This reminds me of a story my father used to tell me. He was working at a deli, and had to cut a roll for someone’s sandwich, and grabbed one of the high grade steel, professionally sharpened butcher’s knives, and it cut straight through the roll and into his hand. THAT is a sharp knife.
I’m a clinical psychologist myself and I wasn’t really sure about watching this video but let me tell you explained it in a simple and friendly way but at the same time professionally that I liked it a lot.
I am afraid I must disagree with this video. I used to work in shipping and receiving where(shockingly) we were required to open boxes frequently. As a result I occasionally attempted to loan my coworkers the most basic pocketknife from Gerber you have ever seen. They looked at it like a venomous snake in my hand. It was just a little depressing. . .
@VaderxG I assure you, insurance was not on their minds, as they reacted in a similar fashion when offered a second pocketknife that was in fact a box cutter, intended for such a purpose. The type of knife was not the issue. Even when I stopped and attempted to patiently teach them how to operate the knife they had the previously mentioned reaction. Again, these were among the simplest, uncomplicated blades out there.
I see your point, but i think certain knives give off certain vibes as well as it comes down to the individual. Ive handed a buck 110 to sombody and they generally are "wowed" by it and can figure it out pretty easily ive also handed the same people a protech newport and ive seen them almost shit themselves. So i do think there are certain knives you dont give to people. People would still look at a paraframe as a murder weapon but sure as hell alot less than a socom elite.
Bruh, that moment when a 15 year old can use a knife better than a grown adult. Of course, i was in boy scouts and own a couple knives, and flip balisong trainers regularly. I would more or less never flip a real Bali tho because the one time i did my friend dared me to do an aerial and i cut my thumb open (teenage stupidity lmao). But yeah, i would honestly love to work in a place with knives, i love knives and idk why i just do, they are cool and i can protect myself with them, make cool things with wood with them and whatever. I know you prolly dont care about any of this so ill shut up lmao
@@techtutorvideos people without experience handling and using knives will view a pocket knife more as a weapon and not a tool so to them when you hand them a knife their first thought might not be "this guy is being helpful" but instead "why do they have a knife" handing them a boxcutter isnt seen as weird because they dont view a boxcutter as a weapon but as a tool for opening boxes. Its all down to inexperience and seeing them as weapons not tools
Don't forget the three types of people, the ones you trust with a sharp knife, the ones you trust with a butter knife, and the ones you think twice about giving a plastic fast food knife. Learned one of my friends was not the first category when he opened the box of my new chef knife upside-down, tried to catch the now tumbling knife, sending the knife spinning across the room, and sending himself to the ER for stitches.
I'm not handing someone a benchmade because frankly it costs more than most people would be willing to replace if they screwed it up Its nothing to do with poking or cutting
HoneyGlzedHam what before or after you kill enough people to go down in history as the person who went on a killing streak by throwing knives at people lol
I once had recently sharpened my most precious fixed blade knife, just a small one with a 4 inch scandigrind blade, which I made the handle and sheath myself (and it was the first one I made so it has a lot of sentimental value too). The blade was forged by a very skilled bladesmith. I had been lucky that time and gotten it really f'n sharp. And some guy wanted to look at it, and as I handed it to him, I looked him in the eyes and told him to be careful because it was genuinely razor sharp. The first thing this adult man whom appeared to understand what I just explained to him, takes his left thumb and sweeps it ALONG the edge, giving himself a deep cut. He then throws the bloodsoaked knife on the ground, making a nasty dent in the handle and just fucks off to try and mend his stupid thumb. He never asked to see any of my knifes again. What a pillock. Edit: typos.

The problem is most people haven't handled actually razor sharp knives before
Lol, this happens a lot. I let someone see my benchmade balisong (like the one in the video). I told them it was very sharp, etc. and 5 seconds later they cut themselves with it. I stopped letting people see that knife. :)
People grow up with gas station knives made of graham cracker steel, never sharpen them, and then say they are "knife guys". I don't think a lot of people have experienced an actually sharp knife before

I use the Milwaukee Fast Back for the quick open and close and people still act like that's fancy.
You know now I want a paragon warlock
Don't forget the three types of people, the ones you trust with a sharp knife, the ones you trust with a butter knife, and the ones you think twice about giving a plastic fast food knife. Learned one of my friends was not the first category when he opened the box of my new chef knife upside-down, tried to catch the now tumbling knife, sending the knife spinning across the room, and sending himself to the ER for stitches.
i physicall felt that, omg.
I'm not handing someone a benchmade because frankly it costs more than most people would be willing to replace if they screwed it up
