- 2017 BMW R nine T Racer review. In this video I review the new BMW RnineT Racer. I'm going to put the BMW's highly successful "retro" platform thru it's pace and see how it does in the twisties.
Many thanks once more to the guys at BMW motorcycles of Riverside for letting me borrow the bike for this review.
I hope you guys enjoy and thanks for watching.

This bike was such a pleasure to ride, what do you think, have you ever ridden one?
I am so not sure....
I own this bike. I have about 2500 miles on it so far. Recently put 1000 miles through he back twisty roads of NC! Including tail of the dragon. I was not left wanting anything more from this bike. Great ride! Riding position is comfortable but 250 miles a day is about all I would want to do. I’m not in bad shape... but someone that lacks core strength might struggle with 250 or more. Live this bike. Plan on having it in my garage until I die or go blind. Great review. I agree with everything in the vid.
+James DEFRANGE I've missed that bike every day since my review.
Thanks for your comment. This bike is my top choice R Nine-T variant to replace my Monster 1100 but I've been concerned about the forward stretch after sitting on one in the showroom (I'm 5'10"). I do 10+ hr days on my Monster but the handles are closer, even though it has a 27 deg lean. Will have to demo the Racer this Spring
+Paul K definitely give it a try, I loved it and this is coming from a huge Ducati monster fan.
@james DEFRANGE Like this response! I just purchased this bike. I live in MD and intend to ride Shenandoah, Blue Ridge Parkway and Tail of the Dragon in NC myself!
The riding position is a concern for longer trips based on reviews but I am 5”11 and feel very comfortable on this bike!
Excited for warmer weather to come around!
@@MauricioRafaelGonzalez the riding position is my concern I'm looking to buy one, how are you liking the bike now? My background is sportbike for the last 20 years.
This makes an excellent stable mate to Urban GS. I'll be looking for one at the end of the year.
Late to the party here, but I just put a deposit down on one of these after nearly buying the thruxton R. I can vouch for everything you said - but the suspension is quite soft for anyone on the heavier end. I'm 70kg and it was perfect for me but any heavier and I'm not so sure. The main reason for buying the racer over the other bikes I've test ridden is the engine. The old air boxer has so much character, I hope the emission regulations don't kill it off. For anyone worried about the rider triangle, helibars do a +4" riser which still clears the fairing.
Great choice 👍
I’ve got both, to be honest the Thruxton is a better bike, but don’t get me wrong the Racer is great 👍
Your English is impressive for an non-native speaker. Great video, I really love this bike!
+chai guy thanks, I'll take the compliment 😁
Thinking about getting one of these and this hit all the points I was curious about. Great stuff!
Mike , thank you, I Was thinking about getting one myself, it’s an incredibly cool motorcycle
🌨❄️☃️..super cool with heated grip👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
thanks mate!
I have one and love it, but comfortable in town!?!?!, are your wrists made of solid titanium??😂
Actually they are...🤣🤣🤣
I found it fairly comfortable, obviously not as comfortable as the standard r9t but compared to other café racers I thought this is one, if not the most comfortable I've driven. I'm actually looking for one to buy right now 😁👍
Albe, I’ve just bought this bike but can’t open the glove compartment in the back, you make it look easy. How did you do it?
First, Congratulations!!! Just pull the little strap, there should be no lock just a matter of pulling. Maybe it's just hard cause it's new, unless your dealer put one there but that shouldn't be the case
@@AlbesADV Thanks, it worked
Great Vid
How tall are you??
+Tsykes7474 I'm 6'2" or 186cm or 1,86m.
Cajalco Rd!
+Justin Opinion yes, that's exactly it. Pretty good if there is no traffic
Is the windshield removable???
As far as I know you have to remove the whole front fairing
@@AlbesADV sorry thats what I meant. Forgot the word haha
No problem, I forget words all the time
is it just me or or he bike really look like grey colour
Hi Adam, no the bike is really white, might be the color grading of the video
Best Review EVER on this Bike - Thank U !! ;)
