Everything about these episodes is great but my favorite part is getting to see Vic's journey through 90's hairstyles and fashion.
Apparently Gameworks had 23 locations across USA (not sure if they were all ever simultaneous, I'm guessing not quite). There's only one left now, in Seattle. The one in Ontario (California) closed July 5, 2017.
I went to the Las Vegas one in 1998 & 2001
Man I remember the hype for Diaktana. I was just getting into fps's back then and so I was diggin it. Man just brings up me playing Goldeneye and being so friggin enthralled by it, and then going to my friends house the one with decent internet in 99 (we were playing dreamcast when I was over also) to see the beta Perfect Dark video. DUDEEEE. your mind leaves you to some AMAZING thoughts on how that game was going to be.. OMG THE MOST HYPED I have evvverrrr been for anything in my life. THE FUTURISTIC MUSIC TOO. love that music to this day. its OTHERWORLDLY love it so much. First level of PD. But I had to comment all of this because THIS WAS THE ERA BABAAAYY!!!
Easily best era of all time… so grateful to have grown up in it instead of today’s doom and gloom world ending and social media nightmare…
90's was so damn good. FPS, Car Combat, Fighters..... Everything was Cooking 😎
@@brandonsullivan9544Do kids today hate their own era?
Thank you for re Releasing these episodes 🎉
Damn, I remember going to Gameworks in Seattle back in '06. That spot was hella legit! Love watching these older episodes, brings me back to a simpler time!
More classic goodness. This is how you do a video game review show.
A great episode 💯💯💯💯
Every Saturday, I get a refresher on how good things were back then. These episodes mean so much to me and so many others. Thank you guys again for giving us these wonderful episodes!
John Romero hyping up this game is LOLZ 😅
Love this content Vic! Hoping to see the weekly rundown return when things settle down :)
Oh man… GAMEWORKS! That was my spot. It was right next to the movie theater in my old neighborhood and that was perfection. Hanging out there before and after movies. The good old days. Now I’m just living in my old days 😢
Awesome first season
Grew up off this show. Thanks
'Apocalypse' is underrated 🥰
It introduced me to Snot & SOAD. The game was rock solid as well 😎
It was great to see Peter Gabriel on your episode. I never got the chance to play his video game Eve. I wonder if it's still available to play.
I love how SOTN was named just Castlevania :D
That hair is fantastic
Symphony of the Night is still one of my favorite games ever. I just recently beat it again and now going through Richter mode!
Look at that 79.99 price tag on Diddy Kong racing!! Are video games the single product on earth that Havnt increased a penny since 1997?!?
Gotta factor in inflation. Games cost “less” now than in the 90s because of that. I think you’re right about the price remaining static.
I remember reading about Daikatana in issues of PC Accelerator all the time. Then it came out and everyone wanted to forget how hyped they were. I still liked it, but didn't get very far into it before I got interested in something else.
Still have a copy of Daikatana. Can remember it not running great on my old PC.
Gameworks sounds like it would have been amazing. What was up with that Burnout poster at 4:38 though? Was that from a magazine or was the first game in production that far back and that was promo material?
It was! I went there a few times as a kid
The hype for Daikatana was UNREAL! But man was that game disappointing. I still play it on my N64 today but it clearly didn’t pan out to be what was promised 😢
I read 📚 about Daikatana 😅back in 1999 when I was in Havana Cuba 🇨🇺 and Plattsburgh New York 🗽 🏫 👨🏫 🚸 🎒 🏫 👩🏫 🚸 🎒 🏫
GameWorks was so awesome.
23:53 - Yeah, Tallarico's comment didn't age well, lol!
Now in 2024, pretty sure no one is waiting for Silksong... 🤷🏻♂️
Heyo 🤘
20:10 WOAH. that insight was crazy... I had to double check and make sure they weren't cheating with an edit from a different time... here we are, stuck with microtransactions and money put before fun or art.
Pretty sure the PNP Games bits are recently made.
I remember saving up over 100 Canadian dollars for yoshis story on N64. Should have got Mario 64 :(
Not much enthusiasm about SotN. Would turn out to be genre defining and one of the greatest games ever
I blame 3D haha everyone was too invested in the new technology.
I was laughing about that as well. So here we have one of the top 50 games of all time. Mmmm, 8.5 out of 10
@@reddogg3118Tommy was notoriously bad at his reviews of games that turned out to be classics, much as he likes to deny it.

Nintendo dude… almost killed me with boredom
