I can't get the same vibes today as I did in these days. The 90s were truly magical and a different world.
@@dsidebotham it was a golden age!
I'd even argue those vibes continued well into the 00s. Look up footage from events like E3 during the first half of the 00s. You can't convince me it doesn't look like the 90s 2.0.
@darkl3ad3r oh for sure. My wife and I say that all the time the early 2000s were like the 90s.
DUDE what an episode. GDC, Half-Life with Gabe and Bachman, Need for Speed 3, and those legendary 90s commercials!!! AHHH TAKE ME BACK! I'm so glad I had my childhood in this era and that you heroes of mine managed to capture so much of the spirit that existed at this time and space. I have to say it every week, but thank you guys for releasing these wonderful time capsules! They're some of the best moments in my week that I look forward to so much!
Thank you Vic and thank you PNP Games! The ads in season 2 have been great. I also love that the new ads play alongside the original commercials.
Need for speed commercials with the granny’s were the best 👌
Man i love these videos
WOW Vic, you had a great conversation with the man who changed how PC games are delivered and brought us the Steam Deck.
It is so awesome seeing you and Tommy and others have fun with developers that revolutionized gaming on all platforms.
This rerun series is FANTASTIC!
So cool seeing the Half-Life footage before the game came out. To this day still fun to play.
This GDC footage is a blast. This was in the era of rapid video acceleration so seeing that the 3DFX and ATI booth was a wonderful trip.
Gabe throwing spoilers with no mercy, and Tommy been so disrespectful towards Quake64. Pure gold!
Never forget half-life one was almost scrapped until they saw goldeneye at a tradeshow and went back and made it more like goldeneye.
NFS3 is my favorite of the old ones ❤
NFS3 rocks. I miss the marketing, made way more hype, especially for games with limited gameplay.
@@robertt9342 good OST too
Amazing videos as always.
Thank you again for these!! Love the trick to get Roll in Marvel VS. Capcom! Laughed at the idea of having both a PC and console to get the most out of Duke Nukem!!
Damn, seeing Gabe talking about Half-Life in 1998 and now he's the owner of Steam is surreal. Also Tips and Tricks, I use to read those magazines religiously! Love these older episodes and the addition of the retro game commercials!
He blame the controller for his Madden loss. Thats a classic.
Man, it's definitely something to see Gabe and Ted from way back when talking about Half-Life before its initial release.
Its amazing how quickly the gaming industry changed around this time. The change to 3D graphics and the inception of first person shooters is crazy
Now it's Saturday 😄
Nice
If you've waited your whole life for Half-Life, then get a life! Well, get Half-Life!
What was the score of your game?
I'd don't even want to talk about it.
😅😁
RIP Coolio
Wow Zoe looks so young there.
Kind of crazy how Tom Hall hasn't done any big thing in the past 20 years, although he did suffer a stroke in 2010 and apparently was a designer for the game Demeo
I love how you still decided to include Ted's name wrong as "Bachman". I love you so much lol
Good lord people were sharp and lucid back then
15:40 for the money shot
Tommy is funny with his rating... 9.3? _Not_ 9.5? 🙄🤷
R.I.P Coolio!
That Half-Life reveal was so regularly plain and normal. Not a feeling at all this is a land mark game and Steam will be Steam.
I've always been a console gamer, and when Vigilance was unveiled as a 007 Goldeneye killer, I was genuinely jealous. Then.......nothing.
Cryisis is the only PC game they can ever claim as a PC benchmark.
Everything else runs on console just fine, and most likely, it'll run better on console.
Yea, consoles are awesome for the price to performance. But PC will always be the cutting edge in terms of graphics. I'd say Cyberpunk 2077 is the modern benchmark (with RTX and some reshades of course), console ray tracing just isn't there yet. I played on console most my life, with the occasional PC game, but I couldn't go back now. And mods is another reason PC is the shit! Until I can play modded tf out Skyrim in VR on console, PC is the platform for me! Oh, and we can't forget emulation, so you can play console games anyway lol.
You don't know who it is it's Coolio
PNP Ads are Cringe. Please stop.
I don't think they need to stop but it might be better to go a different direction than the [surely self-aware] cringey style currently being used.
They started strong but are progressively getting more annoying
Still much better compared to the detergent, shampoo and McDonalds ads that keep interrupting the actual video while I'm watching!
But yeah, the Chug Juice made no sense whatsoever
