Their secret weapon was that every single member could sing lead, so they could do unbelievable harmonies.
My favorite thing about the group. They had such versatility.
The Eagles one of America's Best Bands Ever!
Amen!!!
A friend asked me... best American band?
Without hesitation, I replied: Eagles.
I returned the question. His reply: Lynyrd Skynyrd.
We were both correct.... Depending upon your mood
Of the world 🌎🙌🏻
You both have great taste!
THE BEST BAND EVER!!
It's pronounced Glenn Frey(Fry). Great song by the Eagles, it's a great rabbit hole to go down. One of my favorite bands of the 70's.
Don Felder’s guitar fills are a masterclass on taste. His touch on a guitar is so smooth.
Me TOO. Came here only for the guitar fills...the way they sparkle up the vocal harmony is what brings all the feelings, through my horse ears.
The Eagles ruled the 1970s.
You can't beat that harmony. The lead guitar man for the Eagles mother was my mother's best friend here in Gainesville, FL. He would visit his mother and eat lunch with her and my mom. My mom liked him and said he was a real gentleman. His name is Don Felder.😊
I know your comment was awhile ago,but I want say Hello fellow Floridian!
I live in Spring Hill, near Weeki Wachi river where the mermaids are.
That's awesome your mom knew Felder and got to have dinner with him!!
Have a Great Day!
@@michellerichardson1427 Hi Michelle! It was really neat that mom got to eat with him on several occasions and enjoy how sweet he was to his mother.
I know Weeki Wachi river - It is beautiful down there!
Nice to touch base with you, fellow Floridian!!
Thats awesome. He was an amazing part of the eagles during their golden era.
Probably our best American band dogg😊
A Very Talented Musician!! Welcome To The Hotel California ""!!
I’ve probably heard this song about 100 thousand times and it still gives me goosebumps. Everything is so well thought of in the song. The lyrics, the instrumentation, everything.
The Eagles could only make great music. Super harmony.
Great start to my day 🤗
Did the Eagles ever have a bad song? I can't think of any!!
One of the greatest songs with the most incredible lyrics by one of the most extraordinary bands of all time, the Eagles, and they could fly !!!
Seven bridges road- basically accapella & all harmony- it will blow your mind.
A couple of things: First, Glenn's last name is pronounced "Fry", not "Fray". The story behind the song is not that someone cheated on any of the band members. The story is that Glenn Frey and Don Henley used to hang out at the bar in Dan Tana's Italian Restaurant on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood, before heading next door to the Troubadour club. They would sit back and imagine the lives of the people they saw at the bar. They often saw young, beautiful women with much older men - men of wealth. So, they imagined that frequently, these girls would cheat on their sugar daddies to get the love and romance that their "relationship' lacked. So the song was a musical way of expressing one of the stories they made up while sitting in Dan Tana's.
I always got the feeling she was lying to everyone. the old man in the first verse, the boy in the second and to herself in the third. Such a well thought out and executed song!
@@bradjbourgeois73 you're right.
This is the music I grew up on. The Eagles were a great 70's band with so many hit songs. They were known for their great harmonies. "Take It Easy", "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", "Already Gone", "Best of My Love", "One Of These Nights", "Take It to the Limit", Hotel California, "New Kid in Town" etc. Before they went solo they were the back up band for Linda Ronstadt.
I think they are the only band I know that never had a bad song
Come on you know there's more 😂 love this song too ❤ Thank you for sharing 🙋
One of the greatest bands of all time. Their smooth, mellow rock sound is so good. I wish it wasn’t so difficult to find videos that don’t get blocked. Thankfully this is a good one. Watched it all with you Adogg!
Don Henley is the problem.
My favorite songs are Desperado, Seven Bridges Road, Witchy Woman, Take it Easy.... Oh who am I kidding? My favorite Eagle's song is the one I happen to be listening to at any given moment.
Seven Bridges Road is actually a song by Steve Young who later sang it with Crosby, Stills and Nash. It was used by the Eagles as a warm up song in the shower room before they hit the stage. They liked their dynamic with it so much, that they later added it to their set list.
Don Felder's masterful guitar riffs on that Fender Telecaster give this song it's haunting sound.
This song came out during the summer of 1975, my freshman year of high school, and it was a part of the soundtrack of my teenage years
The incomparable Glenn Frey, ladies and gentlemen! To sound in concert JUST like you do in the studio, you know it's greatness. The whole band is so beyond talented and most of them have their own hit songs. (For those getting to know the Eagles). I think of them as one of the greatest guitar bands of all time along with Lynyrd Skynyrd. But, yes, keep going down this road - feel good, relaxing, sing-along songs. Great reaction!
It is hard to do reactions to Eagles music, they are notorious for blocking. Please don’t give up! You’re reactions are great and I’m loving following your journey of discovery. I bought every album the Eagles made and still know every word to every song some 50 years later! “Take it to the Limit”, “Seven Bridges Road”, “Peaceful Easy Feeling”, “Heartache Tonight”, “Witchy Woman”, “Take it Easy”, and sooooo many more! Eager for the next one!
Don't you love the story telling in the music of the 70s and 80s?
Singing along with Glen...
Love it!
Thanks for another great reaction. ❤️👍
Absolute masterpiece. Rest in Peace amazing Glen Frey 💔💔💔
Love this man.
Take it to the limit (live) with Randy Meisner on vocals, brilliant.
Agreed!
You do know that a lot of songs the Eagles did were written about Stevie Nicks. She had massive influence on the Eagles, Tom Petty & Fleetwood Mac
They are the third member of my holy trinity! The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
To the boy on the other side of town: "she swears that soon she'll be coming back forever"... Hell she's using her " lying eyes" on him too😊
The guy in the red bandanna is Joe Walsh, and he's got a few hits of his own. Rocky Mountain Way is fantastic! Life's Been Good is also really good.
Great songs!
So much talent on that stage.
I’ve been listening to the Eagles music for all of my 50 years, & I still get chills when they hit that harmony- damn!
The studio version from “One of These Nights” is simply breathtaking. Randy, Don, and Glen blended their voices to perfection…My Oh my you sure know how to arrange things
I think the thing that makes a song a classic is it stands the test of time. This song might be more relevant now than it was back then!
Eagles are an Awesome Group...... So Many Great Songs.......
I'm not sure where or how you found this live version since so many of their videos are blocked. But there is also a video out there of another song at the same live concert. The bass player, Randy Meisner, singing "Take it to the Limit". My understanding is, as talented as Randy is, he was still shy and unsure about performing this song live. He knocked it out of the ballpark! You can even see the rest of the band members smiling at his performance. It would be worth checking to see if you can pull the video up (The Eagles Take it to the Limit live 1977). If the video is blocked, at least listen to the audio version. Randy's voice is phenomenal!
Love Randy Meisner! Take it to the Limit is amazing!
One thing that makes them so good is the way they harmonize so great .I grew up in that time . The Moody blues is a good group too. 👍👍👍👍👍
My favorite song by The Eagles! Love this live version, but the studio version is absolutely perfect with the 4 part harmony, especially at the end. Great reaction!
One of my favourites by the Eagles, but they have so so so many great songs.
We need a P.O. Box!!! I'll send you a copy of their C.D. called Hell Freezes Over. As Don Henley (the drummer) says "we didn't break up, we just took a 17 year vacation." Old songs sounds the same and the new ones are great Eagles hits. I crank up "Get Over It" in the car just to see the other drivers faces😁😘
Hahaaaa great song!
This is the best version of my favourite Eagles song. Pure joy.
The song (One of these nights ) is great . Down Load their Greatest Hits . They have over a dozen great songs
It’s pronounced Fry (Frey). Good video. Eagles have been my favorite band for 50 years!
Beautifully crafted song words and music delivered perfectly, What more can I say,
So much many TALENTED!!! ,great! With Elvis💕👍
Eagles are a great group and this is one of my favorite songs. Not many people react to it, so I'm glad you did!
'Take it to the limit' live is another absolute classic! Can't beat the Eagles!
I love this song!!!
I grew up on the Eagles. I remember waiting until their next album to be released so I could rush out and buy it. I was so sure it could never be as good as the one I had bought before, but every time I was fooled! The album would always be better than the last! There aren’t many bands that can do that. This is the reason I call them America’s number one band! They are just as good today as they were back then. Their music has with stood the test of time.
I grew up listening to a variety of music & The Eagles have always been one of faves along with The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates. The music was so awesome back then.
Love the Eagles. No idea if it occurs elsewhere, but our township has a local radio station that broadcasts 'our' music, no ads, no interruptions, nothing but the music of our youth. We have it on every day and laugh at how we sometimes forget trash pick-up day, stuff needed from the grocery store, etc., but remember every ding-danged word of the songs we loved back then. It's nice that many younger people appreciate and recognize how special that music was and is.
Beautiful, isn't it. And every verse addresses a different individual, so gently circular as well. A very special band.
You're right that was a good song thumbs up to you good reaction
Absolutely LOVE The Eagles, some of the best music ever!
I love your comments, brother, I love the fact that you love this song, because it’s one of my all-time favorites!
This song is an absolute classic - a monster! When you hear the whole thing, and think about the implications...It's a story that happens somewhere EVERY NIGHT!
I saw them,last Saturday,in Manchester,England.They were fabulous,sounded as good as always.
Most bands at their heyday are great and amazingly appreciated .....THEN we get old ,unfortunately some band members pass away and the appreciation grows beyond what can be written in a brief comment ... That's the Eagles personified .. great when we knew them , and even greater as time goes on ... praise God for being born in '58 , and praise God to recognize the greatest harmonious group ever assembled ... thank you for kicking rap to the curb ... the Curb is where you put the trash ...
A touch of country. Superb back vocals.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this wonderful song. I have been a fan of The Eagles for over 40 years -- their music never gets old.
I always thought if you put their songs together in the right order it's like listening to a musical. There's an underlying thread about a few people moving in and out of each other's lives that connects them all.
Grew up with the Eagles playing....Will be seeing them in concert Feb 2023....whoo hooooo..Party time!
Love this song ❤❤❤
there are so few bands now and fewer still where multiple members can sing. That was something that helped the Beatles as well. I so miss the harmonies that were prevalent during this era.
A musical masterpiece and perfection from the singing, music and lyrics!
The Eagles wrote this song when they were in a bar. Glen Frey and Don Henley. They noticed an older gentleman with a beautiful young lady .
OMG These guys had so many hits. I play their greatest hit CD in my car. Good traveling music when I can't any reception. 💖💖💖
The best concert I’ve ever been to! 1977, the old Capital Centre in Maryland. Also on the card we’re Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne. This was breaking out of Joe Walsh joining the Eagles!
Top of the Pops man ...love it!!!!
There is a message in this song. Marrying for money is not what it is cracked up to be.
One of my favs!
Had the privilege of seeing the Eagles in 95...best concert of my lifetime
I was at their very first concert at the beginning of the "Hell Freezes Over" tour after reuniting in '94. I agree.....it was awesome. It was at Aloha Stadium on Oahu (Honolulu). The show started when the lights came up and there were 5 guitarists seated in a row on high stools. They began a long intro into Hotel California that showcased some amazing guitar playing. I knew then that it would be epic.
Their super power is being able to sound JUST as good live as they do on their records. The Eagles are unmatched. 😍
I saw a documentary for this band where each member was interviewed about the band’s beginning & end and everything in between.
They talked about how some of the songs came to life. Some were born from a simple guitar riff the guitarist was using just to warm up with then they put lyrics & all together to make it a great song. “Life in the fast lane “ was such a song because Joe Walsh was using the riff just as an exercise to warm up. Wasn’t too long after they had a song born from just a riff.
So they told the story of how this song came to be.
They were at a bar one night and saw a young woman out w an older man. They could tell they were strangers. And he said the way the woman looked at the man was through “lying eyes” as if she was out cheating. The next day they had the makings of this song.
I love "seven bridges row" beautiful harmony. You would love it I promise.
Home Free also has a great version of Seven Bridges Road. Check it out! 👍
Probably the best song ever written
Listen to Take It to the Limit one more time you'll love it too
Glenn sang lead on many Eagles hits wrote a lot of them as well was a genius
Americas greatest band. Every album was better than the last!❤
Thanks for the extra work required to let us see this reaction. Love Eagles reactions. Sorry they're d!icks about more people seeing their music.
I like this guy
On your own you should listen to “Desperado” The whole album. On second thought listen to them all in order. First album “Eagles”, “Desperado”, “On The Border“, “One Of These Night”, “Hotel California“, “The Long Run”, then they broke up and said they wouldn’t get back together until Hell freezes over, so they got back together and recorded “Hell Freezes Over”, “Long Road Out Of Eden”. The Eagles greatest hits sold more than 38 million albums.
Eagles Bassist Randy Meisner RIP we love you and miss you!! March 8, 1946 July 26, 2023. I bassist because because of you and Timothy B. Schmitt ( second Eagles bassist)
My party peice great song
America’s number one Band
This is my all time favourite Eagles song. I loved it the first time I ever heard it when it was released and nothing's changed. I still love it as much today. Every track on their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is brilliant. I can't imagine ever getting sick of hearing any of tracks on it.
Iv listen too this song many times. And just realized. She was playing bouth of the men.
This song always made me cry. Such beautiful harmonies and broken hearts.
This has always been my favorite "Story Song"
The Greatest American Band Of All Time !!
I had never heard this version in 40 plus years of hearing this song and it’s my new favorite! Thanks for reacting!
There’s about 2 min on the full version that says more about the story about the encounter. Still one of my favourite songs
Glenn Frye was on Rambling Gambling Man with Bob Seger.
Love this song
Ok so now you need to look up one of their songs that had Randy Meisner singing the lead. His voice was probably the most beautiful. I hear he was a very sweet man too (died July of 2023).
Awesome reaction
The Eagles are perfection. This is the one group that I never get tired of listening to.
Me too I still love this song
Every song is a story.
Their best , for my scratched heart
A. Dogg… see if you can dig up a copy of Captain Beyond…”Dancing Madly Backwards”. And then Uriah Heep .., “Salisbury.” You will be a happy man. Love your reviews and so glad you like old R&R.
Can't go wrong with the Eagles.
Best road trip music
I was busking this song one time. People always tip me because they love this song, it really seems to resonate with people. (I love it too.) So anyway, bout 15 minutes after I already played the song, a homeless guy in a wheelchair with one leg pushes up to me and asks me to play Lying Eyes by Eagles. I say sure, and as he drops a dollar in my guitar case, I start the song. After the first verse he scoots away, and after the second verse I closed it down. I mean, it's a long song and I already played it. He is about 50 yards away, and he scoots back to me and says, "Hey - what about that last verse?" So I say, sure, and pop into the last verse. He scoots away happy. I shouldn't have short changed him the first time around!
