EASIEST way to hang something on drywall (E Z anchor)

- Every day life requires you to hang something on drywall. For years I thought if I couldn’t hang it on a stud the item was just going to fall right off the wall. A friend told me about a product called ez anchor. I couldn’t believe I’ve never seen this before. They’re a little expensive but they work so easy and they are so strong. Sometimes I think they work better than actually hitting the stud. The nice thing now is when I want to hang a picture in the middle of the wall, the picture actually ends up in the middle of the wall not where a stud is. Hope you find a video useful.

Just watched this video and installed two floating shelves. Used 16 of these, and not a single hiccup throughout the process. Amazing stuff
I love these too. Very handy. Makes hanging almost anything so easy 😉
Great information, even better delivery. “Now it’s time for a cup of coffee” I agree.
👍👍
Thanks for this video! This will be my wall anchor of choice from now on. Time for a cup of coffee...lol!
I usually have coffee before doing reno projects and something stronger once they're done :) .. nice video
These are the best! They’re the only anchors I use!
Nicely played! Enjoyed and learned.
I have to agree that these are the best, and quite easy to use
They are called Wall Mates in Australia, they are fine for "lighter" options, wouldn't use them for cabinets or anything as heavy, Super Wall Mates are metal and have a "tab" that clamps behind the wall. Always use a screw driver carefully to screw them in, never use a drill or driver or you risk over tightening so they end up ripping out the Gyprock (dry wall).
Excellent video! Exactly what I needed!
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you!!!!! You’re the man!!
thank you so much for this video. My heavy curtains fell off their nail and I was wondering how to fix it. I will be going and getting the E Z anchor.
Ron Swanson vibe.
Also, informative thanks!
Awesome thanks i needed a visual demonstration 😂
Same high five 🙌 visual learner here
:DDD
Omg thank you!!! I was about to drill a big old hole for the anchors...the ixthot i better you tube it ..thank goodness...and you!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!! I have tried to watch other videos and they had all of these fancy tools when all I have is a regular scew driver.
👍👍
Good luck using a screw driver
Thanks for the info
Thanks 😁
Thank youuuuuu!
Very nice
Thanks for this video; ez anchor was foreign to me......so glad I watched your video before I used a gigantic drill bit.
👍
I replied to Michelle...yeah, I tried my first one and SNAP! Busted...couldn't handle the torque of turning my screwdriver.
...never happened to me in 25 years, and I’ve used power screwdriver since day 1....
Your a beast
I've attempted to use these pos anchores many times always resulting in a 1/2 inch hole in my wall
Sameeeee
They are fiddly to use, if your'e careful it is possible to use them successfully but I wouldn't be hanging a cabinet on them.
@@rafahul Shouldn't be drilling at all to install the anchor and if you are drilling through the item your'e hanging then the hole should be slightly bigger than the screw so the screw turns without "bighting" the hanged item.
...I’ve used these for around 25 years...they work great...won’t use anything else...
My life lol
Get to it
Idk man. The screws that come with the anchors do not screw all the way in n it’s so frustrating.
Does each individual anchor hold 50 lbs? I’m thinking of using a few say 5 so I’m thinking it will hold 250lbs? Is that how it works I have no experience with this.
code seeker if your gonna hold something up that heavy they have other options especially if you can’t find a stud but for something that heavy I would go with a stud
the anchor can hold 50lb, the piece of shit drywall might break still though...
If the plastic part won’t screw in all the way, I guess there’s something behind the drywall? Even if the stud finder didn’t find anything?
A Stud probably..
Why is my screw getting stuck half way
In ? Not even by using a drill they go in
Is the screw stopping or spinning? If it's stopping then it sounds like the screw is too big for the anchor, if it's spinning the same could apply. These anchors work most of the time for me but when they don't I use a new anchor and change the hole position. You have to screw them in slowly and carefully and don't over tighten, never use a drill to drive them in.
This guy is hilarious, his dead pan
I have these and I've tried a few times now and they keep breaking. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?
That's exactly why I'm watching this video.......tried to screw one in and..........SNAP! The video states we don't need a pilot hole...hmm. Maybe I/we need to drill a pilot hole and then screw one in? Did you drill a pilot hole? I did not...
Stephen Jones I’ve tried both ways. Sometimes they break before I’ve even started on the real screw.
@@Michelle_Vargo_ Some break.....some don't.
Use the metal ones, far stronger.....
use your screwdriver to create a hole first and then insert the easy anchor. you should pre-drill 1/4” hole. Also the plastic ones snap easier than the metal ones but should be fine if drilling in advance
👏👏👏👍🙏
What drill bit size did you use for the drill holes?
As I recall it’s very forgiving, an eighth of an inch would give you the position to start spinning the plastic part. It will Cut into the drywall by itself. These things really do seem to hold a lot of weight, are used to always look for a stud to hang stuff, but of course the study is always in the wrong place. These are expensive but they do give some nice options.
Live Free thank you!

@@BlazingWookie New Hampshire in the house !
Can I hang a 40" TV If I use the metal ones.....
No
2020.09.02
It just won't go in the wall
Damn.....
had no problem putting the anchor into the wall but then when I try to screw the screws into the plastic, it doesn't go in. the whole thing rotates :(
You have to screw them in slowly and carefully and don't over tighten, never use a drill to drive them in. Make sure you use the correct gauge screw.
@@kevintango6567 thanks for the answer... I'm screwed then... I tried to use a drill :( Should I patch up that dry wall and start again in another location?
@@rds4629 Yep, that's really the only option. Depending on what your'e hanging, there might be stronger anchors available, we have the same anchors in metal here in Australia.
These are the best for creating problems. Turn them slightly too far and they strip and fall out. No thanks!
How about predrilling a hole. Like a 16th of an inch. Would that help in better guiding these anchors? I like things to be perfectly level, so I don’t want the anchors to misalign.
they are terrible, they do mushroom you need to pre-drill and even then it is hard to get in flush.
Don't use these!!! I tried them and all they did was make a massive hole in my wall.
Am I watching someone screw i a drywall anchor or watching an intro to a porno movie? 😲
