- I'm so grateful to be joined on this song by the great jazz pianist Cormac McCarthy, who always surprises and delights me with his playing.
"An Rabhais ar an gCarraig" dates from the 17th century where the singer is estranged from their lover. It was also used in coded form during the Penal Laws when Mass in Ireland was attended at remote gatherings in secret, and the “Carraig” was the “Mass rock” used as a meeting-place and altar.
both vocals and facial expressions are so sensitive and emotive. what an adorable and endearing woman❤
Absolutely gorgeous! And so interesting and special to hear Irish with this kind of accompaniment.
Truly: BEAUTIFUL! Soul touching! 5 Star piano work to support this incredibly lovely vocal presentation!!!!!!
Bravo à vous, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, d'aborder ces chants de contralto qui vont si bien à votre voix de velours, si belle dans le grave. Quel plaisir à vous écouter… Merci mille fois…
Absolutely divine Muireann - you are so gifted. Your voice is a marvel and it moves me every time.
My god woman. Prodigal voice like Garland and few others. Holy Mackeral- Operatic! Evokes several simultaneous emotions as the ancients intended. I have been told..and so I have been quite touched by your sound..and your soul..
Un Ange passe souvent dans mon ciel, c'est Muirean, Comme quoi la vie vaut d'être vécue.
Thank you for bringing this haunting beauty into the world!!
