Rest in Peace Glenn Frey - the Eagles are an amazing band and so is the Little River Band. This is when music was music...glad I grew up in an ear where you could enjoy music unlike today.
Believe me, you can still enjoy music today every bit as much as you did back then. Perhaps even more so in a way, as the classic music of this era is so much more accessible. It's all about what music you choose to listen to. For me, nobody compares to the Eagles. LRB are the Aussie equivalent and another favorite.
It is a night I will remember. I was the announcer who introduced the Little River Band to the Expo stage that night. After the introduction I made my way back to the FM 104 concert studio overlooking the riverside stage. We got to enjoy many great local and overseas acts from the best seats in the house.
Yes, it was a great time in Brisbane and the city became more worldly. I recall that night fondly and also just sitting there in the daytime and seeing artists such as James Taylor rehearsing. I got engaged at the Polynesian village at Expo.
This Brissie boy was also there that evening. Had a fight with my fiance because she wanted to leave the concert early to avoid the rush. I was not, under any circumstance, missing a moment of this performance. I loved the way Shorrock touched Glenn on the shoulder as they sang " we may never be here again". So true ...
That's the music I want to hear, not the modern crap of today that you forget after a week. When I hear this, I get goose bumps. It's so beautifully harmonious.
+Melissa Bain I envy you Melissa. I'm nowhere near over Glen's death. Even writing those words cuts me deep. At 71, I felt like he was my kid brother. I've been in music for 41 years myself and I'm from Chicago, a fellow mid western musician. He left a great legacy, one that his children can take pride in. BTW, are you the Melissa who was involved in an Eagles website?
Rip Glenn, a generation of music that will last for many generations but only one will have the countless memories associate with growing up with the Eagles & Glenn Frey. No words for those precious memories and first kisses. Its actually emotional for me, simple, magical and carefree times. The world has lost this music and simplicity. Pray for our world and our kids....
Very well said. No subsequent generation will ever feel that feeling from back then. Unfortunately, that time is over, but I was part of it and that makes me happy. And the Eagles and LRB simply go together.
From the very start really love Glenn Frey... rest in peace, youre the eyes of the EAGLE band... you wil never ever be forgotten. Thank you for your music
I was 18 yrs old when I first saw him, I didnt know what to do during that time. I was really happy but felt sad when the concert became ended. May you rest in Peace my love my idol Glen Lewis Frey!!!
can we all agree The Eagles were one of the best rock bands ever!! this song will always be my fav! and i was born in 88. first time i saw hell freezes over tour i fell in love with the eagles!!
RIP Glen! So glad to watch you live during your "after hours tour" in Brisbane and with Eagles in Brisbane and Sydney 2014 and 2015 and those memories will last forever.. Thanks you for the great music Glen and Eagles!
Another legend leaves us, god bless you Glen. Thanks for the music the opportunity to do karaoke and the great music you left behind. Time to join the great gig in the sky x
allymayful I shed a few tears. Have listened over and over. He LOVED what did and we sure Loved watching him do it. Loved the Dead Mans Curve Tour!,,,,! 5 Th row. GOD BLESS You GLEN keep singing till we all get there to see you again.
The musician the poet the storyteller the comedian and the all around easy going great guy that most of us appreciated and loved is gone. An american institution is layed to rest . Just listen to his music and you can feel the emotion in his lyrics.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you Mr. Goble and your fellow LRB bandmates for the years of wonderful music you have given the world, your band has always been an inspiration to my brothers and I, it was bands like yours and the eagles which set the example for heavenly vocals, thank you again and may 2018 bring more of your music to the world
I recorded this on my HI-FI VCR when it first went to air back then. It was on TV straight after Hey Hey it’s Saturday. Still have the Video tape and also transferred it to a personal DVD. I called Network 10 back in 2004 to obtain a commercial hi res copy of it. But it was produced and recorded by a third party company. So my enquirers found a dead end. Great concert excellent band. Feels like yesterday it was live on TV. The band toured Australia with Glen Fry after Expo 88 and i managed to see them twice. The song line up was exactly like the expo 88 concert, so you knew what song was next. Got to meet Glen Shorrock at the bar later for a couple of drinks and a autographed Monsoon Album. Still have all the records in mint condition and lots of rare releases. Including ones when beeb and goble went solo and shorrocks solo career ones to. Cheers and thanks for the high res version.
When I sing this music i try hard ti make it exactly the same as possible . people gather to listen , they like it as well . don't change anything , you got a winner .
Wow didn't know Glen jammed with LRB, I remember an interview of him complimenting LRB as The greatest harmony band in the world. Both bands could have a world tour together would have been awesome.
I was at this gig. There was a floating stage moored to the river bank in the river .We just sat down on the grass to have a bite to eat and these guys came out unannounced. No one knew they were going to appear. Frey said he thought LRB were the best vocal band in the world except for one ha ha.
I loved the eagles in the seventies I love them for all eternity and I love Glenn frey God is now enjoying a priceless talent rip Glenn may god take you to eternal peace
Was soll man dazu sagen? Gesanglich Groß, einfach groß. LRB & CF. Leider ist das Vergangenheit und wird es so nie mehr geben. Es bleibt ewig in der Erinnerung. Nur die Filmaufnahmen - Fünf-Minus.
Bill Brimmer gonna miss him and the groups like Eagles . Love Steve Perry and Journey, Little River Band (Night Owl), The Association, etc.etc.etc. Love the music of Our Era. I cry each time one them passes. When it's my turn to go, I so hope we will be able to Take It Easy and enjoy all our favorite songs from all the groups from such a great era in time. I'm blessed to have lived in the 60's as a teenager. I was taught as a little girl, there is a choir of angels in Heaven. I certainly would be over the moon if they new the standards from the 40's&50's and of course the songs from the greatest time in history the 60's and 70's. Sting and Paul McCartney forever ROCK &ROLL Rules! I mean no disrespect to my Lord in Heaven. I can't imagine a world without this music. They could sing and play anything with anyone. Surely the choir in heaven are fans. If not we will have to work on that one! Done. The Soap box is empty....Saundra CAVENDER (Dalgleish)
Bill Brimmer sorry don't know how to change my name. It's Cavender. On line. Don't want to say anything that would tarnish my husbands good name. May he RIP.
It figures that the LRB's vocals would harmonize well with GF's voice. I saw Glenn not too long before this in Dallas at the EDS campus (if I remember correctly), maybe '85 or 86, and was disappointed when he said "you all sit back and relax for the next 45 minutes while we play", and I was like WTF? 45 minutes? BUT it was a top shelf concert, and the short duration was probably because he was fairly new into his solo career (but he already had some great songs), and I guess they don't want to play too many of their former band's songs...but he did a few....Anyway, the Eagles were the best American band of my lifetime. Some of their song's I have yet to tire of after all these years. Side note: at that concert, he had the guy from The Amazing Rythm Aces in his band, so naturally, I was hoping they would throw in 'Third Rate Romance' into the playlist....but it was not to be.... Oh well, RIP Glenn my midwestern bro...RIP
"Stares out at the stars in the Brisbane sky." This guy. Gives fans things they don't even know they want. Rest in Peace, Glenn.
Amen 🙏🏻. We’re gunna miss him. True legend.
Wow just wow

What a privilege and to be paid for the honor.
Wonderful! Glen Frey and Glenn Shorrock taking it easy
I was there for this , and it remains one of my most precious memories
Yes, it was a great time in Brisbane and the city became more worldly. I recall that night fondly and also just sitting there in the daytime and seeing artists such as James Taylor rehearsing. I got engaged at the Polynesian village at Expo.
Rest in peace Glenn. He was the heart and soul of The Eagles.
Lyin'eyes is full of memories for me. Thank you for all these great songs.
N ever mind Bowie or 5 ft 2 Prince. His was a real loss.
Same bud.
@@eugeniasyro3482 each to their own on their music idols. Bowie & Prince were a huge loss to the world as well 😢
@@eugeniasyro3482 This is so respectless, what drives you to write something like this?
The Eagles are not the same without him
Showing my age, but I was there for this - an amazing night, with the best singing band in the world! I so clearly remember GF saying that!
Awesome Aweome Post ......thank you ...

One of my favourite songs of Glen Frey. His voice was amazing!

The harmonies were pretty good and Freys leadership qualities shone through here,he is quoted saying that LRB are one of his favorites.

If anyone has a link to the full concert that’d be amazing.
t Rest.inpeace Glenn was a great musician
Wow, it was a pleasant surprise to find this video. Had no idea they collaborated. LRB and Glenn Frey complemented each other so well.
May he rest in peace.
That is Glenn Shorrock on vocals! I thought he'd left the band by then.
The good Old simple days. We had to earn our entertainment
2020 and these songs takes me back to my teenage years...
