Ram is currently dirt cheap and saving 50$ while building a pc is not gonna save my wallet;p When it will be needed, we might be facing ram shortage again and it could cost me 150$+ to add that 16gb and it might not be easy to get exactly the same ram kit that i will already own or i might have to sell what i have and get another kit.
@Vyrisus The Msi 3090 Trio has two MLCC instead of one on their 3080 variant though, just like the 3090 founders edition, so maybe it will be less prone to crashing. I just would avoid the MSI 3080 Trio for now.
I haven'r heard anyone talking about triple screen with these cards. Would the 3090 kill the 3080 running triple 55" tvs in 4K? 12288x2160 or 7680x1440?
@@TechTesters Thank you for the reply. I am running a 2080ti triple screen now, and it works good, but of course we always reach for those few more FPS right? lol. The results are in the graphs as well, and in this video I talk about it more: ua-cam.com/video/lIE-0pM3Kvg/v-deo.html The Gigabyte is really quiet too if you set it to quiet mode. Only a small difference.
I rarely splurge on purchases, but I’m seriously considering a 3090. I’ve ran into vram issues in VR at 8gb (crashes to desktop on ultra), so I could see poorly optimized games exceeding 10gb vram in the next couple years. I just don’t know if I should hold out hope for a 3080 super/ti. I do play at 1440p 144hz on my normal monitors, so it will be a waste there if I get a 3090. Also, good video! I enjoy your content.
I haven't really seen 8GB to be an issue so far. From experience, I'd expect you'll want to drop from Ultra to High for raw performance reasons before VRAM becomes an issue, but I guess in some titles that might be different. PErsonally though, I am not worried about it.
You will only have to worry about that for 4k games with high poly count models. Or high res packs for games. For instance ff15 4k with high res pack eats up 17gb + vram

@DJ_CodNub not sure what that is supposed to mean. i would say that simply splurging on the best in the market, especially when it is not needed for your own uses is not a good move no matter if you have more than enough funds to cover such an expense. a reason people are wealthy to begin with is because they spend their money wisely

If you're a creative (dig painter, 3D, etc), this makes for a great card price wise over a 24gb Quadro. I call it a cheap man's creative card. To explain further: No I'm not saying the card is affordable to everyone. This is a high performance gpu & you pay for it. However, if you bought this for 1k-1200 vs a 5K quadro... yeah, this is a solid card.

RTX 3090 is with 24GB DDR6 VRAM! If money is not the issue here I would get it over RTX 3080! You could say the Ultimate Gaming without even stressing out. From my experince and what I have gaming with and having and owning a awesome GPU. Not anymore when the RTX second Gen just came out! But everything really plays better with true to the top Highend! This is very nice from Nvidia!
Another fantastic review! Thank you! Looking at the 3090 for points you make about the additional memory availability for video rendering. Need a gaming card, as always, but the 3080 is more than adequate and a much better value for that aspect as you point out.

Nice rig, good place to start for sure. I would - consider upgrading the aio. Cooler masters are good value watercoolers, but they're a bit louder (and noise is often not as consistent) as asetek bases units (nzxt, some corsair, several others). Those cost more, but fit better with a high end pc. - see how much 3600mhz memory will cost you extra. If not too much, I'd do that. Vengeance LPX is good though. - I don't know that psu. Check if it is really a good one? I usually use Seasonic myself, followed by corsair, and the occasional be quiet and cooler master. Brands dont mean much though, make sure the exact model is good.
@@-scrim At the extreme it's always a lot more money for small boost in performance, like it was 2070-2080-2080ti, or with the i7-i9 processors, they don't really make a lot of sense from a price/performance prospective. With a plain 20% average I would have surely have given a thought about it, but at 10% it's out of question
I think they can stream data faster than ever, and they don't need larger memory pools; but still need to be paired with RAID-0'ed overkill SSDs and Enterprise HDDs, in order to not bottleneck these other high-end components: unlocked CPUs, Speedy RAMs, etc so you can see the benefits. If you don't have the budget, a larger pool might then be required. I'm gonna tell you what is obsolete, compared to this: Any 2GB-or-less GDDR5 graphics card. Whatever videogame you would like to throw them from now and on. P.s.: And, No. VRAM quantity it's not the problem. It's the VRM electrical phases. Some partners are "cheaping out" by not installing MLCCs. Check J's2cents video on that.
@03:33 - I think graphs are reversed only at first section, because makes look MSI model hotter, when it's not. So probably that's a "graph typo", isn't it ??????? 🧐
3090 is for the workstation dudes that just need a bit more VRAM and don't want to pay for a 3k-5k card. tho it seems that double 3080 is cheaper and better for applications that supports multi GPU.
The RTX3090 is not worth at all for the price. Only for people who can use it for workstations and gaming. RTX3080 is the sweet spot for gaming and also a bit of a workstation for me so i'm still waiting for my MSI RTX3080 Gaming X Trio. 8K gaming with 60fps on 3090 is not true at all. the only game it can handle is Doom Eternal, other games can't get 60fps unless lower quality. I hope they also fixed with the hardware issue. I also expect new drivers with better performance because they've put alot of cuda cores in there. RTX3080 has 2x more cores than 2080Ti and that's a huge jump.
Good job... but I would appreciate if you put the Horizon Zero Dawn and the new Call Of Duty in your tests.. thankyou very much and greetings from Tenerife with 28º right now :-)
Warzone is part of the 1080p / Competitive testing. I guess Cold War might be too, depends on how the game is. Horizon, I'll think about it actually, I want to finish the game first before moving it to the test rig ;)
Thank God, you are one of the rare ones who cleared up the confusion regarding whether the MSI RTX 3090 has a proper Metal backplate or a plasticky graphene one. So, it is actually, a proper, good-old, sturdy Metal backplate right?
Definitely metal, no compound trickery. I don't actually mind the RTX 3080 one though, not like most people will ever see it from that close. But this one is objectively better.

Can't wait to see the tuf version.... i think???
RTX 3090 is with 24GB DDR6 VRAM! If money is not the issue here I would get it over RTX 3080! You could say the Ultimate Gaming without even stressing out. From my experince and what I have gaming with and having and owning a awesome GPU. Not anymore when the RTX second Gen just came out! But everything really plays better with true to the top Highend! This is very nice from Nvidia!
Very informative Video:)🙏
Thanks!
Another fantastic review! Thank you! Looking at the 3090 for points you make about the additional memory availability for video rendering. Need a gaming card, as always, but the 3080 is more than adequate and a much better value for that aspect as you point out.
This is nothing but a beast literally a beast I can judge it by seeing this beautiful video ...... Lovely and best review ever of MSI RTX 3090 Love you Techtesters :)
Will you review the Asus ROG Strix 3080 ?
I have no Eta on that card yet 😢
@@TechTesters Looking forward to it though!
1:03 - if only you knew the madness about to come, you'd buy a couple of them in an instant. 🤪
Please do a 3090 OC test..... i been hearing things.
Its one of many things I still want to do ;)
That card looks bigger then your arm!! What does it weigh?
About a kilo and a half? Not too bad :P
Techtesters I had to look that up in pounds lol. That’s not to bad though.
This is the most powerful gpu ever build
Hi ☺
This is goin to be my first desktop pc built
I'm not a gamer
I need this setup for
3D, Animation, Video Editing & Game dev
Please let me know if this is good or I need to change anything from the equipments mentioned below
CPU: Ryzen 9 3950x
Motherboard: Gigabyte x570 Aorus Pro WiFi ATX
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 FE
Cooler: Coolmaster ML360R 360mm AIO
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 32Gb 3200 MHz
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo+ 2Tb M.2 NVMe
SMPS: ANTEC EA750G Gold 80+
Case: Cool Master MB511 Mid Tower
OS: Win10 Pro OEM
Thanku 👍
Nice rig, good place to start for sure. I would
- consider upgrading the aio.
Thanks for the info
Will look into it n check for the availability of the equipments in my area
Thanks.
I was expcting something like 20% performance boost over the 3080 honestly, 10% makes the extra investment not really worth it in my opinion
20% is a best case scenario. Hopefully we'll see more "best case" games soon.
Even 20% is a disappointment considering the price point. It's definitely not a card for gamers.
The problem is positioning. It should be positioned as a productivity card, with some gaming chops.
@@-scrim At the extreme it's always a lot more money for small boost in performance, like it was 2070-2080-2080ti, or with the i7-i9 processors, they don't really make a lot of sense from a price/performance prospective. With a plain 20% average I would have surely have given a thought about it, but at 10% it's out of question
.......
I just got rick rolled and I think you know why.
Beats seeing a "sold out" page I hope!
as long as I get 60fps using ultra setting in 4K I'm happy
Please compare with Asus rog strix RTX 3090
Hoping to get my hands on one :(
😅
not really feeling the visible wire guts
also if you want to obs in 4k
RTX 3080 problem is vram , 10 GB has no future.
Why do you think that? :)
Check J's2cents video on that.
keep up the good work.
Triple 8 pin connectors, that gonna be challange to cable management 😅
@03:33 - I think graphs are reversed only at first section, because makes look MSI model hotter, when it's not. So probably that's a "graph typo", isn't it ??????? 🧐
No the graphs are sorted by the 40dB noise normalized result?
3090 is for the workstation dudes that just need a bit more VRAM and don't want to pay for a 3k-5k card.
tho it seems that double 3080 is cheaper and better for applications that supports multi GPU.
Yup! And for people with a lot of money for gaming :P
Snagged this card for $800, gentle giant.
Sounds like a good deal imho!
@@TechTesters Can i expect a comparison between AW3423DW an Samsungs new G8? Im interested to see what the differences are if any.
And then they're gonna release a Titan RTX which will destroy RTX 3090 in terms of work productivity.
make sure you watch jays 2cents before buying anything
Good job... but I would appreciate if you put the Horizon Zero Dawn and the new Call Of Duty in your tests.. thankyou very much
and greetings from Tenerife with 28º right now :-)
Warzone is part of the 1080p / Competitive testing. I guess Cold War might be too, depends on how the game is. Horizon, I'll think about it actually, I want to finish the game first before moving it to the test rig ;)
A pretty Lady who loves Hardware and has a super sexy CoolerMaster C700M in the Background? OK now i'm impressed
Who doesn't love hardware and a Cosmos C700M Build!? 😁
8:01 Here's my easy answer, Sweetie: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020! At MAXIMUM visual settings!!!
Imagine in 2x 3090 and threadripper 3990x
Give :D
3080 is butter for the price than 3090.
Looks great, where can I buy one?..... Oh right!
8k support graphic gard for gamer
Wow I'm actually pissed off on you Rick-Roll. Not cool
great review Nada, not worth the money though!
Thanks! And yeah, for most people definitely!
Rick-Rolled....!!!
:D
Its a beast 🔥🔥🔥
For sure!
out of my price range :0
