  • Hey guys welcome back!!!
    Todays video is all about how to get rid of strawberry legs, (also know as Keratosis Pilaris). I’ll take you through my shower routine and shaving routine.
    Strawberry legs - also known as strawberry skin legs - occur when your hair follicles or pores are clogged with dirt, dead skin, bacteria or oil.

    And don't wait too long between shaving sessions. 1-2 days. Shaving is a form of exfoliation. Less buildup, less bumps. Shaving in a steamy shower helps too...steam opens up the pores, then exfoliating and even cleansing is more effective.

I had hormonal acne, and the only thing that worked for me after 3 or more years was Accutane. I tried pills, creams, face washes, and I used to have a way better diet than I do now and it still didn't fix my acne. Be careful with sugar and salt scrubs, because they can be very abrading, causing tiny cuts that can scar and worsen the texture of your skin, so use a very gentle hand. They can tear you up, if you get too aggressive.

      @@PrincessofKeys How did you do it?

    • @ThundermansThunder
      @ThundermansThunder Рік тому +10

      @@PrincessofKeys Well, everyone's skin is different, and some may not have such problems, but if you have sensitive or problematic skin, then it can worsen the problems by using abrasives. I just mentioned it as a reminder to be aware of the nature of one's own skin, as it is the largest organ on our bodies, and to listen to it as we apply different things, as reactions can pop up, seemingly from nowhere, for no reason, and tiny adhesions can be an open door to them, in the same way that microneedling can. Not a huge worry, that it is likely to happen, just something to keep in mind, that it is a possibility, if done too aggressively. Who would have suspected such a possibility when using simple sugar and salt? 🤷‍♀

Fragranced products always make it worse for me and since shaving puts my skin under a lot of stress as is, I advise all of you to use unscented stuff and rinse with slightly cool water (hot water dries skin out more). If you stop using for too long the bumps will come back. Just keep using it lol. You're welcome! 😉🇯🇲🦵🏾😊

    Strawberry skin is not caused by a buildup of dead skin and oil in your pores. Buildup of oil and dead skin would be called sebaceous filaments. Keratosis Pilaris is caused by an accumulation of keratin in the hair follicles. This keratin plug can cause dead skin to accumulate which can contribute to that rough feeling but the actual cause these bumps is the buildup of keratin. The majority of the products you recommended aren’t going to make a difference in the appearance of KP regardless still a nice video
