Just bought my First Microtech saturday, Ultratech Two Tone Warhound And i am going to carry it and use the hell out of it I CAN’T WAIT 😫 Man $484 and if i Love it, i am going to get another
I carry one everyday, drop point M390 Apocalyptic finish blade. All I ever need in an EDC blade, love the clip as I can trust it to keep the knife on me even with the most strenous activities and even holding it in my hand, with the way it looks while closed, it is not readily apparent that I am holding a knife.
A red Microtech Ultratech (d/e) or tanto is my upcoming big knife purchase (hopefully). I've always wanted an OTF, as I feel like every knife collector needs one in their collection!
I just received my first Ultratech today, black handle/black hardware/Black tanto blade. Very nice but challenging to close. Opening seems easy enough. Really nice blade and the knife feels great.
I just got my first Ultratech today and man, I already love it! Blue handle with black D/E blade, and yes, Break Free CLP makes a HUGE difference, thanks for the advice
I have one just like this one, and I initially got it for variety, but it's actually just a really good knife, it's become a user for me. I love how slim and boxy it is, makes it easy to carry, and it doesn't look like a knife it just looks like a box. Mine is the contoured model, so the edges are a little knocked down, but it doesn't really seem any different from the regular model by enough to matter.
All ultratechs are contoured/chamfered now. It was an design update to the platform several years ago. Wish they would do it to the troodons also, love my troodon but the ultratech is a little more comfortable in hand
I have a utx 70 ca and I think that’s the perfect size for the work I do (landscape maintenance). Even if full size otfs were legal in Cali I’d still opt for a sub 2 inch blade.
I kind of agree. The small sub 2 in blade is a great size and I’m glad these company’s are making them for all of us in CAL. Not gunna lie tho I do wish I could have a solid 4 inch OTF.
I understand where you're coming from with the proprietary hardware, but personally i love the aesthetics of them. Torx screws would look kinda blah in my microtechs. But thats just me... I also dished out the money for the bits so i am able to take my microtechs apart. BHQ actually has some reasonably priced bits in stock
I think that the production and quality of workmanship on Microtechs is outstanding. Attention to detail is excellent, as is the choice of materials and construction.
Hey. I just got the new Ultratech called step side. Very nice and I highly recommend. If you want I can ship it to you to review. I also got the extremely rare sandtrooper Ultratech. That’s right not Exocet but Ultratech. My theory on dagger style blades if I can get it in full serrated on one side I always do. It just makes more sense and makes it that much more versatile. Btw the single edge you just got is what got me into OTF knives a few years ago and I have been collecting Otf knives since. I own about 100 total most of them are microtech. Last thing they did make an Ultratech with regular screws but it’s a signature series dlc model with nickel boron internals and blood grooves similar to scarab and retailed at $700 earlier this year and as you might guess sold out in minutes. I think they had it in tanto a year or so ago but it is all black and says nickel boron internals with the non proprietary glass breaker as well as the screws similar to scarab and the combat troodon that’s also available in nickel boron internals which are supposedly nearly corrosion proof and have blood grooves for easy cleaning. If you want to review any of these I am down to send you one at a time or whatever and I am two days out of receiving the newest deadlock model c… now that’s exciting !!!!
I have the green w/ apocalyptic bronze ultratech with the drop point blade like yours. Thic tip that comes on these drop points. Great knife to use every day. Hard to gunk up like a Infidel. They just work. Wish I would have bought the dagger with the fine edge on bottom, full serrations on top but, maybe another time. That action is nice when it breaks in. Love the Ultratech. Perfect edc knife.
You know one thing That bothers the s*** out of me, and I just got a ultratech ZBT, they can never get them hair shaving sharp, like Spiderco does consistently. I do understand the blade geometry is different with D/Es, but Tony himself did it on camera on UA-cam and made it hair shaving sharp.
Oh yeah I also just got my first invictus / Protech all blacked out with neon green plunger. I do own about 20-30 Protechs but this was my first werx desgn collab and I have to say that it may be the best OTS I have ever owned and I have at least 4 socom elite autos, stitch, a bunch of Protech godfathers dons godsons and tactical responses all of which are either close in price or more expensive and this new invictus is hands down the best in every category grip, action, design, utility, size. It’s no wonder they only made 100 of them for that G12 convention that just ended about a week ago in Vegas but anyway I highly recommend
MC! I just bought my first microtech ultratech. Right off the bat, I noticed quite a bit of rattle in the firing switch. Especially in the open position. Is that how yours are?
I’ve had mine since March and I honestly love it but I’ve been thinking of letting it go and maybe getting a socom for some more heavier use, what would your opinion be on that?
Metal Complex, I have a question for you sir if you don't mind. What container of Break Free CLP are you using to lubricate the switch on your Microtech Ultratech and where did you happen to get it from? Could you please let me know, it would be highly appreciated!!!
Have had my exocet bounty hunter for a couple weeks now and aside from the high maintenance these knives require I love it it's one of my favorite edc knives I also use it for work at Wall Mart it's small enough to use there without scaring anyone I definitely want an ultratech I'd love the bounty hunter will those come back or are they gone?
I got an axial must admit I love the design love the color the action fires harder than my microtechs but it does have quite a bit more blade play than the Microtechs. I know you and a few others said the axial was about the same play so I wonder if I got a bad one or if maybe y’all didn’t compare side by side. Oh also must admit the action is a lot easier to fire on the axial Microtechs will hurt your finger lol axial a lot smoother in that regard.
Do you still own your Dirac Delta? I remember watching a vid of one you purchased almost a year ago and remember you saying it was the best OTF design that you had experienced up to that point (or something similar to that effect). The DD is my grail knife (ergos, sizing, the fact that it’s a MT) so I’m curious if your opinion on it had changed after extensive wear/use…
@@petejimenez425 Tell me about it. Closest I got was an email re-stock and by the time I tried to check out the item was gone so someone had faster fingers than I did lol
@@TonytheTyga I did see a site that has one for like $1045 a bit too much for me right now but I will send you the link if you want brotha oh wait looks like they have another one priced at a much more reasonable $795.00 that's only like a new glock and about 500 rounds 😉
I bought a 35 after seeing all the hype and other than the switch I actually didn't like it. Compared to my Ultratechs it had more blade play, rattled when open or closed and the edge grinds were noticeably uneven. I ended up returning it. Just didn't feel like it should be around the same price as the ultratech maybe if it was closer to 200. That's just my opinion.

@@bw8582 Interesting, they label some contoured and some not, how confusing!
I got the same but UTX-85 and bronzed blade and trigger. Love that thing
I’ve been carrying a tanto ultratech for almost 4 years. It’s an awesome edc knife.

I think they are cool but for the money a micro tech costs they could throw them in the purchase IMO.
I think that the production and quality of workmanship on Microtechs is outstanding. Attention to detail is excellent, as is the choice of materials and construction.
I bought the Ultratech with a blue distressed scales and apocalyptic finish single edge blade. I edc it often!! Great pickup!!!

I’m still leaning towards the guardian 4.0 seems a good blade to me!!!!! What are your thoughts on that?????
Bradford guardians are some of the best fixed blades on the market. The G3 is the perfect edc fixed blade.

This one or Dirac Delta?
I want one but I have mixed feelings about buying something I can't carry in CA.
I don't not buy or not carry any knife in California because of the law. I just carry what i want regardless of legality
What production year Ultratech did DLT send you?
Why is the Hera so much more than just the plain ultratech?
I definitely understand not wanting to mess up your hell hound lol
You can get Chinese bits on eBay for almost nothing if you need to take it apart
Haven’t seen a review of the Red Horse hell razor. Do you want one for review
I have no reference point, seeing as how it’s my first one. I need your expertise
Man i'm contemplating replacing my utx 85 with an ultratech. Just wanna try the bigger size
Can't go wrong either way! I purchased a UTX-85 T/E, then a couple weeks later, an Ultratech S/E. I kind of prefer the Ultratech, personally.
I’ve owned both and still have my Ultratech. I didn’t find much difference in the pocket but there was a difference in my hand for me.
I own one of those. After you buy one it's no big deal.

Damn i just bought a microtech knife and the button is stiff as fuck 😂😂😂😂 about to spray wd 40 on it
Looks great
Nice I love my ultratech
