The Yamanote line jingles are still in my head even 4 years after visiting Tokyo
It’s about time to visit again and hear the jingles in person! 👍
Same bruh
Still stuck in ny head after visiting 4 months ago... Can't wait to go back next summer . 😭
Frfr
Same here. My wedding holiday was in 2019 all along Japan and i still they sounds in my mind...
The amount of trains on the other Yamanote Line track shows how consistent and accurate Japan's rail network is.
The throughput is insane. Imagine the capacity with literally 20 of these trains with like 12 carriages per hour.
I wouldn't say consistent, 'accident(actually suicide)' everyday...

Once you heard and experienced the sounds of the Yamanote line, they will stay in your mind forever ❤
It’s been almost 5 years since I visited Tokyo for the last time. And thanks to this video, I just had my ultimate ‘damn I need to go back’ moment 😄
💯 the last time I was in Tokyo was in 2011 and I remember every single jingle from this line it’s insane!
theres nothing like it
I even make the chime my ringtone
Im just from Canada. seriously the best 'trains' ive ridden have been a single track overground one, along with subways a few times in Toronto. This looks like bliss to ride and even experience. Also kudos for English included in the intercom too, Honto Arigatou to them for sure.
@@kimmyera174 our trains are pretty trash compared to the rest of the world. It's all freight in Canada except for VIA trains which aren't that great and too expensive to be used regularly. I suppose the commuter GO trains are our best ones in Toronto.
I haven’t been to Tokyo since 2014. Yamanote line gives me so much fond memories. My most recent trip to Japan, I spent most of my time in Kansai and Hiroshima prefecture, I went all the way down to Hakata but only for a day trip to eat Ramen and walk around the area. All trains in Japan are great but Tokyo Trains are next level amazing.
Thanks for sharing your stories about Japan, Jason! Train trips are always memorable here in Japan! Food in Hiroshima prefecture is amazing!
Yeah the Tokyo Metro lines connects literally everywhere in Tokyo. You can literally go anywhere you want in Tokyo in comfort.
I'm coming back to Tokyo later this year (was there last in 2017) and to listen to this and remember the ambiance (and somehow comforting?) feeling of being on the Yamanote Loop, this makes me so damn excited to go back. Interesting how in every other country I've been to public transit was a nightmare, but it was a dream/pleasure/nostalgic in Japan.
It’s been one day since returning from Japan and I’m sitting here at work listening to this as I work. Mentally I’m still there 😭! Thank you for sharing this!!!
オーストラリアからこんにちは. It has been almost 15 years since I last worked in Tokyo, and I am long overdue for a return trip. I used to travel from Shibuya to Shinagawa everyday. Watching the train arrive at Shibuya I suddenly remembered that I used to always get on Car 1 because that would leave me next to the escalator at the end of the platform when I arrived at Shinagawa ❤ どうもありがとうございます!
That delay jingle at 12:52 is oddly satisfying
It's very painful to watch this and to think that in this precise moment someone is listening to all these beloved sounds. I was last in Tokyo in 2016, I think, and I miss it so much. Unfortunately I can not take the time off to visit once again. My Tokyo, my favourite city in the world. Last time I stayed in Ueno, before that, 2 or 3 times in the 1990's, in Ikebukuro. Tears come to my eyes. I hope I can return in the not too distant future.
The 90s too, must have been a wonderful time!

Japan felt like my second home. Unfortunately I haven't been able to return but every time I hit the lows, this clip heals me with fond memories of my time there. Thank you very much!!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this! It really means a lot to us that our videos can have an impact like this. We hope you can visit again some day soon!
@@audioodyssey3412 Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!
When I was first getting used to visiting and getting around Tokyo, I spent so much time on the Yamanote. Eventually I figured out the other lines and could move around more efficiently, but this'll always be super nostalgic for me.
I've been back home from Japan less than 2 days and I'm already looking up videos like these to listen to in the background while I work. 🥺 Ready to go back
I used to live in Japan and hearing the sounds from the trains especially this one always gives me flashbacks. What impresses me the most is the precision from the drivers.
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Pls more videos!!!
Thank you for uploading this video 🥺
Thank you so much, I can't wait until I'm finally able to visit Japan again!
Next year I am gonna be back. Thats my Motivation to go on
This puts a smile on my face, listening to the station sounds and taking a ride around the yamanote line. I was in Shinagawa and remember hitting the 7/11 then going over to the station and down the stairs for the JY line. Gotanda was another favorite of mine. thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching and sharing your memories of those stations! I wonder if the stations have changed much presently, to when you remember them.
This will never leave me. Went to Japan once and these sounds are super memorable.
I just come back from Tokyo and I'm already feeling nostalgic about these metro sounds lol
Watched this all the way through more than once. Takes me right back to Tokyo. Quite night in front of the TV with this on, no lights in the room and just relax.
Been riding this line almost everyday on the way to college and still am to this day for years to come.
Omg I just started watching for a few minutes and I'm already having some pavlovian reaction to the station jingles. I miss living in Tokyo.
the nostalgia i'm getting from this video is massive. just makes you want to jump on the next plane headed for tokyo. so many memories and so many lovely places. will be back.
If I managed to get a seat, I used to snooze a lot whenever I caught the trains in Tokyo. If I close my eyes I’m right back there. Thank you for this.
This is such an amazing POV for an average person like me. Thank you for sharing this video!
I was one of the many people who flooded into Japan this summer to visit. I stayed for about a week in a hostel not far from the uguisudani station, so I took this line a lot.
I already kinda miss Japan again. It was my first trip there, hopefully not my last. Next time I'll hopefully be a lot better at speaking Japanese...
going back in November, can't wait to ride the Yamanote line again!!
Thank you so much, loved getting to relive my travels
We appreciate your viewership! We hope that you can one day soon visit Japan again!
This is taking me back. Love Tokyo
Thank you for watching!
We hope you can visit Japan again one day soon!
Just came back from my first trip to Japan not too long ago mid-March. I rode the Yamanote line almost daily along with all the other lines around Tokyo. I never thought I would crave the ambiance of the Yamanote line. This makes me very happy to listen to, in a sad way - I miss Tokyo and the public transit. Thank you for uploading this!
Same! I wss there at the same time as you were. This train line was a nice highlight of my trip!
You guys have to go back there again
I visited Japan just a few months ago, and always take the Yamanote line. Japan has been my favourite place in the world.
Something about the announcers voice is so nice and satisfying
We can easily go to sleep watching and listening to this video. 😂
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic video and so many memories. I will definitely be listening to this in the background. Subscribed and looking forward to more!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for checking out the video! I'm glad that we were able to stir up some nostalgia for you with this video! I hope we can deliver more of this for you in the future. If you have any requests, please feel free to let us know!
The sound quality is soooooo good!
Thank you! We try our best to record the best quality sound!
see you in April! thank you for making this vdo. sounds of Japanese is so soothing. love it!
Amazing! Thank you so much for the viewership and kind words! We hope you enjoy your time in Japan in April!

Thanks for the comment! We’re happy you find the audio really good, its what we strive for when making longer videos. ✨✨✨
Thank you. Much appreciated!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for making this video, arigatou gozaimasu
Everytime I miss Japan, I’m searching for this kind of video
I love this! I love metro, cuz I live far away from our capital city where a metro is located, and I rarely visit it. We don't even have railways in our city!
But I remember when I've been in Moscow, and Yamanote line is very similar to our "Moscow Central Circle", which is actually not a metro line, but "on-ground" railway, but integrated into Moscow metro system.
But there's something special I noticed while listening to this video: there's a unique chime sound on each station (I'm not sure is it arrival sound or departure one), it adds so much vibe! And also this "arigatoo gozaimasu" :) Japan is so polite country! I wish I could visit it one day!
P. S. and also numbering the stations line "JY 12" is really helpful, some station names are hard to catch actually. It's a problem of Moscow metro: the names are just transliterated from Russian to English and would sound like "Novoslabotskaya" or "Ulitsa Tisacha Devyatsot Pyatogo Goda", ouch! It's just hard not just to catch, but even read! So yea, Tokio metro is so good at making things comfortable :)
Arigatoo gozaimasu for this video! :D
The ambience sounds are so PERFECT I turned around several times because I thought they were real world sound. Omg. Extraordinary quality.
Thanks so much for watching and LISTENING! 🥹
@@audioodyssey3412 Thank you for bringing this! I hope I can hear it in person soon, I wish to fly to Japan these years ❤
Thankyou for this, I stayed in Tokyo for a little over a month and just came back from my trip having regretted not recorded the audio of the stops and the announcements (especially where I stayed at Uguisudani Station). The Yamanote Line announcements was like ASMR 😮
Very nice sound. Tricks the brain to feel movement when you listen long enough. I visited Tokyo in 2009 and 2011 and traveled a lot on Yamanote line. This really takes me back.
Thanks for the comment and watching eonik! Please let us know if there are other nostalgic things you’d like us to record for you here in Tokyo! 👍
Love to see a well-done video! Returning viewer here!
Welcome aboard and thanks for coming along for the journey again!
Last time I've been in Tokyo was 2007, and I fondly remember all my train rides within Tokyo and Fuchu (where my office was that time). Hope to visit again Tokyo soon!!! Thanks for putting a video on the Yamanote Line. :)
We hope you can visit again soon too! We appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch our video!
@@audioodyssey3412 definitely! I'd love to go back to the place where there's lot of trains and that they run very efficiently! See you soon Tokyo! 😊
Its changed a bit since then. A lot more foreigners, Especially Indians, Holy crap are there a lot of Indian people in some areas. They also do announcements in a lot more languages than just English. A lot less paying with cash now as well. A lot of Americans streaming and talking to their cameras in some tourist areas.
Also they still have the woman's only train carriages except they're no longer legally enforceable since earlier this year the US forced Japan to change the law so that anyone can self id as a woman. So if you're a dude you can just barge into the woman's carriage and while people might get angry with you there's nothing they can do to remove you now. Thanks America!
Miss japan so much, missing these sounds. We used to travel to Japan twice or 3 times a year, the last trip was in december 2019 (we did 3 trips to Japan in 2019) and it was my son's 10th year trip to Japan. Then covid happened
We completely understand! We hope you can return again soon! The government is slowly trialing visitors this month and next month to select countries. We hope it’ll open to everyone soon! 👍
とても素敵な旅でした。 どうもありがとうございます。
I'm actually here to research and familiarize myself with the Yamanote line so I won't get lost when i get there. See you this autumn, Tokyo!
+1 follower here! Thanks for the great upload!
Welcome! Thanks for watching!
2 am in the morning and i miss travelling to Japan so much, i miss the ambient of the train, the music, the sound and this video really brings back my memories in Japan... COVID PLEASE GO AWAY, i want to travel to Japan again! 😭😭
We’re happy that our video can bring back some fond memories to you. We hope you and everyone else can return to Japan again sometime soon!
I was in Tokyo 8 weeks ago and used the Yamanote line every day. Also had a ride on the Yamabiko (Green shinkansen at right in the biginning of this video). It was to first of what I hope is many visits to Japan.
2016 and 2020 were my trips to Japan, being in Tokyo i used this line so many times and hearing this now makes me miss it a lot
Now that borders are open again, please come back to visit and ride the train again!
@@audioodyssey3412 I am currently jobless since the place where i worked closed recently but the idea is to re visit again, i always want to return
Whenever you return, there will be a lot of new things to see and do, in addition to all of the old things that give Japan its unique character.
I visited Tokyo twice back in 2013 and 2017! Lord knows how much i love and miss Japan. My family and i took the yamanote line often as we were staying in Shinjuku more convenient to go around tokyo. We just cant wait to go back to Japan. Thanks for the video
Thank you for watching our video and sharing your Tokyo experience! We hope you can return again very soon to experience it all again! ✨✨✨👍🎉🎉🎉
@@audioodyssey3412 I will plan to go, as long as my passport are renewed, I want to experience riding in Yamanote line, one of the most famous train lines in Japan.
Still remember my first ride in yamanote line last August that’s my unforgettable moment
So awesome
We had to leave japan last year that Sound i feel at home I hope I can go back soon
This player sure does play Densha de Go! pretty well
Very very nice!!! Also english announcements!!
I use videos of Tokyo Subway as brackground images and white noise. Best video to concentrate and be productive! This particular one is one of the best ones
Thank you so much for the comment! We're happy our video can help you out in concentration and productivity!
I like this travel, thank you.
Thank you for watching our video! We appreciate it! Take care! 👍
I love the loco pilots point and tell technique
The surround sound is incredible
Thank you for the comment! We are glad that you appreciate the sound quality!
I too was impressed by the audio quality! Great work!
Thank you!
28:16 i love the announcement sounds!
山手線って加速も減速もすごいよね、立ってると結構おっとっとってなる
Thank you
Very nice video, hopefully I can go to Japan one day. So, I can feel myself on board the train in there 😄
It's hard to believe that 2 weeks ago, I was standing right there at Hamamtsucho station @ 1:03:49. I always come from that side and i usually get to see the front view of the train (exactly like in the video). Even now, I can still hear the sounds of the Yamanote line in the back of my head. I miss it already 🥺
I miss visiting Japan and traveling in general. My family is telling me to move to Japan for university, so I was thinking of my possible transportation and came across this. The last time I visited was in January 2020 and I remember these train rides very well. I haven't been on an airplane since COVID. :(
With Japan opening up now to tourists, we hope that you can make your way back here again, especially for university!. Thank you watching our video! We appreciate it!

I miss yamanote line
Wow, the surround sounds are amazing
Thank you for watching! We're glad you appreciate the sound quality!
Forever the sounds of my second home.
Just sitting on my couch riding thru Tokyo...
I always wondered how long it would take to ride the Yamanote line all the way around. Now I know! This is so soothing. Thank you for posting!
Yamamoto line not Yamanote line
@@namupi Oops that was a typo. My mistake - I have fixed!
Wow… This is next level…
Thanks for watching!
Ahh so many memories on that line. At least 3 times I did the whole loop

I am looking forward to to Japan and I think Tokyo is a beautiful city 😄😄
We hope you can come to Japan soon! Thank you for watching! 👍
So much memories right now :D I want to visit Tokyo again
Tokyo is waiting for your return! Thank you for watching! 👍
山手線内回りの前面展望が見れて嬉しい
I can convey exactly the same feelings that many other people shared, and I feel the same nostalgy seeing this video. Used t travel to japan twice per year, even got a lover there. Last time was june 2019, then covid happened and the border control forced me to cancel my march 2020 trip. Since them I'm locked out of japan and I lost my lover too. Miss japan and miss her everyday, and videos like this bring me back to a happier place.
Thank you for sharing this videos.
Thanks so much for your thoughts! Now that Japan’s borders are open again, please come back and enjoy the trains!
It's crazy to think you don't really need a car (not saying that you can't) but it really helps getting around everywhere for cheaper.
Having stations in every city like they do would do wonders for health and well-being in the states.
Sadly the U.S. has a crime crisis on its hands at the moment. 😞
In Akihabara, the message "延発 18:30" is displayed.
The driver is instructed to "depart at 18 minutes 30 seconds because the later train is delayed"
Wow, thanks! I didn’t notice that! Great eyes! 👀👍
or it is 6:30PM?
@@hkpuipui99 Good idea! But we recorded this video at 3pm. So, miyakoutsuno would be correct. 👍
Same with Ueno then? It flashes 26:10
”depart at 18 min 30 sec because the later train is delayed”
Is that means the driver is instructed to depart later than scheduled time to prevent a phenomenon like “bus bunching” ?
5:59 love this!
My new sound while reading, really thank you for this.
Thank you so much for watching! We’re glad you like the audio as we strive to do that in each of our longer videos. ✨✨✨✨

Nice, subscribed. Japan looks like a wonderful country. The magic of the Internet and video's like this allow me to travel the world and to places i would never get. They show the real image and not one put together by travel agents.
Thank you so much for checking out our video! We hope you can visit Japan in person some time soon!
It's much slower than any ride I've had on this line and the driver is doing a lot of paperwork.
