I loved the twist at the end. All the while it was an allegory of a kind of toxic relationship. We only see the demons, the results of the abuse, but never the acts until the talk show. Until then it seems like the mom is the good guy, then the mask comes off. I think the term is Munchausen syndrome by proxy, projecting all these horrible conditions onto someone else, getting them medicated and making them dependent on you, all so that the perpetrator can be praised for caring for their victim.

Great catch! Who knows how long this relationship will take to heal. It's exactly like the movie about the story of the song; "I Can Only Imagine". A true story. But this was captivating phenomenal work.
Munchausen syndrome by proxy isn't a real a real illess
Fascinating that she only realized it was her mother when she was grown. Dad ran off but it’s never explained why...heavily Christian, she actually prayed for her daughter and fought off what she could. But when the talk show part came, all i could think was “oh no” bc forcing a child to relive their trauma for fame is gross
at first i thought that part was her trying to see if on a stage or in front of a camera the ghosts would try anything, if they didn't, that could be a way to try to relieve the haunting, if they did, then she could prove it, which would help her daughter's social situation.
but yeah, thinking back, it's kinda obvious that the mother is evil
Her mother was doing this for just come to stage to become famous.
Well prayers can only do so much, it seems.

Damn that was great. Honestly the plot twist got me hook, line, and sinker. I knew something was off when the lyrics said “She didn’t mind ripping my wounds open wide.”

Love It there Is so much dark, sadness and anger in this story that reminds me of certain people in my Life that i don't wanna see never again and my Life most of the time. And this fits very well because the girl emotion of not being comprended and being used are something that hurts in the Deep of your Heart and those are tipe of wounds that cannot be healed and they'll never be.
For once I’m actually happy for UA-cam recommendations. This is a masterpiece

I love how from the very beginning the music was "in a harmonious tone", combine with the introduction and how the animation look, making me think this is going to be a melancholy as well as "sad-like-feeling" music video before it slowly tune up to rock music, changing my entire view on what's this music video was going to be.
Still a great story though, also love the animation. Great to see more of your work in the future.

I watched this because I loved other Zealous Creative stuff, and I'm mixed on this.
It's probably just my personal taste to not really like this sort of story telling, but it felt like the story/pictures and the tempo were too random for me to get into.
I know there is a story, the art is cool, AMAZING singing, and the story is kind of interesting.
To keep it short, I felt like it would've been a better story (to me at least) if it kept its original theme/story it had going for the first minute or so. It would've been interesting to see how they affect her life, and it did that for a while. It also added the extra layer of her mom taking advantage of her ability for fame, which was interesting, but then it cuts randomly to her being grown up. Then we learn it was her mom causing the ghosts all along, and the comments suggest it wasn't even ghosts, but just an abusive relationship with her mom. There are always certain parts that seem random or as if they don't fit in, such as 2:20 - 3:15 , the pictures either don't align with the lyrics or don't feel as if they fit. I also felt as if the school section/"they keep on calling me ghost girl" part could've been excluded. It is a part of her life, although it's kind of a cliche of "the kid that's different is bullied" and didn't add too much to the story for me.
But either way there are plot holes and questions. If it was just abuse and no ghosts, well, you can't deny she did see ghosts in this. If it was both, why did her mother protect her and try to go see doctors for help? If she set it up, it doesn't make sense to see doctors if she knew the cause, and why would she pray? If it's only ghosts, well the last part just makes no sense unless her mom is an actual demon (but demons can't pray, I think).
Overall a good film, just didn't really connect with it.

I was like oh after the divorce only bad ghosts/demons appeared so she blamed the mom for that then I scroll down the comments I see OH IT WAS A TOXIC REALTIONSHIP,OH THE MOTHER WAS COMMITING CHILD ABUSE, me oh
According to the hearts, I do think we were supposed to take out of the song and images as an allegory of child abuse...but it seems just too contrived.
The girl will cry for her mother to stay with her, her mother would be helpful and it was until they became famous when the mother started to become abusive and exploit the child.
Also, there were a lot of ghosts even when she was away from her mother, but the girl was less hostile. I don't know, the plot twist seemed cheap to me.

the mother was taking her strangeness for fame, but i don’t see why the ghosts appeared before, the mother was very kind and helping
I actually immediately thought the dark ghosts were a childs interpretation of physical abuse. As in the Mother was physically abusive all along, first to the Dad, but when he left she turned on her daughter. Unable to to mentally handle this the childs mind came up with evil ghosts doing this to her. The mother took her story and ran with it for money. When the daughter left to live on her own, she healed and slowly began to realize the ghosts weren't harming her. It was her mother all along. Whether the child ever saw ghosts could be interpreted either way. Either she had the ability to see, and her mind took the passive, yet possibly scary ghosts and used it as a way to cope. Or she never could see ghosts and it was the mental break from the start. We don't know how long the father dealt with abuse.

She could of been praying for a way to make more money, dealing with a child alone, or how everything seems to be giving her problems since her husband left. As well if talking about holding a crucifix up, that could of been the childs imagination, thinking her Mom is trying to help her. When in truth it was all lies. A feigned attempt to show she cared when she obviously didnt. After all the child came to the realization it was her mother all along.
