i saw you say that you should pick one click at a time. that's the same concept as american locks yes? is
The double cylinder design by built different designs looks more promising. Its clever but simpler construction. See if you can get that
Great review. Very limited tool. Very expensive for what you can actually pick with it. I have used Sparrows picks for years and do like them, but this product is a big fail in my opinion. Thanks for all your hard work reviewing this product!! 👍🐾🐈⬛👏
I would have used a non-picking defeat.
Appreciate the insight!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
What picks you got back there with the black injection molded handles?
Covert Instruments Apex picks.
Love this honest review.
Thanks!
Ouch I like the design but what a shame they didn't take advice from pickers. More than a fair honest review. Thanks
Agreed, it’s a great example of wasted potential.
This is a comprehensive fair review, You raise a good point, why don't sparrows do product testing before they release their products. Its a pretty disappointing product when it cannot be functional on most of the popular in use locks in locksport. Thanks for being honest
Yeah, it could have been so much better.
Would what you're doing to tension with your left hand still be possible once the lock was put into a door and correctly recessed?
Nice pick man
A great pick of a great lock. Really nice to see it being picked for the first time on camera, especially after seeing it being made. A huge amount of effort put into making it by WBD, and a huge amount of effort from Jim learning how and actually picking it. Looking forward to seeing the next version of the lock, and the next attempt at picking it!
damn! nice job. not sure how i missed this one. what a fight that piece of shit put up!
very nice video :) i see it blew up a bit. good for you
If you can open it with a key its not unpickable but DAM that lock is a work of art nice job both of you
Well done, I appreciate the candid nature, and the talking through a pick, rather than hearing a memorized pin order. Great stuff as always, thank you.
Is that one any easier than the v18
its not unpickable but its unpickable by 99% of the criminals out there if not more.
Great picking.
Interesting first glance at this Jackknife tool! Wise words and good criticism for what it is and what not 👍 One Can really learn a lot from you and your view to details!
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words.
Congrat 🎉
After 3 months… I picked it first try after this video… twisting the pick to the left helped, not sure why!
Glad it helped. It works because the bible and core is at an angle inside the padlock and twisting the left gives better alignment on the pin.
$95 for this wet fart when the extremely versatile Swick exists for cheaper is wild.
For sure. It definitely kind of stung buying this and knowing it wasn’t going to be as good as the Swick, but I wanted people to know what to expect with this thing and that there are better options out there.
@@georgiajim2260 I could have understood Sparrows coming out with this and overcharging a little for it like 6-8 years ago, but the price is wild with not just the Swick but the Lockmaster jackknives, etc. being cheaper. This looks to be about as good as the H&H Chinese Southord knockoff for 10X the price.
great video
when I clicked on this video I thought it was going to be over in like 3 minutes and the rest was just going to be discussing it, I was soooooooo wrong lol
Rip Melanie who wrote that song she sang at the 1969 woodstock festival that changed the world as we know it.
Jim is the best!
Hot garbage from sparrows as usual. Only thing they sell I like is the tuxedo case. Tuxedo case with Peterson picks I don’t care if Ken is a sh** starter he makes the best picks on the market.
Ken is definitely loves drama. His picks are really good and I used them for years but there are so many other makers now making comparable stuff it’s harder and harder to pay the premium he wants for his picks.
Their marketing got me into the hobby, but I learned quickly that there are better quality choices out there. Looking foward to the rizz review. I’m loving my riv so far.
Bosnian Bill made me aware of Sparrows and I started out with their stuff and quickly outgrew most of it. The SSDEV and Monkey paw set are the best things sparrows offers imo.
Well said - Lots of these jackknife style picks only offer a bok tensioner which is extremely annoying have a limited set of uses. Would also like to see more hooks at different thicknesses instead of just 15 different rakes.
Agreed, and if I need to carry tensioners separately i might as well just carry a pick case and toss the jack knife
🦾🦾🦾🤙🤙🤙
Their sneak peak video made more sense than their choice of the tensioner.
Lmao savage but true
Thanks Jim I liked the way without more or even a different tensioner you still tried to be fair.
I have no doubts it would be far lore usable with some different tensioners, but with no way to carry them on the tool I might as well just carry a pick set if Im going to be adding extra stuff.
Good to know thank you
Thanks for checking it out!
Great review!! Really a struggle with the one tension wrench 🙀 👏👍🐾🐈⬛🍻👍
Tell me about it😅. Green belt locks are unnecessarily hard with this single tensioner.
Thanks for continuing to do these reviews for new and old pickers alike. I was unaware of this particular jack knife. I'm sure we will all be interested to see more and your final conclusions.
Hate to do a spoiler but it’s already not looking good.
@@georgiajim2260, it was easy to see where it was going. I was trying to be unbiased. 😁
In looking to get a jack knife, I couldn't understand why I'd pay that much for this tool, when I could get a Slim Pickings from CI AND a jack knife from Southern for less. Love my Slim and Southern Jack btw. Thanks for the review and running the tools!!
There are so many other options that are less expensive, better thought out and have more features.
Great review
Thanks!
Great review! For $90 I definitely expected a lot more from the sparrows version of the jack knife. As a long time fan of sparrows I've been finding it harder and harder to recommend their products. This might just be the nail in that coffin.
It wouldn’t have even been difficult to do better.
@@georgiajim2260 You said it perfectly, there are better options for less money. For them to say they spent so much time on R&D is almost insulting. A simple Google search could have saved them a ton of money.
First!
Lock picking lawyer has been real quiet since this dropeed. And not to mention that copy cat dude who taps every lockopen💀💀
Well done! Glad to see a small channel be able to pick this first and gain some notoriety :)
17:28 5 hours😮
Well picked! It gave a good fight 👍👍
Well picked! Very quick for soooo many pins 😲👍👍
-Why is that guy camping out in your front door? -Oh, he's just trying to pick my lock.
Time to turn that into a CL. Where's J?
Damn.
Amazing to watch you work on this awesome lock! Will you try for a sub 10 minutes speedrun?
