Keeping the line was my biggest issue as a novice. It finally clicked when I saw the space between myself and the defender as neutral territory awaiting conquest and whoever claimed it first had the balance advantage. That and learning the nuances of block/charge down to a science
i known coach tim martin since i was in 5th grade. back then, he was just sfrating out in his career. it is amazing to see him thriving as a world class basketball trainer. An amazing man and coach. Much love coach tim
I never noticed but since I watched this video seriously I got a lot of confidence and im not afraid anymore to attack the rim all you need is to be good at shooting and bait your defence of course your driving skills you need to, I just want to say that thank you coach 😊ill try my best to be the best b ball player thank you for your lessons and inspiration ❤️❤️❤️
Bro just create your own schedule.. improve your weakness is the first priority... make priorities and make smart decisions that will increase your game
also pls make a video on dealing with the help D waiting on the paint. Most of the time it's what stifles smaller guards. Alot of guys are great at 1v1 but can't play that well 5v5 cos they not used to all the help defense
It's a team game. When this happens it means ur team mates should be free - if the coaching has taught them how to move to the open spot. Than you can assist ur team mate. Teams that do this well perform best. Beat the defender, draw the D, move the ball and get an open shot or lay up.
Hi coach, Do you have a verticle jump increase program? If so pls reply with the link. Also I have learnt many new moves on which I can add in my play. thankyou, CM.
so the crossover is actually just a counter, not a predetermined move. when you watch highlights you think like guys like AI predetermine their moves like a game where they just spam the crossover button lol, but in reality it's all a reaction to what the defender does
not making shooting. that’s key. that way you can track your progress better plus it doesn’t make you feel bad if it takes a long time. I’d recommend shooting about 400-500 shots a day. That means like drills, not just shooting around. also i’m about to turn 15, and this helps me a ton
400, and once you start getting better and better, you add more makes per day. These makes have to be shots that you would take in an actual game... like stepbacks, off-dribble, pull-up in transition, catch and shoot, sprint layups, and fadeaways. In a game no defender is going to let you jack up a slow-ass shot, you have to work.
Ight so I like to dunk. Slow to fast, boom and exploding to the rim. I like to take contact and dunk. I always get called with a charge. Is it because of the dunk? I slide past their chest and take a bit of contact, I'm called for a charge?
I wish I can just come here I'm like 13 and like 5 4 and got a wingspan of 5 6 and I really want to come here but you know my parents cant bring me and I wanna reveal what my best version of me is I really wish I could make it here well I really hope I do
Your so shifty coach. I'm a good perimeter defender that can keep my body in between the offensive player and the basket. But your hesi is on the next level. My secret on defending great slashers are keeping my eyes on their hips. Even if I don't have the bounce to block their shots I can slow them down so that the help defense can block the shot.
I disagree with leaning into him because he might just give you to space when he feels you leaning and that leaves you off-balance for the shot. A controlled veer and then fade would be better

I keep getting roasted for being a not so good guard defensively, and this really helped!!!!

Kind of mind blowing for me to be honest

There isn't a set amount, but you can't go wrong starting at 500 :)

Yes that's a charge
Just take a little bit of contact? I mean they sorta bump me as much as I do them. I just sorta cruise on by em and refs are like charge
I think I get better watching this😂
Why did they have technoblades’s voice in the end 😂
