Beat him with the first dribble, get into him with the second dribble....PRICELESS!!!
Best Tip...!!!
I'm 39 years old and started playing again for the first time in 20+ years and learning so much from Coach Drew. I wish all this information was available this easily back in my day. You young pups should really be taking advantage if this!
I definitely am, I just turned 16 and I’m grinding day in and day out for a scholarship
Hey man, I'm 25 about to turn 26 and I'm doing the same thing. Crazy how much info is out there now. I'm watching some vids and learning so much. I hope your basketball journey never stops. Thank you for the inspiration. Let's me know I'm not the only rediscovering the love of basketball
“It’s the execution that’s important, the drill doesn’t really matter”
Wow
thinking about it, that’s so true
Thanks for the advice Kevin the professional trainer looking forwards for some vids
Where is egt live day 4?
This brother is the truth "They're used to us just playing with our feet, now when we use the ball they really move"
really appreciate your live series. Thank you so much
Ka Lik Siu you’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed them.

@@DeepGameBasketball Hello, could you explain why the first move(@) is not a travel?
@@user-kf6qz6dx6o which move? timestamp it
@@user-kf6qz6dx6o it is a travel but refs don’t really call it all that much in the U.S. Overseas they’re going to call that all day.
You do a good job instructing kids too. I remember seeing Steve Nash and Manu always doing the load/plyo step. Now kids get all the gems dropped on them.
40 years old and I'm learning stuff to smoke guys next run lol
Love it, Luke. Let us know how many sets of ankles you take.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Lmao...Luke I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. 50yrs young & now I'm bout to go to work on these youngins at my 35 & up league. They won't be ready for this smoke. Thanks EGTBBALL!
If you are 50 and haven’t learned a Rocker step you lost bruh
Go play some pick-up games @ senior center, you will be the King.
@@DeepGameBasketball Hello, could anyboby explain me why first move(@) is not a travel?
Im glad that this video is just about the fundementals, no crazy drills that dont translate to playing basketball.Triple threat is the only way a ball player gets open against good ball players. He has logic to what he is teaching, which most trainers don't have.
Good explanation. Thank you for this video.
Straight Up Coach
🙌💯🤝
Wow, wow WOW. Awesome stuff here. Thank you for the posts.
Awesome coaching!
Hands down the best coaching stuff on utube
I did workout 1 of elite scoring and afterwards I was burnt toast, but I know it will help me a lot thanks EGT!
Excellent as usual
I learned the load step, thanks coach drew
Thanks Joe 🏀✌🏼
I like the move you teach Coach!!! The Best...
Most understandable coach/trainer🖤💯
Thank you for sharing
can we see basic blow by or space creating dribble moves
Your are a Great coach 👍 You are also help for me Thanks You 😊
Love and trust Drew. I absorb his knowledge and share it everyday with my sessions. Appreciate this channel! I'd love to come check this out live
The reason why Kawhi Leonard is so good at stealing ball is he always watch this kind of tutorials 😂😂
Hey coach, i saw this on your IG stories!😻💕
Man this is a great drill!! Basketball camp on the internet feels just like I'm there no Cap!!
Great stuff
The live series is awesome. Where did day 4 go?
straight gems kids are lucky with UA-cam
Strong three point stance!!
The first minute alone on footwork is such valuable knowledge I wish I had access to in my younger years
Its all Travel in Germany at least... Glad i did Not see this back when i was young
If that’s true then Michael Jordan would have been considered worst player of all time in Germany
These are fundamets that create every play in the game. And yes, the coach did switch the pivot and that's a travel, but every single kid are traveling in euro standards because they making a first step with a pivot leg without bouncing the ball first. But in the NBA that's not the rule.
1:12 - Student is looking at his coach, saying "What's up Punk!!!!"
The coach changes his pivot foot when he goes right from the left side. He pivots on his left foot when he is "jab-stepping" but then steps across the defender with his left foot first.
Drew hanlen je suite heureux de suivre tes mouvs thanks you drew
Love the content. But I really need an alternative to the sweep. I'm in Europe :P Is the spanish start the only answer?
Yes 👍
this helps me a lot, thx!
You are very welcome. And thank you for being a part of the #EGTFAMILY

Good Stuff
Great
Between a bunch of coach on youtube, This is only one in very few coach that known to teach real skill.
I bought into EGT mainly because of this video. I cannot find the Jab series to go with it which Coach Drew mentions. The support email isn't responding to My query and follow up.
I think you guys make good content and this one specifically is skill used in tryout in elite junior level in Australia. Please help me with locate the complete series.
That 1st rip through move at 13 secs is a travel because he switched pivots. However he's still a great trainer.
A lot of travels
I disagree because he starts his dribble before lifting his pivot foot
Exactly, fiba refs Will always blow the whistle on that. College and NBA not so much i feel
Yes, it's travel and many players in the video do the same move. In Europe this is always travel!
@@jakemclaughlin7277 he starts the dribling lifting the pivot foot
Thank you coach! that was very effective. Could you told us another secret for basketball? love it
Charlez Obenieta 0
do you have a preference for pivot foot?
Very first move was a travel by picking up the pivot foot . I understand what he's trying to say though. Hope everyone else does without the travel
That’s what I saw also. You need to create a half dribble before the foot comes up. Meaning one low quick set up dribble into the move. He’s teaching nba moves. That’s good in the league
He was doing it slowmo on purpose
Every pro do as he teach, he just act slow for beginner.
What’s the link to this I need to put this video in the comment section of an Instagram post
4:05 what a shot
Coach- So it’s not a travel until that foot hits the ground? You’re allowed to jab with right, crossover with left foot as long as you dribble before that foot lands?
Fck....coach i just realized now that u have taught me so many things And i might cry for this...thank u so much coach...and im sorry if my english is bad...
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET ACCESS TO THE VIDEOS YOUR GOING TO MAKE PRIVATE EVENTUALLY
Wonder if coach drew says “Boom” during pick up games
but if u dont expose the ball how do u sell the drive on ur jab?
Why is there no day 4?
nice traveling at the begining
wow
0:18 - traveled - lift up his pivot foot before bouncing the ball
On the catch why make them establish a left foot pivot shouldn’t they be attempting to keep the defender off balance using different footwork
"Lot's of reps" is a bad idea at the beginning. Do few, good quality reps. These kids were going way too fast and not implementing what you just took the time to show them. Walk them through how to do the move a couple times, and once they have the motor skills down, they'll be able to build off of them
I think he may be doing it with heavy reps simply because he’s got a lot of kids to train these moves to and if they’re all doing it quick he can catch what they’re doing wrong and what they may or may not be rushing to get “lots of reps” in. Makes it a lot easier to catch the mistakes
Great stuff coach! But one question. Isn't that travel? When you attack middle? Because your lifting your pivot foot before the ball bounces the floor, right?
Pedro Ferreira not a travel because your in the motion of dribbling at the same time as you dribble the ball
@@hhahahhahaaic2086 I understand that is the way it suppose to be, but I saw the pivot moving first and then the ball hits the floor. In Europe refs call travel for sure.
No, it's only a travel when the foot is lifted before the ball leaves the hand, not before the ball hits the ground.
Before leaving hand is travel, not before hitting floor.
I agree, it is a travel every single time. The ball is still in the hand and the coach is lifting the pivot foot.
But what if the defender is keeping the distance between me
🤯
Nice
Appreciate the compliment. #EGTFAMILY

Beat boxing Boi yes very important to count the males, no girls tho
@@donperriogne7878 yeah that’s what I was going to say
👍
Definitely a travel the first one, but you’re still a great coach 💪🏽
How??
Süper
wooooow
0:15 NOPE - its carrying because he already moved his right foot so he needs to dribble the ball to move the other foot
01:53 - same mistake, carrying
03:10 - same
Hello, could anyboby explain me why first move(0:19) is not a travel?
You can lift your pivot from triple threat or to pass or shoot as long as the ball leaves your hand before the pivot touches the floor again.
4:43
7:11
can you lift the pivot foot? 0:15 - 0:20. I thought you could only lift it to pass or throw, but not to progress. Can anyone explain to me? Thanks
you're right, he's traveling in the example. ideally when u do the move fullspeed you put the ball down faster, and the lifting of the pivot foot comes closer to the point in time at which you release the ball from your hand. Some older-school refs like calling this a travel and will be anal about it to the point where you can't even do this move. Other reffs will give the player the benefit of the doubt. In practice usually this move is *technically* a travel, but it's close enough to not being a travel that it's actually an effective move.
@@drew284 thank you!
2:27
Im getting cookies all day!
Is this replacing the idea that moving the ball with the jab will sell that u r driving and shift the player? I know ball protection is very important but a great defender might c that u not fully selling the drive and know that u r waiting for him to shift
he told that one kid not to jab. He didn't want them showing the ball. They needed to be able to get by the defender without the jab, so that when they did jab and show the ball, it was even more effective.
@@darrylking8577 yea makes sense thanks for clarifying
First move switches the pivot foot. Isn't that travel?
In Europe travel any times
those kids wearing hardens are doing step backs lmao
whenever i wear my hardens i do steapbacks too lmao

Tos - I am sorry could you please translate. #EGTFAMILY
6:40, if he is moving his right foot and has his left foot is down and he lifts his left foot isn’t that a travel?
i was looking for that comment, lol. well i guess its in america and not in europe
Paul Dominique Schal , thanks for the comment
It still touching the floor so no it’s not a travel.
@@christianjosephrellesiva5962 Oh ok I understand 👍🏼
Is'nt this travelling?
Pivot foot moves before first dribble?
No hate. Just looking for the explanation. The first move, is that a travel? The pivot foot lifts for the explosive part of the move before the ball is released... if the explanation is that it's just too quick to see full speed or that it's just too smooth then I feel it, but just looking to learn.
Fr!
I am wondering this too
only a travel if he pounds the ball after the pivot foot hits the ground again
@@easymoneysniper697 really man? I'm based in Europe so maybe it's different (assuming this is a USA rule book thing) I'm gonna do some research on it, thanks for the response bro
Daniel Girvan I’m in Asia bro and they call it from time to time but you can get away with it. also it’s a FIBA rule so it’s official but people have different perspectives on it.
I keep using this move and they call it travel. How to explain to them coach when its a travel or not?
Dribble first before you drive that’s what hard about this move you have to act real quick
Guy on the bleachers hasn’t got his physical yet
I’m about to wash me somebody pause with that move ASAP
Get double team on purpose while using those moves and pass it out to the open man
Camera man laughing at 3:56.
Stefhanie Fulton no
It looks like he's Traveling during the reach jab and load step blow bys
I’m japanese.
I could not understand details.
But I understand that the position of the ball is important.
Yes the position of the ball is very important as well as the footwork. Thank you for being a part of the #EGTFAMILY from Japan.

It easy.triple treat iwell do it
They do a camp for girls too if is it just for boys bc I want to go to this😆
it looks like travel each time he does the jab step, am i right? if not can someone tell me why isn't a travel?
11:04 There is no way to pass that if the defender stood even further...
Triple threats it's ok on man to man but on a 2-3 zone its always going to be a man rotating incase a man get boy.
Todas las salidas son pasos . Para q enseñar algo que desde lo técnico está mal
you can not change your pivot foot when you jab step then as you rip thru the ball needs to bouncing before you lift your pivot foot. otherwise its a travel.
Wym cut him off to the rim
Thats not a travel? Lifting your pivot before the ball hit the ground?
at 18 seconds..how is that not a travel..if he was est left foot as pivot..and using right food as jab....then moves his left pivot to step over then dribble..is that a travel???????
0:20.. That's a travel..
Andrea Puttilli no its not
Of course it is.. You change the pivot foot. If referees don't call it, that's another story
Andrea is right, he established his left foot as his pivot foot then moved it before putting ball on the floor
@@MarcIsHim yes, yes it is. He obviously just got crossed up in explaining.
