Great work, Jim. Your beginner series is some of the best educational material out there, and it’s really helped to reinforce my picking fundamentals. I hope you continue to make more videos like these for intermediate and advanced pickers. I’m a green belt picker who’s been able to pick several blue belt pin tumbler locks pretty consistently, but I’ve been hitting a wall with some of the higher security locks. There’s lots of videos showing people picking these types of locks, but very few resources where someone walks you through the process with the kind of straight forward and thoughtful attention to detail that you’ve shown here. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I’ll be making more for sure. This month is kind of hectic for me but I plan to try and have the beginner series finished by end of June and start on more intermediate locks. I got a 72/40 and 1100 cutaway lock for demonstrating those as well.
Wonderful Jim! Great explanation of the security pins and how they feel! I love the visual tools you are using and the way your explaining things in this series! Still can't get a good jiggle feel down myself lol. Working towards it! Great showing of how sometimes, you can preset a spool depending on the lock! it can make it an easier pick in some cases! Thanks again for another great episode!!
Thanks, the actual practice lock from CI would have been a much better example as I actually was dropping pins and having to reset pins when picking. The nature of the cutaway locks makes that harder to show since things are much more loose inside the lock
@@georgiajim2260 I can definitely understand that! I've never had a cutaway but have heard many times that they act and feel a bit different and it makes sense why that would be...
Im looking for some hands-on real world practice locks. I have practice locks, the clear ones and cut aways from sparrows. What locks should i get or start with? Im still having a very hard time identifying locks. I also live in Georgia go Dawgs!
Learn to pick with Jim if you want to learn how to pick right!
You can't count yourself out either. man, you've got some great information on your channel as well
Agreed but you have taught so many of us @Norlin76!
