    The level of expertise this guys has is phenomenal. There are tons of UA-camrs generally just short expert. If any component is short they would just fix it. If problem is other than short the gpu is plain dead for them. But this guy has taught me a lot about other problems. His success rate is high. I am sure he would grow a highly rated channel with time.

    I agree about the MSI 3090Ti PCB, great design. I passed up everything else for a Gaming Trio because the board is just so nice and practical. Even with 560W PL via shunt stack, those MPS 70A Power Stages are barely outside their peak efficiency zone!

    I can't agree more. MSI and EVGA has the best gpu build/components, even tech cemetry says it. Having multiple fuses is really a plus!

    • @FFE-js2zp
      @FFE-js2zp 2 роки тому +2

      It’s impossible to have worse build quality than NVIDIA. 100% of cards are defective out of the box. None can mine full speed without overheating, and fixing the defective cooling is trivially easy. So it’s intentional cost cutting quality failures and planned obsolescence.

    • @Multimeter1
      @Multimeter1 2 роки тому

      The FE cards are built well actually, it’s just bad thermal pads

    • @FFE-js2zp
      @FFE-js2zp 2 роки тому +2

      @@Multimeter1
      There are some pretty clear quality control issues, too. When you crypto mine with FE cards, bcs they are FHR, you find that every card you fix is a lot different both in performance and subtle physical attributes. I have three different shim fixes I use, and it’s impossible to guess which will work best because the pad depth needed is different every time. There is a way to accommodate any card with a hybrid pad/shim, but it will only reduce temps by 25-30C instead of a best case 40-45C. You also see A LOT of sloppy soldering, which might be the cause of the huge range of performance outcomes among cards operating at the same temperature set.

    Thank you Kris for telling us which cards are better. What could be better than a person who fixes 20 cards a day and he tells you what he likes about a card. Usually it is something the owner does which botches a card. But on some something is faulty with the card before they even get the card.

    I wish you put the 3 pin removal process in the video as I believe its a very hard and delicate work to be done, I had a blown fuse in some amd card and interestingly nothing was wrong and no issue on thermal camera upon injecting current. Card brought back to life by changing that fuse but I still cant figure out why cause the issue, maybe some high load on mining? God knows.

    Just a (somewhat late) input: absolutely every 3090Ti from every manufacturer (Palit/gainward, asus, msi, giga, evga, zotac, etc) uses the same 16-phase power controller and same 70A power stages from MPS. The only difference may be in the number of the power stages. This is the only occasion that I remember in 10+ years that it does not really matter who made the card, the powering system components are identical across all of the models. Good news for second-hand buyers, I guess - you can literally buy any 3090Ti by its looks and be sure that powering is adequate.
    NVidia was testing their power delivery system for the upcoming 4090 chip + they made users familiar with the new 12VHP connector, so they mandated powering system as well. Even on 4090 nowadays we can encounter powering that is WORSE compared to 3090Ti - e.g. palit, gigayte eagle.

Card does have all other voltages present so perhaps I might get lucky and one ram ic is pulling down the line. I've fixed many graphics cards already and your videos have helped me so much but am new to 3000 series cards. Thank you so much for all your videos. You are definitely most professional I have seen. Funny about the no warranty.
    That is illegal. Literally, they cannot claim any warranty voidance if the card was opened. It was a long time ago, but laws have changed.
    Now, companies, will still try and abuse ignorant customers and bullshitting them about this, but people should wake up.
    In the case of EU customers, there are law protection agencies at work. in the case of US customers there are file a lawsuit.
    The voidance of the warranty can be done on a defect and not if the product was opened.
    They must see what doesn't work and if it doesn't work what is the cause, and the weight falls on the manufacturer to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the user interference caused the defect.
    A mechanical action that did the damage. Not just by opening up.
