  • This is one of the very few recordings of the late Harry Brown - a well-known figure on the Nottingham jazz scene in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, who played all over the East Midlands and regularly at the White Post Inn restaurant (Farnsfield) and the Green Dragon in Oxton. At the time, I made many good recordings of Harry and his Trio (some with singer Jyll Ball) but sadly all were recorded over some time after they were made or have been lost over the intervening years. There is some slightly-intrusive background noise from the party on this short recording - but despite this, I felt it was still worth an airing as a tribute to a very popular pianist.
I must thank Bob Hudson for providing the majority of this material some time ago from his personal archive.
