I used to be a pediatric nurse and diaper cream acts as a barrier to protect the broken down skin. I was taught after you put it on you don’t wipe it off on the next change. Just wipe normally and get rid of the poop. If you need to reapply in areas that is ok. After 1-2 changes it will probably come off and you can gently wipe the sensitive area and apply new. I hope this helps!
My baby had really bad diaper rash and also did the biggest poops I've ever seen come out of a child that small (literally took him to the dr due to poop size lmao) so I just didn't feel like he was clean or fresh if I didn't wipe all the diaper cream off and reapply afterwards!
I’m only in my second trimester so I haven’t been doing too much post-birth research (trying not to overwhelm myself). This is the first newborn video I’ve watched and it was so calm and reassuring. It makes me feel a little more informed and capable. Thank you! 😊
Hey! Do what makes you comfortable. Sometimes it’s best to live in the dark a little bit. If you want more encouragement, check out my “what I didn’t expect from motherhood” video 😊
A lot of your tips are exactly what I learned with my first. There is so many moms on you tube that think they need all these fancy things but it's refreshing to see another mom just using what you have instead of buying what you don't need
As an auntie not having children, I'll be coming back to your channel over and over again. Thank you for this, I'm always trying to look out for mom's self care and mental health. And I want to be supportive of moms before and after the baby is here. By watching this, I can give my cousins who are moms/future moms the breaks they need when I'm called to. There's no manual when it comes to being a parent, and this is the closest thing to it, thank you! I really wish I had your videos in my early 20's when I first started being an auntie, because I wasn't sure how to help. With your videos by my side, I can just look and find the answers I'm looking for.
These are great tips! As far as wipe hacks go, when I lay my baby down to change her I open my pack of wipes and go ahead and pull out a couple before I take off her diaper, that way I can just wipe freely, no struggle and if I happen to have one leftover at the end it’s simple to just fold it in half and tuck it back in the pack for later!
We always keep an extra large ziplock bag to put the pooped onsies in. Just pour some water in there and put it back in the diaper bag, throw it in the wash later :)
Dreft has an amazing stain remover!!!! Even if it’s been a few hours and the poop has dried I’ll spray it then rub it with paper towel some and leave it for a few minutes and spray it again right before throwing it in the washer. It’s been a life saver and kept white blown out clothes white and clean.
Not even a mom yet and was glued to the screen. You're so authentic and sweet, love your content 🥰 you also had me giggling which is so rare for UA-camrs these days, the poop soup and you trying to describe his privates without getting demonetized was absolute gold! Cheers from a fellow minimalism UA-camr❤️
I did the same thing with all my siblings before i even took diaper off i pulled out wipes depending on if just pee pee or poop would depend how many id pull out in advance lol made the changes so much faster also had the new diaper already under them
Great tips! Also in the comments. My babies have had awful diaper rashes for various reasons. ESP that teething poop that causes burns.. the absolute best thing and the most simple plus cheap, is plain cornstarch. Used like a powder on their bottoms, it dries it right up, feels soothing and heals it quickly! I’m never going back again! It’s truly amazing.
If u are able to, wenever the baby gets a rash, air drying the area works very very well. The rash heals a lot faster. Car seat tip was awesome thanks for that.
Also it can help to pre-prep the changing table before starting to change a diaper: so pulling out several wipes all ready and out helps a lot I tried this with my firstborn and can say it helped me prevent a lot of frustrations lol
That hair band tip is amazing! With my son I don’t remember actually doing anything to keep track and it just worked I guess. But I feel like this time my brain is in shambles and with a toddler already I’ll definitely need reminders! So thank you so much! So simple and effective! Xxx
Thanks for sharing! I kind of expected you to advertise different products but instead you advertised your ideas and tips without spending much or any money so i appreciate that!! Its the little things that make life easier haha like catching your wipe container with the drawer before they all come flying out!
Dreft Laundry Stain Remover - it removes all those yellow poop stains. I just removed stains from a white outfit last night, even after already washing it once before without spraying on the stain remover.
@@janinedear-barlow carrying my daughters car seat was as issue as it would bump into the floor and my legs.. Holding it up like that would prevent that issue.
Aquaphore is a life changer!!! Its clear, great for diaper rashes and other skin elements. Took me a while 😅 but a little does go a long way 1 jar for my to toddlers last about month/month 1/2. Thank you for the mom tips I found a lot of them helpful and needed.
We use a Summer infant bath sponge. They’re inexpensive and work great in the bottom of the tub or sink. Also, if you find that a poop stain doesn’t come out in the wash, just set it in the sun to dry. The sun naturally removes poop and spit up stains (if it’s not gone after it’s dry just re-wet the clothing and place in the sun again)
I use A&D ointment on my little lady's bum and neck folds. It works great as a protective barrier without residue build up. Also, careful with rising and lowering of your baby after the feed, in can result in gastric reflux unfortunately :(
Instead of desitin we use Vaseline her pediatrician recommended it because her diaper rash wasn't getting any better with the desitin. It really got so much better with the Vaseline and it's easy to clean off.
This video was awesome! I appreciate so much that you’re sharing this info with us as you go. I have a three-year-old and I’m expecting another baby, and these hacks are still so helpful for me!💖 Also, what do you do with your hair? Those curls are so perfect😍

Great video! But for bum cream, Desitin works awesome and doesn’t gum up. Also, you don’t remove bum cream. It acts as a barrier and will just wear off or come off when you’re cleaning them up after a poo. You will cause a worse rash trying to wipe it off every diaper change. You don’t need to wipe their bum every change if they just peed. Our son was in the NICU, and the nurses there told us this as well.
These were legit hacks! Thank you! Finally a video that was not full of obvious hacks. Just a thought: can you link any products mentioned in your description box? That would be super helpful!! Thanks!

1) why is she just not using a baby bathtub or the bathtub bloom for bathing her baby? Putting towels at the bottom of a tub seems really pointless 2) for the wipes why doesn’t she just use a wipe warmer or something that makes 1 wipe come out at a time and problem solved ?
Egyptian magic and bag balm are the best diaper rash creams, goes away in a few hours and you can use them for cuts scrapes, comes off easy and doesn’t smell!!! Amazing
i heard somewhere else also that you could wipe your baby’s stomach with the wipe to get them used to the temperature that way they’ll probably pee too
Also for burping if you'll position them on your leg and rest their chin in between your thumb and your pointer finger and rotate them and clockwise and counterclockwise motions it helps with burping too I learned that one being your first time momma
Serious question: is it necessary to have any standing water when giving baby a bath? Why can't you just get one washcloth sudsy, scrub up, then hose down baby with warm water? Quick and no waiting for tub to fill when little one has such a small surface area to clean. My shower has a hand sprayer attachment, but you could easily do the same thing with a strategically poured cup of water. I am 34 weeks and I was just planning to do washcloth wipe downs and then sink baths once baby is old enough to sit up unassisted.
You can totally do that but around 3 months the enjouy.the bath and kicking in the water is good for their leg musle developers so bath time is fun and functional.. but when in a time pinch ..your suggestion totally works fine

We just showered with our little guy, but the hand towels are a great idea! We hated the baby bath tub soooo much. We have it still but I'll be giving it away I feel
You can use natural products like coconut oil or cloth diaper safe creams. Generally you don't need creams when using cloth nappies. You can also use a fleece liner when using normal bum creams
and if you have this „yellows accidents“ in the cloths, abd they don‘t wash out, put it in the sunlight. it disapear! also, in a few month‘s, for carrots stains. (so, you can understand what i mean. i‘m from switzerland... 😉🙈😂) greetings from here👋🏻
Just discovered you , are you from Vancouver Island? I'm from Nova Scotia , But I lived in BC ...Spent some time in North Island and also Victoria ! Love it there 💕
If you want to forgo having a baby bath go and look for a midwife tutorial on how to bathe a baby. We are trained how to bathe in any area a sink usually. They will teach an easy one handed hold on the baby and then you use the other to wash baby. Simple no extras required. Also I can recommend baby liniment and plain old allepo or other Castille bar soap along with some jojoba oil for all baby washing and diapering needs. Low tech and old fashioned I suppose but they work.
Why don’t you take out the appropriate amount of wipes before starting the diaper change. I used to work at a daycare and we had to wear gloves. Once we wiped, the gloves were considered “contaminated” so for poop we would take out 2 to 3 and pee was normally 1. Worked every time
The pee cup thing what I learn from my experiments , what worked best was spray warm water on a big cotton ball I made and that stick to the baby until you clean the baby so we would not pee all over the place 😆 I reused the cotton ball if was still clean .
Using breast milk is a great way to take rashes away using a little bit of breast milk applying it on the rash and whatever is in breast milk takes away rashes and your not spending extra money

Also I can recommend baby liniment and plain old allepo or other Castille bar soap along with some jojoba oil for all baby washing and diapering needs. Low tech and old fashioned I suppose but they work.
I'm taking notes 😄 thanks!
Corn starch is the best for rashes! Both on the bottom and in the neck!
Yeah we use cornstarch for daily prevention!
Why don’t you take out the appropriate amount of wipes before starting the diaper change. I used to work at a daycare and we had to wear gloves. Once we wiped, the gloves were considered “contaminated” so for poop we would take out 2 to 3 and pee was normally 1. Worked every time
Because I never know how many I need. Especially if he starts pooping mid change hahahah
The pee cup thing what I learn from my experiments , what worked best was spray warm water on a big cotton ball I made and that stick to the baby until you clean the baby so we would not pee all over the place 😆 I reused the cotton ball if was still clean .
super useful video, thanks for sharing! 🥰🥰🥰

Using breast milk is a great way to take rashes away using a little bit of breast milk applying it on the rash and whatever is in breast milk takes away rashes and your not spending extra money
Wow that’s amazing
That’s soooo true my baby had acne for one day only, ever. I sprayed her down whenever I fed her 😂
New to your channel! I love your personality and all the information you are providing people with your own personal experiences. I am trying to get pregnant and overly excited about that I am already looking at baby hacks lol! Also, I really hate that people literally clicked on your video and responded hate comments.
Oh my goodness! He is just getting cuter and cuter every time I see him!!!!
Another tip! Sadly a lot of babies are actually alergic to singel use diapers... if parents notice that the baby has too many diaper rash you should try diferent diapers, or even cloth diapers ;)
Great advice 👍🏻
"On their sprinkler!" as my friend says lol

Some of these were really helpful, thank you! (:

I don’t think u remove diaper rash cream after u put it on. I think u just leave it and it comes off in time.
