- Got to 6.4Km! My new personal best!
And I think I'll settle on this record for now. It's somewhat nerve wracking going that far.
My next plan would be to take off nearer the mountain and fly towards the peak/s.
Also planning to build a plane or fixed wing that can easily go the distance I want to, without being too heavy.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed and watched my other videos! Thank you for the thumbs-up. Thank you!
Update: ExpressLRS v1.0.0 just released! Congratulations to everyone involved in the project!
You can catch me over at the ExpressLRS Discord: / discord
What's ExpressLRS? github.com/Exp...
P.S. I am not competing with anyone with these range tests. These tests are done to simply feed my curiosity and to test how brave I can be sending it. If you've reached much farther distances than I have, good for you! Congratulations. Please don't comment you've done better, because you'll just gonna get the same kudos from me.. :)

Deadbyte you're an absolute monster! I can't believe that sort of range was possible on 10mW. So awesome to have you as part of the ELRS team.
Thank you for your comment! It meant a lot!
I still can't believe 10mW is enough to get that much range, and I always wonder why other flyers *need* 1W. Thank you for your hard work!
Nice flight. Thanks for solving my st link flashing issue too
Congratulations my friend, great fly!
Thank you very much!
good flight man,
did you ever try to put the antenna horizontal in the front of your quad?
I see your signal is weak on the way back...
but 6km is quite far for 10mw.
good job.
what antenna you use on your tx?
Stock Receiver antenna is horizontal at the back of the kwad. Which also explains why the signal is significantly lower on the flight back.
TX Antenna, as per vid description, is the Super 8, resoldered at the base of the coax to reinforce that section where it usually breaks, set horizontally.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@deadbyteDrones thanks for the fast answer. yes now I see you put it in the video discribtiton... sorry I not read that at the first time.
I also use a resoldered super8 antenna on my Elrs system. works pretty well, but I don't have the balls to go out 6km on 10mw, even I have rescue mode working. 😁
I use to go at 100mw and my battery is the limit to go out 5 to 6km.
well done mate, hope to see more from you.
happy flying
that's awesome!! i have seen ,people who go 2.6v low on Li batterys
Thank you..
Super8 Antenna (repaired/improved; horizontal), What does the repaired/improved mean? Some balancing to get better swr? I have almost the same setup, but on 868mhz and I get around -50 to -70 dbi if I am 2-3 meters away, I tried 2 different RXs and the result is the same so I suspect the TX antenna
I have reinforced the area where the RP-SMA and the coax meet by melting some more solder around it. This makes the area stiffer and less prone to breaking.
I have since replaced the super8 with a ProFlex Dipole from Prodrone, just so I have confidence the super8 will not break on me.
It's a great video but I would like to see a range test at the same altitude I would bet it wouldn't get half that range but I have been wrong before
Incredibile distance!! I have the same module, but seams don't work well like yours...which ratio do you use?
I showed the radio in the first few seconds of the vid. Description also list my equipment. It's the Radiomaster TX16S SE.
@@deadbyteDrones i'll take a look! Thank you very much 😉👍
@@fabryreda I did tell you on that response though..
it's the Radiomaster TX16S SE.
Hi. What TX Antenna model are you using? Salute from Brazil.
It's the Super8 antenna that came with the R9M. However, I reinforced the connection of the shielding with the RP-SMA connector.
@@deadbyteDrones Please, could explain the reinforcing process?
@@RaynerGS I just added more solder on the connection between shielding sheath of the coax and the RP-SMA. The whole perimeter.
Then I ordered a 915 Antenna from pyrodrone.pl
Hi, It was fantastic!
What’s your vtx and goggles module?
As per video description, I'm using Rush Tank II Ultimate, at 800mW. The goggles is a Fatshark Scout modified so I can connect a VAS Crosshair Extreme.
@@deadbyteDrones great! Thanks 😊
Just recently flashed my R9 with ELRS. I'm not getting that strong dbm at 10mw even while the Rx and TX are very close.
Min is -45 around and at 1 meter distance it goes down to -60 . Can you please suggest where I'm going wrong? Tested with two quads and same result
Are you still using the Super 8 antenna?
How are your antennas mounted on both kwad and module?
The Bench Test section of the website have some troubleshooting guide.
@@deadbyteDrones Sorry for replying late. Didn't get a notification
Yes, using the super 8 antenna. And both in quad and transmitter they are horizontally mounted
What is the critical for these lions? Is it possible to discharge them to 2.5V?
Yes, per the manufacturer's Spec Sheet.
BUT, by then, your motors might not be able to produce enough thrust to keep the drone in the air. Lost a drone because of this.
I have a problem, my range is so bad with it. 400 meters and failsafe. A new reciever and antenna are helping nothing ( other reciever placement too). I flasht both new? My lq is most of the time high but the rssidb is so low i have after 300meters -90 at 50 mw ???? Can someone help me
Sorry bud, this ain't the right channel for this. Go into ExpressLRS discord. I'll be there.
Oau i cant belive this because i have about the same gear but on 500Mv i got rxloose error at around 100m with obstacle and on the original firmware i whose not having this problems
Pretty repeatable for me. I've posted quite a few PR testing videos on the 900MHz system.
R9M would heat up at 500mW with ExpressLRS without any active cooling solution.
@@deadbyteDrones
Thanks
I have been flying just for around 2 min with dynamic setup and half off dat who’s around me
But i got the same values after this testing
Hello
thanks for your help
i have find the surse off mine problem and whoose the reciver
i have flashed one olde reciver dat i whoose planing to trow in the been and now is working
i have tested and i got such a stady signal not like the other reciver
👍🤙
I just want to make it too the mailbox nit trying to circle the earth
gopro audio? :)
No. It was the audio from vtx.
😍👌
Q más mi amigo
Q modificación le ISO a la super ocho para tener mejor rango
I just resoldered/reinforced the connection between the connector and the coax shielding.
I've since ditched the super 8 in favor of a Prodrone 900 T-Dipole
Is this 2.4ghz
Title says 915MHz..
Why can't we just build a drone to fly to space 😄
