And don't wait too long between shaving sessions. 1-2 days. Shaving is a form of exfoliation. Less buildup, less bumps. Shaving in a steamy shower helps too...steam opens up the pores, then exfoliating and even cleansing is more effective.
Girl do I have to shave? I don’t know how to shave 😭 And I don’t want to cut myself. I’m so scared 😢
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 lmao this is so me
Don't ever shave your legs if you don't suffer long hair growth. Once you start, it's a work for life. 😢
@@saa7181 so true
Can I call you the GOAT?
I needed someone to educate me and you did a wonderful job! I've had strawberry legs ever since I started shaving. My mom never knew about self-care so she didn't teach me so thank you for being my big sis for this!
Right, I never had a mom growing up..
Or hardly any female guidance.
same my mom didn’t really teach me that stuff, and so i relied on my sister but my mom would always say my sister was wasting money
@@you.dk_monica because his is probably the most unnecessary thing to get rid of if you’re not in the modeling realm or in a hot climate
Did this video work for you? Just wondering as a fellow strawberry legs sufferer
@@bellakiska It actually did! I exfoliate twice and week with a tree hut sugar scrub, moisturize every time I exfoliate, and only shave once a week. I didn't know the importance of exfoliating and moisturizing until now!! My strawberry legs are almost all gone and look so good now!
I’ve had strawberry legs all my life. That is a lot of steps 😢 to fix it. And thank you for sharing your experience. Basically, the legs need a bit more love and attention! Got it😅
It don’t work
It doesn't work for me, let it know if it works for you. Is shaving the key? Because I rarely do.
Same can't even wear anything like a skirt or shorts all I wear is pants
@@-ghost-4 strawberry legs is normal I was the same way it is less noticeable on some ppl but it’s completely normal 😭
@@Amethyst_su yes i just hate how it looks on me cause i'm so pale
I'm so glad I found you. I'm 22 and big on self care and hygiene. I wanna clear up my face most of all . I want clear skin over having to wear makeup
Try first aid products the facial soap is great I used to suffer bad acne and when I got the soap omg my face is so clean and bright!
Consult a dermatologist it can be a game changer
Cut back on eating sugar. People don't realize it causes skin blemishes. Start with that, getting enough sleep and eating vegetables and drinking water.
The Matrix spoke facts it’s definitely in your diet!
@@RASAAH777not necessarily. A bad diet isn't the only cause for acne. It can help if you have a bad diet to improve it, however this will only go so far if there are other causes. I had hormonal acne, and the only thing that worked for me after 3 or more years was Accutane. I tried pills, creams, face washes, and I used to have a way better diet than I do now and it still didn't fix my acne. My diet has definitely gone awry but the only acne I get is still from my hormone fluctuations.
I used to hate my KP, until one day my little cousin (3 y.o. girl) rubbed my leg and said, "I love your skin." My insecurity was instantly healed. 🥰🥰 Kids don't care about your faults, they love everyone. We should be like them.
That's adorable omg. I love babies, they're so pure 🤧
That's adorable. 🥰 My daughter is my biggest hype person ❤❤ She always inflates my confidence and I'm so grateful. 🥰
kids dont care but men do 🤪🤪
It's the 21st century. No one cares what men care about. Be like kids instead.
Okr❤
Guys. Strawberry legs are genetic, in the before her skin was dry. In the after her skin was wet which creates an illusion of shininess and smoothness. It's not going to work and that's why so many of you are in the comments saying it doesn't work for you.
She doesn't even look like she has kp....so misleading
If people want to treat kp aka strawberry legs, they gotta use products with salicylic acid or latic acid. It's just a build up of keratin. So far mines is going away and I use an ipl laser for hair removal.
Mine was caused by not exfoliating soo
Thanks for telling the truth
Ur wrong, sometimes it's genetic but there are ways to get rid of it cs I have it now but I didn't have it when I was younger
Be careful with sugar and salt scrubs, because they can be very abrading, causing tiny cuts that can scar and worsen the texture of your skin, so use a very gentle hand. They can tear you up, if you get too aggressive.
They can also harbor bacteria
I recently started getting sugar scrubs because I wanted to try them out. They haven't seem to roughen my skin but after using then nake it smooth like people have said before.
I do tend to be rough so I'll try not to be.
@@PrincessofKeys How did you do it?
@@PrincessofKeys Well, everyone's skin is different, and some may not have such problems, but if you have sensitive or problematic skin, then it can worsen the problems by using abrasives. I just mentioned it as a reminder to be aware of the nature of one's own skin, as it is the largest organ on our bodies, and to listen to it as we apply different things, as reactions can pop up, seemingly from nowhere, for no reason, and tiny adhesions can be an open door to them, in the same way that microneedling can. Not a huge worry, that it is likely to happen, just something to keep in mind, that it is a possibility, if done too aggressively. Who would have suspected such a possibility when using simple sugar and salt? 🤷♀
Indeed!
Horrible for sensitive skins like mine 😢
At this point you’re just coming for the bigger self care girlies 🛍🎀

I have eczema and just wanted to tell my fellow eczema ladies and lads: use unscented and very hydrating products only!! Fragranced products always make it worse for me and since shaving puts my skin under a lot of stress as is, I advise all of you to use unscented stuff and rinse with slightly cool water (hot water dries skin out more). Then go in with an unscented body lotion and baby oil to lock in moisture

Yeah...Keratosis pilaris is caused by the skin overproducing keratine. It's totally different from a dirt buildup.
Exactly!! No product she used was geared towards kp. Chemical exfoliants, tret & laser hair removal are dermatologist recommendations.
Thanks you!!
@@naturalblackgirlie are there cheaper options?
@@isohua i got it on my arms mostly, tried using the SA smoothing cream from CeraVe. and it helped me a lot, its not 100%. but that made my arms look so much better. i am also using salicylic acid based face gel cleanser for my body instead of shower gel
@naturalblackgirlie wait, I can put tret on my legs for it?? I already have a script for my face, so that would be super helpful!
That’s crazy because I have had them on my legs since I was a child
Leg hair makes it look worse use a depilatory shaving cream and also African black soap that really helped my KP a lot in just 5 days no joke love yall❤️❤️❤️❤️💯
Which African black soap ? Can u send the direct link ?
Thanks!
I use a depilatory masque too. I don’t grow much leg hair. But I do have KP.
I've literally had this since I was a girl and it is hereditary it doesn't just go away with shaving and a sugar scrub lol.
Yea the stuff she recommended is not how dermatologist treat it. Try products with chemical exfoliants (like a lotion with lactic acid and a body scrub with aha and bha).
Found the cure about 15 yrs ago, and I've been smooth sailing ever since! 🥰 it's the (extra strength skin tight) that treats razor bumps, guess it's the salicylic acid that's in it that makes it work wonders, use two times a day in the beginning once you are smooth sailing in about 3 wks then you can just use once a day, I like to apply it first on my skin then followed with my regular body cream or oil. If you stop using for too long the bumps will come back. Just keep using it lol. You're welcome! 😉🇯🇲🦵🏾😊
@@shasha-den174 What is the cure? Skin Tight? Where can I purchase it?
Yes, exactly… you need laser hair removal to remove the hair follicle entirely.
@@shasha-den174 hi! Can you please give me more steps? Like do I shave before putting the acid on or can I do it without shaving first?
I've used conditioners to shave with for years. I'm glad I'm not alone with this, it made a hugh difference in my shaving routine.
I love the way she says “Vitamin” in the beginning lol (she said VIT-AH-MEN) 😍 I’m saying it like that from now on. Sounds more important that way ☺️

quick tip!, shaving is not a good choice you should try sugar waxing or nair to prevent ingrown hairs and clogged pores which eventually will lead straight back to kp.
Thank you! I will definitely try sugar waxing x
@@jjustmichellee also if you do choice to shave you must go in the direction of how the hair grows to prevent ingrown hairs. Usually the hair grows down so eith these excellent step you just wanna go top to bottom of leg not bottom to top. Excellent information other than the direction of shaving. Do a quick search on it
You can still get ingrowns from waxing
@@ammszz5939 very little though, that’s why you exfoliate and pluck if needed .❤️

@forlife101 it doesn’t, but you have to take good care of your skin, exfoliate, use a gentle soap, lots of shaving cream or hair conditioner, and then body lotion and so on…and ingrown hairs…oh my god those are a pain in the *** it’s a lot of work but I got used to it, I have been doing it for a long time anyway

Ur tips are really useful, I'm glad that i found out ur video . ❤
Strawberry skin is not caused by a buildup of dead skin and oil in your pores. Buildup of oil and dead skin would be called sebaceous filaments. Keratosis Pilaris is caused by an accumulation of keratin in the hair follicles. This keratin plug can cause dead skin to accumulate which can contribute to that rough feeling but the actual cause these bumps is the buildup of keratin. The majority of the products you recommended aren’t going to make a difference in the appearance of KP regardless still a nice video
I have this issue and I need to find a solution. It's getting embarrassing.

I have the same question!
Am I the only one who don’t grow hair on legs at all , completely smooth and flat but have these ? I just think mine is genetics related like Freckles , had it since I was a kid and grew to think it’s cute.
Nope, u aren't! I just put a comment alerting others like us, 2 not bother watching video, as i don't have a need 2 shave. Still have tiny dark spots though.

Finally, people like me! I've been scouring the internet, but people like them actually grow out hair and get KP from shaving. I don't grow leg hair but have black spots all over my legs. I'm a bit disappointed again, but I'll have to keep looking.
Whether you grow hair or not, the hair follicules and pores are still there which means that you can still develop KP.
