know you are a very pretty centipede, but I have to move on and can't focus entirely on you..."
😱

Yeah it's a pain for sure. I just add regularly used names to autocorrect.
I love your videos
Cheers mate!
Love your channel and your info! Also curious if you have scolopendra metuenda in Australia and what you know about them.

Hi are you able to sell me any of your juvenile centipedes? Cheers
Are you in Australia? I have baby tiger E. rubripes available.

Unfortunately no, but I have a Silver Valley form on eggs right now.
@@BugsandBiology yes I'm interested how much are they? thanks
None available yet, but I'll let you know once they hatch/leave the mother.
AWESOME

Place names certainly aren't my strong point when it comes to pronunciation. First Goulburn, now Cape Gloucester.

Nobody asked for it and also wouldn't recomand to tell around there are weird people
