    The fragrance is a big deal breaker for me so it's a no from me as I don't like fragrance on my face, I only use it on my body, but she did release the clay mask which is fragrance free and has salicylic acid in it, which seems like a really good product. Can you please tell me if this is a good night time routine: I wash my face with benzoyl peroxide 5%. Then I apply the hyaluronic acid and nicinamide Ordinary serum. Then I apply tretenoin 0.05%. And then I apply the azelaic acid ordinary 10%. I usually apply one after the other, as soon as it feels like it sinked into my face. I don't really wait 20 mins after applying the tretenoin.Is this bad? Can I use the azelaic acid as a moisturizer?

    I’ve been using this skincare line since it dropped, and it’s been the only thing that’s really worked for me. I get cystic acne HORRIBLY, and it’s like clockwork. Not saying this was a cure all as diet and hormones play a part in it, but since using this (I’m mixed; white, black, and Filipino) my skin has been EXTREMELY TAME. I think it’s subjective, but for me it works.

    I don’t know, Fenty skin is not for me. primarily because of the fragrance that everyone keeps shedding importance on. I like the consistency of the toner but witch hazel breaks me out and i have oily skin. The niacinamide in it sold me on it and I’m just not sure about it as yet 🤔 i wish there was HA in the toner. Sunscreen seems promising

    What do you think about the retinoid by cereve to help with cystic acne scaring? I know from watching your lives that you like that brand. I’ve had cystic acne for years on years was on accutaine for 9 months. The scaring is pretty deep in some spots. They recommend I do another round of acutaine but that got pushed back for a while due to the virus. Please your input would be greatly appreciated.

    • @Doctorly
      @Doctorly  4 роки тому +3

      Topical retinoids like ceraVe retinol can help minimally with cystic acne scarring. But truthfully, the best treatment for acne scars is going to require a trip to your dermatologist. These treatments include laser resurfacing, microneedling, and chemical peels.

      Give your skin time to heal - it often gets better on it's own with time and moisturizer. Make sure to discuss with your doctor if things do not improve soon. As far as skincare routine for dry skin, gentle cleansers will be important for you like the ceraVe hydrating cleanser (or similar).

      Thanks for joining me over here!!!! It should not cause more blackheads - I would stick with it for about 2 months before making a decision about it. It is common to undergo "purging" where your acne may be worse initially but then long term, your skin should be much better!

      Hi Summer! Thanks for subbing!
      -It is safe for some people to use it under the eye. I personally have very sensitive skin and cannot use adapalene or tretinoin underneath the eye area. It depends on your level of sensitivity
      -Stretch marks are seen in 90% of people and it is best to embrace them ( I have them too ). Retinoids like adapalene and tretinoin can help a little. If they really bother you, you can see a dermatologist for something like microneedling or laser.
      -I wouldn't use the vitamin C with azelaic acid just because vitamin C is a finicky medication. Try to use them at opposite times of the day. Or hold off on the vitamin C while using the azelaic acid

    Hey Dr. I love all your videos on Tik Tok. I have a question, I’m currently using these products (Fenty skin), can I use the Paula’s Choice peeling after using the Fat Water??

      Cystic acne is best treated with oral medications that require prescription. I would discuss with your doctor because cystic acne can lead to permanent scarring!

    Glycolic acid opinion? I have dry skin and just started using before differing at night. And then bumped into a video that didn’t recommend glycolic acid. I have dry skin. Please advise, thank you

    • @Doctorly
      @Doctorly  4 роки тому +1

      Glycolic acid can make your skin more dry, if you're prone to dry skin, especially when used with differin! If your skin reacts well to it, then continue but if you notice dryness and irritation, then back off of it!

    Hello there, is there any affordable sunscreen that’s water based, or not greasy that you would recommend? I’m currently using the Purito Comfy Water sunscreen. Thanks!

      The Purito sunscreens are a great option. I personally like the EltaMD UV clear sunscreen!

    Hey Doctor Shah. This comment is irrelevant to this specific video but I wanted to reach out to ask about your daily SKINCARE AM and PM recommendations video on TikTok. Any alternative brand than that of CeraVe Vitamin C cream? TO also has Vitamin C but I have no idea which one to go with. Please help.

    • @Doctorly
      @Doctorly  4 роки тому +1

      Good question - there’s several other vitamin C options. Currently, I’m using the vitamin C from skinceuticals, CE ferulic. But it’s very expensive. I haven’t been too impressed with the vitamin C options from TO - but I like their alpha arbutin with 8% vitamin C option, but it’s really only good if you have dark spots that you want to fade too. Vichy has a good vitamin C option, drunk elephant C firma, and Paula’s choice C15 booster

  • @joshrios7734

    Could you discusss Seysara? I was recently prescribed it but there’s so little info on it from what I saw. Do you use it in your practice and if yes, do you prefer prescribing it over doxycycline?

    • @Doctorly
      @Doctorly  4 роки тому

      We use it occasionally but many patients have trouble acquiring it for a reasonable price, as it is not as widely available as doxycycline is. It is suppose to be more narrow-spectrum than doxycycline - meaning it might have less gut-related side effects.
