    The beautiful Deep sea Scallop at 18:27 had some live hitch hikers, a limpet and some small periwinkles. I didn't realize this initially however, I did shortly after and I was able to place the shell back in the water so that these creatures could go on to live their lives 🐚💙

    I love how you alert people to not take any shells with other shells living on them. And I love your sense of adventure crawling under the dock. You are one of the best! Thank you for taking me on your adventures. I live in Ontario but spent many winters on the East coast of Florida and loved shelling sooo much. The more you learn about the shells it just gets better and better.

    You've taken me to some pretty nice places, but under a lobster dock?!...with cobwebs??...what kind of spider lives under the docks?...merspiders?...lol...! This was a pretty interesting trip and thanx for braving the extreme cold water~!!!!...and, again thanx for letting me tag along on yet one more adventure...in 4K...!!!

      Hi shell friend! Spiders in Maine aren't harmful at all, actually they are helpful in removing other insect pests! I am so happy that you are able to enjoy all of this content on your 4k TV! Looking forward to seeing you on the next one!

      It's quite amazing what a little bit of cleaning can do for some of these shells. Of course sometimes I prefer the character of their natural state, but it's refreshing to see the transition!
      Thanks for watching!

      I don't usually get into the ocean in Maine in April, lol, but I had to grab some of those big ones!
      Lake Michigan is gorgeous! I spent a couple days camping at Sleeping Bear 5 years ago, and it was an unforgettable experience.

    Thank you for sharing another great video. The northern whelkes, sea scallops, the blue muscles, and the horse muscles and the moon snail was very nice. The Neptune was nice as well. It is always nice to see your fur baby with you. Thank you again for another great shelling video. Have a wonderful day.

    I absolutely LOVE the cleaning process. The best method I’ve found so far is actually white vinegar. Although the muriatic acid dip is more satisfying. :)

    Thank you for the Maine videos. I hope to be moving to the Lubec area in a few years and there is nothing quite like searching for treasures of all kinds at low tide there. I would never be brave enough to go without shoes though.

    Are the rocks a natural occurrence brought in by the water or were they added to help with beach erosion?

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  Рік тому +1

      All of those beach stones are naturally occurring - Maine is a geological wonderland! I believe many of the stones are granite, quartz, and rhyolite.
      Thanks for watching!
