    So, I want to set up an access point at the other end of my house where signal is weak.. The weak signal spot does have ether net cable hub. How do I set this up? Just plug the ethernet port to the hub? Oh, I have wireless router with SSID on.
    Thanks.

      Theoretically it should work, but I can see many things going wrong... Quite unlikely that you won't get the performance you desire, but not impossible.

    Hi James, great video, super helpful.
    If I use the default access point mode, is it possible to also have a single wired connection out of the access point into my pc?
    I’m hoping to use the wire that I usually connect straight into my pc to connect straight into the Access point in default mode, but also run a new ethernet out of the access point into my PC so that stays on the wired connection, while having better wireless out for my other devices.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  5 років тому

      You need a network switch. It costs around AUD $19-29 and it is essentially a splitter that you can then use to connect up to 4 devices. I would recommend the 5 port TP-LINK switch.

    If I use the Access Point TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 Wireless N300 and use a 2400 WiFi parabolic dish instead of the Omni Directional Antenna, how far can I get the frequency 100% without loss of quality ? ? ?

    Hi James, great videos.
    I just wanna ask you about this device. Did you had any problem with Access Point Mode? i just bought it 3 weeks ago and for 2 days first of use, any device can't connect to my wifi. My phone always connecting to another wifi after trying connect to my TP-Link. It means my device (all of my device) can't pairing with this Access Point. But when i restart the Access Point, it's normally work again. And after one or two days the trouble is come back. By the way, i used PoE for the power. And i have try with 15 meters and 1 meter cable and there is no diferent. Any suggestion or something that can help me?
    Thank You.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 роки тому

      Have you tried a full factory reset of the device? Do you mean that the devices cannot connect at all or won't connect automatically? Perhaps the access point is fault? I use 3 of these at my church in access point mode and have no issues. One of them is also running POE on like a 40-50m run haha.

    • @hokkandeltapackindustri1385
      @hokkandeltapackindustri1385 4 роки тому

      @@jcunboxing Glad to hear that. I mean there is no problem with the devices and it's firmware in production. in the past problem is the devices cannot connect at all even the SSID showing in the list. I think so, there is problem in the PoE module from the device. And for now i had done the factory reset last night and try with power adapter directly. Hope it works well.

      Hard to say, so many factors play in that situation. I would say you can go for a different router that's more designed to be ceiling mounted. Or you can look into getting a mesh network, which I think is more reliable.

    • @jong5306
      @jong5306 4 роки тому +1

      I have the same issue. Seems that the Ethernet port is only 100Mb so if you’re plugging into a network with a faster internet connection, this is going to max out at 100Mb regardless. It’s a strange thing. 450Mb of wireless bandwidth is useless if the thing won’t connect to my internet faster than 100Mb...!

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 роки тому

      You're right that it's generally useless but not completely. If youre using wireless devices exclusively, local network transfer can get up to 450mbps. But ofc that's a very specific circumstance.

    • @jong5306
      @jong5306 4 роки тому

      Yes true. And to be fair, this is still giving me a boost beyond my existing WiFi in this part of my house which was dropping down to just 1-2Mb due to weak signal. For the price it’s not too bad; access points with gigabit Ethernet ports are certainly more expensive. But it’s 2020 and 10/100 ports really do need go the way of the dinosaurs now...

    Hi. I am a bit confused. I have a wireless router already and I have a cable going directly from my wireless router to this TP Link WA901ND. So basically I want to use it as a wired access point for a better wireless connection? Do any settings differ since the access point setup is made for wired routers? I read somewhere that it's best to turn off DHCP but I'm not sure? Thanks!

    • @jcunboxing
