    'When I am in confusion, how is it possible to see clearly?'
    This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
    The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
    We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
    Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

    Even if all the wealth of humanity sacrificed in a fire altar causes such a being to exist, it is a very cheap deal to have this invaluable gem of humanity.

    When you're confused, you become unsure of everything and easily paranoid. That's when you really can't know what to do because everything feels so unpredictable.
    It can be a build up of doing too much or too little, regardless you now have to do absolutely nothing. You can't act on the choices your mind gives because it's in the same state of confusion.
    He's right, you have to be alone and face the truth when it comes to you, and it will when you stop all actions and efforts
    engage in life with a positive reaction to invite opportunities of a clear tommorrow.

      Is it correct to think that, for example, giving yourself a day or two to not do anything or maybe even meditation to just sit there without any goal, just to focus attention on breath or something, is a good way? Or lets even dismiss the meditation and leave it to that- you wake up and not do anything, just walk around, lay on the bed or whatever.

    Perhaps, if you will, that once one truly learns to live in the moment, that in itself will be the act of doing nothing, nothing but whatever is going on in the moment... In essence NOT thinking of the past it future which is where fear and confusion is born.. your thought process is mostly past thoughts and imagination, the past is gone and you imagine what it used to be, the future hasn't happened yet so most conjure up the worst outcomes and possibilities of situations and fall to the distraction of them.. thus if you are able to remain in the moment, you're not as confused or scared of anything, even death, because you're completely focused on the moment.. ex: in class, learning a chapter, if you're in the moment, you're actually learning and not distracted by anything, fast forward to test, logic says you should be able to regurgitate the information you learned therefore, nothing to "worry" about because the test shouldn't "confuse" you.... I think lol I'm still trying to figure the stuff out myself honestly 👍👍🤗🤔

      Well said. To elaborate, it seems as if to be in the moment there can be no judgment. Judgment requires choice, choice is the fruit of confusion. Choice creates duality which is in itself conflict. "It is what it is."

    • @lateatlife999
      @lateatlife999 3 роки тому

      I guess what he simply meant was to focus on present and give your best so you might have better future cause past is no more and untouchable.

    Dictum for me is in enquiry about confused mind.
    Mind is not source of knowledge, but it manipulates knowledge to aid action.
    Calm mind going for truth is a natural selection.
    Manoratha on move and the chariot is to be chopped from action to halt first because of our predisposition.
    JK sir, is a good cutting edge for change and a lot of scientific research will go into future generations and mind sciences.

    Bet that works in the contexts to what he is referring; however, doubt you would pass your exams with it- in such cases maybe best to work with what you know to derive the unknown- like filling a crossword puzzle.

    • @qorilla
      @qorilla 9 років тому

      optizap Yeah, all these things are in some idealized world where the whole world is just for your own spiritual development.
      I'd say the opposite, if confused, do stuff to get kicked out of confusion. Go for a walk, talk to friends or random people, shuffle your cards. If you don't do anything, nothing changes obviously. Just sitting around will not tell you what to do. It may calm you down, but that's the age old technique of counting to 10 or giving it a night's sleep.

    • @markbrad123
      @markbrad123 9 років тому +2

      qorilla The thing is if your search for an answer in stress it may taught thinking and funnel the mind or create compulsion. Sometimes best just to let go for a while. Certainly consider not answering thinking with emotion by watching emotion so knowledge can freely flow be it incorrect or correct until it finds the best truthful answer from a referential level.

    • @qorilla
      @qorilla 9 років тому +1

      optizap There are different kinds of stress. There is productive excitement, flow kind of stress (adrenaline, faster heartbeat etc) and it can be great. These Eastern philosophies seem to suggest that only this calm, neutral, detached, "I don't care", "nothing matters" kind of mindset is productive.
      Now, obsessive, unproductive, panic-like thought patterns are bad, we agree here. But if you say "just stop it" is like saying to a fat man to "just don't eat that much and just go exercise". I don't think there is a fully general method.
      And instead of thinking too hard about how to think, one should realize the pointlessness of it. I can't make anyone realize it by words. One has to do what needs to be done. I like the zen point of view that says that these things don't have to be conceptualized. Just do the next thing. When hungry, eat. When eaten, go wash your bowl. Go chop wood. Take part in the dance. You're there already. Confusion arises when these things aren't clear. But it doesn't mean you have to be a cold cynical bastard.
      I'd also say that frustration should not be compulsively avoided. It can be a great source of knowing yourself. But you shouldn't induce it.
      And above all, don't treat any of this kind of advice or discussion as set in stone. These are all just text. It can't overwrite reality. It is the way it is.

    • @markbrad123
      @markbrad123 9 років тому

      qorilla Asking if what one is referring to still exists in silence can be useful in peeling off those meta layers into the actual. However, compulsions tends to be where a feeling gets hooked to an idea, and can be looped around being unable to find an emotional answer,unless you watch deeply and de-construct the emotion answering thought and thought answering emotion entanglement. Referential knowledge does not require emotion to find a near truth referencing, 5 + 5 = 10 is still 10 without embellishing with emotion. You can however also study emotion and thought from deep watching.

    • @qorilla

    • @AjayKumar-dv4pq
      @AjayKumar-dv4pq 3 роки тому +5

      What is meant is that (right) action follows clarity.
      For normal people this is evident only in extreme cases, like a truck heading directly towards you, or any such kind of perception of imminent danger. Then, there is instant action.
      K says the same thing is true of all circumstances, not just of imminent danger. (right) action ALWAYS follows clarity, or, in other words, clarity is itself action.

      the word "commitment" as K uses here is perhaps conveying that it's a form of psychological attachment and hence is a trace of conflict and confusion....and therefore in the last part he talks about clearing of mind from all its baggage because through the free mind only do something real can come out..
